Paintless Dent Repair in Toronto? (PDR)

I can't tell but how much of that damage is on the 3M? It may be worth checking with whoever did your 3M it may have helped save some of the damage. I got touched in a parking lot and my 3M was ruined but when we removed it the paint was totally fine.

    Why you need paint protection...

My marketing firm in Ottawa uses Upper Class Detailing who also uses cQuartz Finest. On my end I had my front end done with Marco from Advanced Automotive and my cQuartz Finest done with GTA In Detail (they share a shop, or at least did when I brought them my cars a few years ago). I did what...

Opticoat - Toronto, GTA, Peterborough, Belleville, Kingston area?

Kevin did my M3 with opti coat which was the only coating available at the time, he did my Tesla with cquartz. Both needed a lot of work, it is hard to compare because I use my Tesla every day and I keep my m3 indoors, doesnt see rain, etc. Both clean up great and both look shiny to me. My m3...

Opticoat - Toronto, GTA, Peterborough, Belleville, Kingston area?

I am sure Kevin is still in business. I was at his shop for a wash a few weeks ago. He has paint corrected and coated both my cars in the past few years. I doubt he is out of business in fact he is probably just very busy right now.

Drafty Cabin - Report issues here please!

Thanks. I asked because it was much worse today despite being warmer, but it was very windy. I always turn recirculate off. I guess I will take a trip to service to see what they say.

Drafty Cabin - Report issues here please!

Do you guys notice this getting progressively worse? I'm not sure if this thread is making me paranoid but on really cold days I do feel a slight draft in that area and it seems to be getting a little worse as time goes on.

Opticoat - Toronto, GTA, Peterborough, Belleville, Kingston area?

I got the film from the guy Kevin works with, Marco. I think his business name is Advanced Films. He did my entire bumper, hood, fenders and lights. Not the strip, the whole panels. It was ~1500 dollars. He will do the strip on the front for much less money but I wanted to avoid the lines and...

Opticoat - Toronto, GTA, Peterborough, Belleville, Kingston area?

The wrap and opti coat are for different things. The wrap is for protection against stone chips. It's a urethane film. I had it applied to all the leading edges of my Tesla. It is not cheap, but it seems very resistant to road debris. On my other car when I purchased it it had a clear bra but it...

Opticoat - Toronto, GTA, Peterborough, Belleville, Kingston area?

+1 I had GTA In Detail do both my cars, awesome work and really nice guy. Also had his partner do the clear bra on my Tesla.

    Paint shop recommendations in Toronto

I have actually, personally, used and paid for work from three wrapping businesses in the GTA; I have no affiliation whatsoever with any of them. I had my clear film on my tesla applied with advanced mobile group (marco), he may also do vinyl, I don't know, but if he does that would be my...

    Car detailer in Toronto

I contacted my guy yesterday about an unrelated issue and he let me know opti coat pro was recently changed, and if you're going to get it to make sure the guy doing it is using the professional version with "the primer". He said cquartz has not changed.

    Car detailer in Toronto

I had opti coat applied to my daily driver earlier this year. The paint did need some polishing before it was applied, had some swirls and scratches. I was very happy with the job. Anyone who would like the info of the guy who did it can feel free to PM me. I would be wary of anyone soliciting...

Where are Touchless Car Washes in Toronto?

It's embedded contamination. Every car has it, you see it on lighter colored cars. It generally comes from brakes/exhaust but it's also from environmental stuff; my wife used to work beside a recycling plant and her white car had the little dots all the time. Basically it's tiny little bits of...

    What's the best tint film?

The only issue I ever had with HO is that on a lot of cars the installer can not physically get it on the rear window, due to the curvature of the window and the thickness of HO film. I asked like...10+ local installer who use HO here and none would put it on my rear window without using 2 to 4...

    What's the best tint film?

I also used crystalline for the first time on my current car; I did 90% on the windshield (which is not legal here :x), but at 90% it is optically clear and virtually undetectable (which would be nice for someone who wants heat rejection but no darkening). I did 40% everywhere else. It is about...

Another set of aftermarket wheels: BBS

I think they look great; I love that style. It is really amazing how this car makes 19s look average sized!

    Hydrophobic glass treatment

My wipers don't chatter at all. On my wifes car her wipes chattered whenever I used aquapel or rainx but it turned out the wipers had some sort of treatment on them (rainx wipers I guess?), so it was like doubling up or something, they would skip like crazy. I cleaned them really well with...

    Hydrophobic glass treatment

I had cQuartz Flyby30 applied to my windshield. I like it so far, but it hasn't been long. It definitely clears the water away quickly at anything over ~50kph. It's supposed to last 8 months, we'll see. Carpro Flyby 30 Glass Coating -light mist performance - YouTube

I wonder how easy (or difficult) it would be to get msds for some of these products.

/thumbsup - looking forward to seeing the results in 6 months to a year, that should really show what's what.

Car Care: Controlled experiment - test gloss and durability of the top paint finishes

Awesome, thank you for the reply. I asked because, admittedly, I am rooting for one product in particular (it's on my car, I won't tell!); and I know that it requires some time to flash, then to cure without being wetted , etc. As for marring resistance, I agree... I think any product will...

Car Care: Controlled experiment - test gloss and durability of the top paint finishes

I may be wrong, but I believe artsci is using the original cQuartz (the one still available to consumers). He mentioned it in the first post; read the thread, may have missed him using Finest instead. Finest and the original cQuartz are definitely different animals. - - - Updated - - - Also, I...
