That's not how they mean it. It's not transferrable. Next does mean subsequent. When it's on the inventory page, you don't own it yet.

There's nothing to remedy. Just wait. We're in very similar situations, except I ordered a few days earlier.

Maybe all the Model Y vins are in between. I ordered two days after you and no vin yet in source code.
