    2023 Holiday Update Imminent

2023.44.1? Our 2020 Model Y is on 2023.7.20. I have tried to contact service and they won’t let me even file a problem. I have rebooted, I have installed a new WiFi extender (connection works four bars), I have gone into service mode and reinstalled, then rebooted. Not sure what else we can do here.

FS ($50), EVANNEX LUXE MAT (Lloyd Mats) FOR MODEL S

Hi, just in time, I got the new mats from Tesla and was going to toss them. Here are some photos I took.

FS ($50), EVANNEX LUXE MAT (Lloyd Mats) FOR MODEL S

Hi, I am selling my Evannex Model S Luxe Mats, all mats, front and rear (these cost me $305). Luxe Floor Mats for Tesla Model S. There is a little damage to the drivers side that you can see at about 2pm from the white label. The rear mat isn't damaged, the mats have just been rolled up for a...

After 5-weeks, I turned FSD Beta off!

The bug report button is already a placebo. I had to speak to Tesla about a couple of things, one of which was the car throwing me out of FSD with a strike even though my hands were on the wheel and there was no warning. When I did he asked the precise time it happened. I said well I filed a big...

FSD update on 90D missing side cameras in backup

We recently got our cameras updated on our 90D as well as FSD with 2022.44.25.5. When I backup, my car no longer shows the two side cameras, only the top one. Weirder still, when my wife drives, we see them. I can’t find the setting. Any ideas?

Tesla FSD 10.69.3.1 going to wide release now

Our Model Y 2020 LR did receive it Thursday. We have a crummy safety score (thanks to our driveway and the heavy sudden start and go traffic in this area), but got it anyway, my Model S has to wait for version 11. It is interesting, but I don’t yet have confidence to not take over the wheel...

Tesla Service - wash before pickup

Thank god there is no car wash. BMW did that to my wife’s 530xi and the water leaked in and fried the Bluetooth module and the radio. $3500 in repairs, none of which were covered under warranty. I wash my own car, others are not allowed to do it.

How many windshields have you replaced on your Tesla?

Two Teslas, no windshielet’s. Definitely holding up better than the BMWs we had.

Need new mats for Model S 2017

I guess I really meant carpets but it’s too late to change the title now. I have a 2017 90D with a black/walnut interior. The original Tesla mats died after a year, the drivers side one crumpling up. On the recommendation of another poster, I bought the Luxe Evannex mats which I hate. They look...

4 Continental Procontact RX 255/45R19 19" tires off Model Y *WORN* (NJ)

I just replaced the four tires on our 2020 Model Y. Two are ok, two are down to the bars. Maybe you have a need for these? although there is some side wear. $40 and they are yours. I am in Montclair, NJ, not far from NYC. I will not ship.

The catastrophe of FSD and erosion of trust in Tesla

Just saw this thread. The OP made a sober assessment of the situation. Elon said that FSD and Starship were the two most difficult projects he’d ever done, but now he’s playing with Twitter? Not a healthy sign. Everyone knows that Gwynne Shotwell is in charge of SpaceX and they could get rid of...

    Ear pressure heat pump humming?

I’ve got an EMF meter. I’ve had surprises before, like the field at a friend’s Brooklyn apartment was crazy high (a transformer hung outside on the street) or finding out that transformers in the base of lights we bought at ikea were emitting unhealthy amounts of EMF, and that the floor of my...

Why does Tesla suspension suck so bad?

My Model Y is so much better in every way than my BMW E90 335xi with M-Sport suspension! A much, much better car and it's nice not to feel the "BMW explosion" that I used to feel going over every pothole. The amount of cursing I do has gone way, way down.

MYP w/19” Geminis in the snow

We've owned twelve cars between us and the Y LR is probably the better car that I've had in the snow. It's certainly better than an XDrive BMW (335xi or 530xi wagon) for example. There was no question that those required snow tires as did Saabs (front wheel drive) and Volvos (rear wheel drive)...

    19" Gemini Summer Tires?

I'd really like to get the Michelins, but I'm also super concerned about this Reddit post about the all season Michelins being too small for the rims... Anybody have a positive experience with Michelins on these rims?

    19" Gemini Summer Tires?

I’m not sure it matters that much either. It’s my wife’s car though and she liked the quiet although I do drive it 40% of the time and safety always matters. Wonder if anybody has done any tests about the sound levels.

    19" Gemini Summer Tires?

Our 2020 Long Range Model Y's OEM All Season Contis are near the end after two years and 20,000 miles. I managed to snag a set of new 19" Geminis with Pirelli Winter Tires so we'll be using those for future winter driving, should make things nicer for ski resorts and storms. Yeah, I could have...

FSD Beta Version 2021.44.30.20 Release. Now What?

I’ve come to the conclusion that Tesla won’t be releasing this beta to the public any time soon. They will figure out some incremental update and the limited beta will continue for years. It seems that there is something fundamentally flawed in their approach, not just mere fine tuning.

Suitability of Model Y for the daily grind of NYC commuting?

i have a Y and an S and while I no longer commute into the city every day, I do live in Montclair and go in often enough. The Ys ride is rougher than the S for sure, but it can’t be compared to the horrible ride of, say, BMWs. I have yet to scream a curse word at the top of my lungs from the...

Does the 2021 S need snow tires (in addition to its All Wheel Drive) to get from Tahoe to Marin County?

Yes and also note: The use of non-recommended tire chains has been shown to cause suspension and other vehicle damage.

Does the 2021 S need snow tires (in addition to its All Wheel Drive) to get from Tahoe to Marin County?

Yup. We used to live in CA. ALWAYS carry chains if you are going into the snow, regardless of your tires. We went to the Sierras for Thanksgiving vacation in 2019. Right before we left we got news of a winter storm coming. Changed our crappy rental into a Wrangler, definitely 4WD and the tires...

Sandy Munro Says Tesla Shouldn't Build A $25,000 Electric Car

Wow, yes. I had the same experience with my 2011 335xi. Two blown clutches, the first at 15,000 miles. The morons said I didn’t know how to drive manual. I informed them that I had been driving manual longer than they had been alive. It worked once, not twice. The clutch was too weak for the...

New update 2021.44.25 adds customizable app launcher like Model S refresh plus other major upgrades to system.

After using this for hundreds of miles now, having waypoints (and the ability to pick and choose superchargers!) is worth all of the hassle. A little annoyed the cards are gone, but two cars ago tire pressure had to be monitored by a funny little pen like thing that a stick would pop out of...

In our Model Y. Overall, there is plenty to like about this update, athough plenty of issues too, most of which have been covered here. Does anyone know where the Watt Hours display is (it does still exist, no?) so we can check to see how our consumption is.

    Not getting any software updates??

Nope. I have a 2017 Model S 90D and a 2020 Model Y. Neither has the 2021.40 branch. This is the longest and most frustrating wait for an update to date.

Still utterly mystified why neither my 2017 90D Model S (with updated MCU) or 2020 Model Y haven’t gone past the 2021.36.x revision. Maybe it’s because they know i have a Tidal subscription and don’t want me using it?

I can no longer, in good conscience, recommend Tesla vehicles.

Well at least the OP didn’t buy a BMW! That would be a world of pain. All those minor issues pale in comparison to what one of those junkheaps would have had by know. We bought two Teslas to replace our BMWs last year and have been thrilled.

    Eve for Tesla from MyQ

It’s not that it gets confused with either of those, its that Homelink has no condition state and also sometimes doesn’t fire properly. I have added Homebridge on a Raspberry Pi and set up an automation so that when I leave the house both garage doors and the lights are off.
