Long Island, NY - Fast Charger Locations 2021

Rosyln Height SC is located inside the parking lot of Willis Row Strip Mall (CVS - 373 Willis Avenue, Roslyn Heights, NY 11577) and should come online within the next month or so as I spoke to the electrician and they said everything on their part is done and is just waiting for PSEGLI to turn...

Trusted Tesla Install Shop in NYC Metro Area?

Tesla doesn't have anything special in regards to its suspension, any trusted shop can do it. I've used Fury Automotive in Mineola, NY when my P85+ rear toe links and upper control arms were going bad (rear end tends to sway) and they changed them up for me after I got the parts from Tesla...

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

I guess my definition is a bit different as I am thinking of computer terminology which I am more familiar with. The physical isolation that you spoke of in my installation happens in the separate gateway box - which the tech says is the “transfer switch” - I am sure somehow the built in...

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

I can confirm the box on top of the PW2+ has a gateway as the gateway that’s active as the serial number matches what’s on my network while the standalone gateway 2.0 box is not.
  5. C

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

Yes there’s another gateway box outside my fence next to the meter. Tesla disconnected my service line and put a gateway 2.0 box next to it and used that as a “Transfer Switch” between the Grid and Solar Array via PW2+. It then feed power back into my main service panel inside the basement. I...

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

Tesla disconnected my service feed from meter to inside the main panel in my basement. They used a Gateway 2.0 box as a “transfer switch” for grid and solar array from the PW2+. Which then feeds it back to main panel. I think the gateway 2.0 box has been disabled or only used for...

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

PW2+has 2 parts. Top rectangular box is an all-in-one enclosure for Gateway and the Tesla Inverter that shares the same (larger) mounting bracket with the 2nd part - the Powerwall module. I believe that the Gateway, Inverter and Powerwall is probably the same as standalone componets.
  8. C

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

I've tried both. My Unifi shows the gateway 2.0 is connected to my Home Devices WiFi network (I keep all the smart devices on a separately network to avoid any potential security issues/backdoors) at 192.168.1.47 but unable to connect to it even when my iPhone and computer I'm using is...

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

NYS does not allow PW stacking. They must be 3 fts apart from each other and 3ft away from any egress. Photo is the screen on the installer/technician's phone (with his permission) It allows them to trouble shoot them w/o manually going into the Tesla Gateway 2.0 to turn off the grid to...

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

Might be less than 0.3kw loss due to rounding / significant digit as solar array is feeding 3 locations at the same time - up to 0.1kW rounding errors each.

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

I've seen some post saying the new PW2+ DOES NOT backfeed to the grid BUT in fact IT DOES - that's what I was trying to clarify.
  12. C

    Discussion: "Powerwall +"

Here’s my PW2+ installation. Note that the new PW2+ Does allow the solar array to do net-metering (back feeding the grid) while supplying power to both home use and battery storage.

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Just noticed that his part# is 1014116-00-B (REVISION B) and it is showing as 90KWH. The one I had 1 year ago was 1014116-00-A and it was showing as a 85KWH pack (but in reality, it is better than the original 90kWH pack) Perhaps they realized they can just relabel it as a new 90KWH pack in...

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Just an update, Battery degradation on the brand new pack is at 3.1% after maybe 3 supercharge sessions, and around bi-weekly 40A charging at home to 90% (I don't like topping it everyday) after about 10 months. Was 288-289 @ 100% rated miles when I first got it, now it is 279 @ 100% per iOS...

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

If they removed it from the parts catalog, it will not be made. They probably used it either because they are running out of refurb as they needed to concentrate on new cell development or they were doing some test to see how this turns out. Looks like those new refurb are pretty good too.

Just put 245s on Staggered Wheels - 8.5" Wheel (Front) and 9" Wheel (Rear) without any issues nor does it look out of place. :) TY everyone!

Vredestein Quatrac Pro 245/35R21 - first all season tire for 21 in rims

Thanks! I'm placing my order now. Originally I have delicated 19" winter (X-ICE) and since I have my referral wheels, I'm thinking of just using my original turbine as fall/winter/spring tires. And summer for summer. sometimes I'm too busy/lazy to change out Winter wheel for summer like this...

Vredestein Quatrac Pro 245/35R21 - first all season tire for 21 in rims

Shrink, are those 245 on staggered wheels (Rear wheels being wider - so 245 will stretch on the wider 9" wheel) Thanks!

    Maximum battery charge level reduced

You have a picture of your Battery sticker? Does it have Part# 1014116-00-A? If so, I think you might be the 2nd person that got this new pack that I got as discussed here in this thread: New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+ I too got 289 miles out of it! :)
  23. C

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

guess what? Someone found this on FB group and it is looking like what you are saying. My 100% rated range of 289 miles is close to the 285 miles range in the model s standard range shown in their trip range calculator!
  24. C

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

89092 miles when it gave me the all important “Maximum Battery Charge Level Reduced” error and limited my battery to ~45%. I then drove about 200 miles before it gets replaced at the SC’s first available appointment.

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

I guess you have a Brown Model S as well from your username! me too! :) Brown P85+ w/ RFS reporting in! What kind of battery did they give you back then?:)
  26. C

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Probably no difference between your message and mine! In the meantime, enjoy the reduced range and don't go to close to 0mi / 0% as it might progressively get worst. Good luck and hope you get a new battery as well. Please report back! :)

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Will do more testing once weather warms up a bit. I'm also looking into getting a BT OBD2 module to dig a little deeper too

Mine was replaced under warranty. Software deemed 54% of my former battery unusable. They've double check using over the air diagnostic and determined my battery needs replacing. I was expecting a refurb 85kWh and if lucky a refurb 90kWh battery, but got this great gem! I never asked any...

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Charging at home is still not finished yet. One thing that’s interesting that I just noticed is that at close to 100% I am still getting 14A into the battery. Normally this will fall to about 1A in this late stage of charging.

Fell asleep but just woke up and arrived with 6% left at 5am in the morning at 25 degrees F with a semi cold battery (had drove 13 mi to warm it up but unfortunately that wasn’t enough. Sorry for the missed opportunity. Also unsure if it is the problem with the supercharger not getting more...

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Thanks for your offer but I'm in NY. How do you get the voltage from the OBDII cable? I do have access to a generic cable and the Ross-Tech VAG-COM cable that's used for VW Group cars.
  37. C

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Sorry, but how do I check the voltage at 100%? Car still has 91 miles left and will run it down more. I will probably supercharge it tomorrow or tonight and let you all know.

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Called Tesla on the first attempt when my P85+ had a bit over 200 at ~90% but they said they checked and nothing is wrong ... until the new firmware update, that better detects bad batteries, tells me my "Maximum Battery Range is Limited" They WILL NOT replace anyone's battery based on miles /...

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Sure will update you guys once I get it down low and supercharge it back up to see what speed I get (have to find an off peak time to do so as well to weed out the uncontrolled variables) As far as others benefiting from my case, it really depends on what's available in their inventory and...

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

My apology. I should've mentioned that in my original post. I always balance my cells from time to time just so that my battery gauge is accurate by letting it go to single digit (sometimes 0!) and charge it back up to 100%. After the infamous update that reduced range for alot of people...

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Sorry did not include photos before (taken at different time but both is showing projected 100% range - Today's average is about 370wh/mi if this is even a crucial information) Rated Range @ 100% = 289 miles (per iOS Tesla app) Ideal Range @ 100% = 333 miles (per iOS Tesla app)
  43. C

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

*Perhaps* the L036 part means the 36th week?!?? again, I'm just taking a wild guess here.
  44. C

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

There's no actual date stamp that I can see but the battery Serial number showing T19 should indicate that it is made in 2019 - at least that's what my logic is telling me.
  45. C

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Rated Range @ 100% = 289 miles (per iOS Tesla app) Ideal Range @ 100% = 333 miles (per iOS Tesla app)

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

    I think the old 40kwh-locked & 60kwh are 350V only.
  47. C

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

The old packs have part# 1014114-00-A / B / C /D ... this one I have is 1014116-00-A. different packs. But I have not yet supercharged yet so I hope it doesn't have the 100kWh supercharging limit of the old pack
  48. C

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

I would like to believe so too. I am happy with the range now. will tell if the supercharging performance as well as the 0-60 time is as good . That's why I don't want to jump into conclusion saying this is a "lesser pack" when it might have been a much better pack. :)
  49. C

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

I believe you might be right again about the return of standard range! (just checked Tesla' - it hasn't return yet. Let's give it a week or 2!)
