Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Maybe they aren’t buying them because they aren’t Teslas. 🤷‍♂️. I know I fall into that category. They have the EV6 and Tesla sells way more Ys. Plus the EV9 just came out I think.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Not saying he isn't going to be right, but why should we care what he thinks? I guess he got Apple/iphone correct so he must be an expert on this topic as well. ;) Toni Sacconaghi 2008 -- Others, such as Sanford Bernstein analyst Toni Sacconaghi, say that the discrepancy suggests that more...

Same here...and to think I was this 🤏 close to selling all my shares to load up on Truth Social. ;)

Good point. Just like how no one buys a Honda accord because of the Honda civic being available.

Official Foundation Series Dual Motor Waiting room

What are your garage dimension? My garage is only 20x20 and this is a concern of mine. My other car would be a Model Y.
  6. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yeah, I haven't seen any improvement from 12.3.3 to 12.3.4 either. It may have "fixed" some issues I was having but made some other things worse. I like to try out new versions because I am invested in TSLA and I want to gauge the "progress", but otherwise, I always end up reverting back to...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Not sure why but I’m starting to think that some people must have completely different experiences with FSD than I do. Not only would my car start yelling at me if I did anyone of those things (use my phone, text, email, etc) while driving, but I would also miss all of the times I need to...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

I don’t trust Moscow Mike until it’s actually official. Everything has been a delay tactic, hopefully this isn’t more of the same.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I agree. I had FSD last summer (paid for a couple of months) and I liked the ALC feature for road tripping. Otherwise, wasn't worth it for me to keep spending $200 per month on it. I currently have the free trial so I can see the progress from last year. I have help sell at least 3 teslas so I...
  10. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I agree...for example, I would pay just for ALC for road tripping. Not $100 per month but something. Or if I had a couple long roadtrips in a month then I would. Although, seems like this feature is being provided by some competitors (i think) so maybe it becomes standard with AP?
  11. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It's a cool feature but I can't imagine there are many people that would pay $100 just for their car to park for them. I have tried the auto park feature and I find it easier just to park myself as it goes slow. Even if it could park as quickly and as well as me, no way I would pay $100 per...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Say what? Are you saying this is what you will do if true unsupervised FSD is solved or are you saying this is how you use it now. If you are saying you are doing this now, thats crazy. No way I would text/email, play with kids, etc. while in charge of the car. Its not close to being able to...
  13. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Well, it could make more sense to get used EV that was $25k when new. But I agree...if RT were really reliable, then 2 cars between 3 or 4 people could be doable and may make sense for a lot of people. But they would have to be much more reliable compared to what Ubers/Lyft is like in my area.
  14. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I am not sure how anyone with kids could replace the 2nd car. Maybe it would make it unnecessary to get a 3rd car when the kids get their license but this wouldn't be hugely profitable. I would still prefer a $25k tesla for the 3rd car over having to rely on a RT.
  15. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Sadly, this is the realization I have come to over the last couple of days. I have been using FSD (now v12.3.4) everyday and I just don't see the value in it of why people in large numbers would pay for it. At best I see it as a replacement for Uber/Lyft, but even with that, it's still a long...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

So basically, sell now if you think autonomy/RTs can’t be solved anytime soon, if at all, or go all in if you think that not only will it be solved in a reasonable time frame but it will also be very profitable.
  17. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I don’t necessarily want to come off as disagreeing with this post as I respect all your contributions here. However, I have seen some of these arguments for RT written here before as if they are a fact but I am having a hard time wrapping my small brain around some of these. Where is everyone...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I would like a better explanation how there would be a huge reduction of passenger vehicles. Why would a huge amount of people give up their cars? Also, if that did happen, there would still need to be as many cars to move people during rush hour, where are these cars going during the day? They...
  19. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I find it hard to believe that people will give up car ownership in large numbers. Scrapping the $25k car I think would be a huge mistake. As it is, Tesla doesn't have many options for reasonably priced mass produced cars. A sedan and a small crossover, that's it. Very disappointed that they...

  21. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I love your confidence and hope you are correct. However, when I use FSD 12.3.3 I always come away thinking, sure this is cool tech but it’s nowhere close to being RT ready, if ever. I would need to see big improvements over the next few software versions to even begin thinking RTs are going...

    FSD now $99 a month

I do like ALC. wish I could just get that.
  23. C

    FSD now $99 a month

Maybe it’s location dependent as I always need to take over. I like the tech but becomes more of a hassle for me to use.
  24. C

    FSD now $99 a month

How has it saved your life many times? If anything, I have saved FSDs life many times.
  25. C

    FSD now $99 a month

What makes it worth it even at $99?
  26. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I agree. I just had it do a couple dangerous things and had to turn it off. Scared my wife. maybe it’s a lot different in California but at least for me I don’t see how it would be worth $100 per month.

Those that have gone from a Model X to Cybertruck, are you happy with the switch?

The model Y does what you describe for the mirrors. I would assume the CT is the same unless you saw something different. Also, the model Y doesn't come with homelink either but just make a service ticket and they will come to your house to install it. I would assume they would do the same for...

Those that have gone from a Model X to Cybertruck, are you happy with the switch?

I can't help answer your question but I have a question for you. Are you implying that the CT doesn't have auto folding mirrors? That is a bummer as I would want to park in my garage and every inch helps. For homelink, I don't see why you can't have tesla install it on the CT like they did with...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I have similar issues. While it is cool tech I still need to disengage multiple times on my 7 mile commute. Especially on the way home out of the city, I don’t even try using it anymore in this situation as it is useless and causes to many problems. I am not sure how they would even fix the...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Thats crazy...and I thought the $500 (including materials but not the tesla wall connector) I paid an electrician was steep for only a few hours of work.
  31. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Just one data point, but my current electricity cost is less than 0.06 cents per kWh when charging off peak. Most of my electricity comes from NG and some hydro. I think people around here are bad at math or simply don’t understand how to even compare TCO between an ev and ice vehicle.
  32. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

In regards to FSD. I just got a text from Tesla advertising that I could get 1 month of FSD if I buy a Tesla. Am I the only one here that doesn’t see any value in that? I’m somewhat of a tech nerd (relative to everyone else in my bubble) and while I think the current version of FSD is pretty...

I agree to a certain extent about him being a target of misinformation. However, he does text his opinions a lot and a lot of them are controversial which will inherently give people a reason to hate him. I have always defended him and pointed out misinformation in my inner circle up until...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Exactly...same reason I don't email/post my opinions (etc. political, etc) to all of my clients. Yes, a good percentage of them will agree with my opinions, but a big enough percentage of them would be completely turned off by them that it would hurt my business.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It's not about popularity imo. Tim Cook isn't polarizing and most people are indifferent about him. In fact, most people are indifferent about the CEO of any product they buy. While Elon has his fans and a higher "popularity" rating, he has a large amount of people that hate him so much they...

Anyone visit the Ticonderoga, NY supercharger?

Where are you seeing a SC listed in Ticonderoga, NY? I don't see one on the Tesla website map.
  40. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think it will be a huge challenge, but I am no expert. I got the free month trial of 12.3.3. While it seems better then when I had FSD for a month last summer, it is still not even close to being able to handle my short 7 mile commute. At least for me, I see no value in it except for maybe the...

    Honest review of the Cybertruck

Ironically, I want the CT (not at the current price) but the only thing that would keep me from buying it is I don't want the attention. When you say the range is terrible compared to the Y what do you mean specifically? Isn't the CT rated at 340 and the Y at 310? I have the Y and I am fine...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Perviously it was after Christmas, then after border bill then after etc, etc. I will believe it when I see it. Mike Johnson just continues to delay it and can’t be trusted. Hopefully this time it does happen.

    Honest review of the Cybertruck

Thanks for your review. I am glad you think it looks great in person at least. Question, would your opinion change at all if the same AWD truck cost $60K (or less with rebate)? For me, based on the reviews/videos, there is a lot to like, but I am not paying $100,000. Pricing, imo, can...

Prediction, in Which Year Will New Electric Vehicle Sales Exceed 50% in the United States "Poll"

The EX30 is very small. Smaller than the XC40 Recharge which felt very small to me compared to my Model Y.
  46. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Gotcha. I misread your post. I thought you were researching what your insurance would cost you if you bought a Model Y to compare against other potential cars you are looking at.
  47. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

That is some crazy high insurance costs. I have a model Y and I am not even close to that amount. My insurance costs is not much more than my wife’s Kia telluride insurance. I wonder why the insurance for a MY would be so much higher in your area than mine?
  48. C

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

I doubt it also but for different reasons...Mike Johnson will always come up with an excuse not to provide the necessary aid to Ukraine or do anything about the border. He and Trump will always side with Putin on this. Only chance of aid getting to Ukraine in time is if the House is able to...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

I don't buy it...I will believe it when I see it but I don't think he will allow a vote. Only chance is if they can bypass him imo.
