I don't see how CCA customers would escape the $24 fee. CCAs pass on all Distribution charges from the utilties. The CCA can only control the generation charges

so no one else thinks this kills CCAs

    CPUC NEM 3.0 discussion

So how does this impact CCAs? I'm betting the $24 fee gets passed onto CCA customers. Then PG&E lowers the per kWh rate by $.05 to $.07, that minimizes the CCA advantage on generation rates.

Washington Post Article - We are running out of energy

wasn't behind a paywall for me. They are saying demand doubles driven largely by Data Centers. What I don't get is that there is a "9 year growth" chart, but it starts in 2017 and ends in 2023 and shows demand in 2023 double that of 2022. I don't think they have the numbers correct...

I think most residential housing areas would not allow big wind turbines. Where do you get water for hydro unless you are by a river and then its probably illegal to do that. In any case, I still think you need a generator

I just did the calcs. Using my Tier 2 gas cost of $2.6/therm, I get from $.43/kWh to $.57/kWh for a 21 kW NG generator. Efficiency depends on load. Its less efficient at lower loads and the $.57 was at 50% load. Is there a Tier 3 and higher rate?

In my area, a tree supposedly took out 3 Power poles. I saw them replacing them but how does a tree hitting power lines pull down 3 poles? I lucked out and only lost power for 2 hours. The rest of my street has been without power for 3 days and ETA for back is Thursday

PGE just updated the date for restore. It is now 2/8 at 10pm. That's over 4 days. Glad I am just outside the outage. My neighbors starting 2 lots down all the way to the other end of the street are without power. I think only 1 has a generator

we lucked out. Lost power for 2 hours, but rest of my street is still down. I'm still getting the PG&E alerts and they are saying estimated time to get it back is 2pm tomorrow. That would be a 48 hour outage. When power was out for me, the PWs estimated I had 24 hour supply which woulld have...

what? Faster payoff with batteries? Would like to see that math. Batteries double the price. A 6 to 8 year pay off is a pipe dream And as their use of power from the grid declines and they get paid for excess power, customers generally expect to have their new solar system paid off in six...
