    FSD Price refund

Suprise....New cars usually depreciate faster than used cars. Prices change all the time. Deals come and go. Some people are luckier than others.

Does a battery ever have a positive ROI with net metering

Overall, as Solar gets cheaper and electricity gets more expensive, the number of situations where Solar will make financial sense will grow.

Cyber(nota)truck even more Not a truck than I first thought

Not sure what the issue is. I spoke to 5 CyberTruck owners over the last week, and all of them said they really liked their Trucks. Imagine, like most EVs, they will get even better over time.

    "officially recommended" tire rotation pattern?

A quick look and feel will give you some information on how you might best even tread wear with a rotation. Your tire shop can also give you some advice on strategy. If all tires are wearing evenly, with no feathering, then perhaps not rotating them at all will be the best course of action.

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Speaker of the House has reins over the entire house. Needs to get the votes necessary for bills he considers good for the Country. His votes can come from his own party, independents or the opposition. His goal is to get the bills he wants passed...passed.

    FSD now $8,000. Who's buying?

Side note, is that people who originally paid a higher price for FSD Beta are now getting upgraded to FSD Supervised for free.

    FSD now $8,000. Who's buying?

Tesla people tend to be very clever.

Order before March 1 or wait until end of Q1

Elon, from time to time, steps back and takes a hard look at his offerings. Seems like he is in that process right now, and will realign his stars.

    Punctured tire/question

Most tire stores will not plug a puncture in that area, as it flexes significantly when driving and more prone to failure than a similar puncture more centered in the tread. Tesla and tire stores would recommend a tire replacement. Of course, you could save yourself some money by sticking some...

Center horn retrofit for Model S

When the mobile tech replaced my pealing yoke with the new updated one (under warranty) he hooked up his laptop to a plug inside the center console. Needed to change something to enable the new one to work with the center horn and new camera button. After that everything worked as designed...

    Audio secondary battery

Adding an auxiliary battery for a sound system is a hold over from ICE days. Your car already has enough extra battery to run such a system. Adding another battery will add complexity weight and cost, for little benefit. Ambient lighting now is usually LED and will consume little current. The...

    Obtaining rear bumper cover

It may be that Tesla does not want people just slapping on a new bumper cover, without addressing any damage than may have been done underneath it.

    Cybertruck is a scam.

Think some people here are just making things up to be dramatic.

Disappointed in my Model 3 Highland LR

Every ICE vehicle I have purchased has had issues that I needed to take back to the dealership to be addressed. Sounds like you got more than your share, but seems like they are all things that can be fixed as soon as the parts for this new model arrive.

    2024; Tesla's Tipping Point?

That truck is a left over 2023 and will also have an additional $840 in dealer fees that will be added. Please do not Cherry pick an example that is not apples to apples. Tesla's CyberTruck production is well sold out for the next year or more. Tesla has not yet released a lowest priced...

    Rivian

Competition is good. Each company can see what their competitors are doing better, and learn from them. Right now, Rivian loses about $40,000 on each vehicle they sell. Not a lot of companies lining up to buy companies like that. They have a nice market niche, with well appointed off road...

Three Consecutive Perfect Sunny Days - Variation in Output

Also, Solar output metering is not of labortory quaility. Imagine that will induce some variance as well. Most interesting thing I saw on my app, was how you could get a visualiation to the recent Solar eclipse. Obvious dip in production in our area of partial eclipse.

Should Tesla offer $15 Cdn monthly subscription for Acceleration Boost ?

Compared to what it would cost to get an equilivent HP boost from most ICE cars, the Tesla offering is a bargain.

    Cybertruck battery only half full?

Extra batteries means extra weight and extra cost. With 4680 cells being in relatively short supply, it could simply be that Tesla is trying to match CyberTruck production with 4680 supply.

Tesla FSD Subscription Now $99/Month | Tesla Motors Club Podcast #62

Nothing is perfect and little is free. At $99 Tesla is offering a compelling value to many, but stil too expensive for others. Imagine that at some time, FSD will becomes just another standard feature on most cars.

    From Y to Audi e-tron: a Comparison

Audi cost too much, expensive to maintain and dealerships tend to gouge. Crap captive charging network. Depreciate like crazy. They do, however, stroke the owners ego with fancy interiors and beautiful showrooms.

Cyber(nota)truck even more Not a truck than I first thought

Bullet Tough is a take off on Fords "Ford Tough" advertising slogan. Ford had to do something when they changed over their truck bed from steel to aluminum. Ford called it "Military Grade" aluminum (what ever that is) but reality is that those "Ford Tough!" beds could not withstand what an...

The post annoying pedestrian warning sustems

Wonder if lawmakers are going to institute a manditory minimum noise level for ICE vehicles as well. Some ICE cars are pretty quiet. In the case of rear engined vehicles, pedestrians do not have the auditory warning you get from a typical front engined car.

Why am I seeing ads from other auto makers that encourage no monitoring of vehicle while driving?

Horrible that Mercedes is showing that owner watching a sporting event on his display while on the road. Believe it would violate US laws by enabling the screen to show video to the person supposed to be driving. There are also laws about driving while using a cell phone.

FSD free trial. Very impressed. So better than Autopilot

At a future date, Tesla could raise the rate back to $199 for new customers. This would essentially lock the bargain $99 rate, for as long as you continued to subscribe.

    FSD now $99 a month

Nice thing about the FSDS rental pricing is that you can turn it on and off when you choose. If you are driving very little, you can let it lapse, but if you have a big trip coming up, where you will be going long stretches and along unfamiliar routes, the $99 may certainly provide great value...

Peeling Yoke warranty replacement - updated materials?

    Lower Subscription Price Coming?

It may be that Tesla has kept FSD purchase and subscription prices high, as they did not have enough data capability to handle more of the fleet. Now that Dojo is coming on line, perhaps they will be able to handle a larger number of vehicles.

To Complete Steering Wheels, and Lateral Gs!

For me, the Yoke really opens up the sightlines of the interior. It is more comfortable in most everyday driving and cruising down the highway. It does not block my view of the instrument panels, and gives a touch of flair to the interior. It is, perhaps, the most commented on feature from my...

    Still don’t have FSD trial.

For me, FSD is similar to sitting next to another person that is driving. Many times I feel that they are not driving as I would. Following too close, missing opportunities to make better time or narrowly avoiding situations that I have seen quicker than them. Believe this is just human nature...

When will trial start rolling out?

This is how Elon works. You make a plan, and begin to implement. As it rolls out, you learn things and adapt to that reality. The alternative is to wait until everything is perfect and all potential issues are worked out, then release. Even here, you will find issues as you launch into reality...

    Cybertruck is a scam.

When Cybertruck was released, they were production constrainted by the availability of 4680 cells. Someone had to make a decision to make more trucks or more range. Imagine, that over time, options will become available to increase the range of the CyberTruck, without limiting the bed space...

Will the free FSD trial convince you to purchase FSD?

Would the FSD pricing be more acceptable if it was transferable? Most all people complaining about FSD would still install it if it was free.

Initial belief is that it will release with a removable steering wheel/yoke. The 48V architecture will enable full steer by wire. I am debating selling/trading a Ford F150 for a Model Y. Am I missing anything?

You might be able to get away with a Model X as your ownly car. It is the most versitile of all the Tesla and would not only give you the pace and even more volume than your S, but give you the command driving position, and the ability to tow a trailer if you ever had that need. Benefits of only...

    Front Bumper Camera

Not unusual to see forum posts, wanting to put off their purchase until the next rumored advancement is implemented. Tesla new steer-by-wire, that'll be a HELL NO for me....

Believe the new 48v systems tap into the main battery, with the voltage stepped down to 48V. In order for the 48V system to stop, the main traction battery would need to fail. If that happend the car would immediately coast to a stop.

Towed boat from RI to FL & Back

Common to read that Tesla make excellent tow vehicles, as far as power, suspension, braking, handling and generally tow with relative ease. Of course, downside is they need to stop frequently to recharge on longer trips as the weight and aerodymanics really sap the range. This post shows how a...

For just $2,500 more, why did you order Model S (non-Plaid) over the Model X tax edition 5 seats ?
