    Supercharger - Richardson, TX

Just went by there this evening. Looks all done except for the transformer.

    Supercharger - Richardson, TX

Was by there last week, didn't see anything going on yet.

    Supercharger - Lindale, Texas

The two chargers closest to IH20 (southernmost) aren't working. On Friday I tried charging on the one on the end and got a charging error message on my screen. Same thing happened on the next one over. I was getting nervous thinking that this was a problem with my car. Then I went over to one of...

    Supercharger - Richardson, TX

Went by there this morning, still nothing going on.

    Supercharger - Tyler, TX

Hot dam! Just what the doctor ordered. Will definitely help relieve congestion at the Lindale station.

    Supercharger - Richardson, TX

"Could use one or two further east but this is a good start."
  8. electric miles

    Supercharger - Richardson, TX

Nice, less than 10 minutes from my house. CityLine parking lots are often full of Teslas. Finally a SC station within the metroplex east of 75 (not counting those right on 75). Could use one or two further east but this is a good start.

    Supercharger - Haltom City, TX

Good. Now hopefully Fuel City will install these Superchargers at their other locations soon.
  10. electric miles

    Supercharger - Haltom City, TX

So I went by today and the answer is "I don't know". They are obviously completely installed but I didn't see any in use so it's not clear if they received the final clearance. I didn't drive there in a Tesla so I couldn't try it for myself.
  11. electric miles

    Supercharger - Haltom City, TX

I'm going to that Fuel City Wednesday to make a delivery so I'll see then if the chargers are up and running.
  12. electric miles

    Supercharger - Haltom City, TX

I saw 12 stalls. The left side of the area fenced off could easily take on four more but it doesn't look as if they're going to install anything in that portion. I think they're using that space to put construction-related stuff like a trailer and spools of cables. You can sort of see what I'm...

    Supercharger - Haltom City, TX

Coincidentally, I had to deliver some popcorn snacks to this Fuel City today, so FWIW I went ahead and snapped some pics of the progress:

    Supercharger - Haltom City, TX

Yes, Fuel City's are like miniaturized Bucee's.
  15. electric miles

    Supercharger - Haltom City, TX

That would be outstanding if it comes to fruition. The Wylie and Mesquite Fuel City locations are no where near existing SC stations.
  16. electric miles

    Supercharger - Terrell, TX

Made a quick drive by on my way out of DFW this morning. They’re still working to finish this up:
  17. electric miles

Supercharger - Plano, TX - Windhaven Parkway

Yep. Was there yesterday starting out at 32% SOC and that's pretty much what happened.
  18. electric miles

    Plano, TX - Downtown (possible)

Don't want to speak for @homero89 but I think he's referring to what pulled up when he clicked on the pin's link. Preston Rd is no where near where that pin is placed.
  19. electric miles

    Plano, TX - Downtown (possible)

Thanks. I realize this thread doesn't really belong here, I'll delete it in the next day or so.
  20. electric miles

    Plano, TX - Downtown (possible)

That would explain what happened several years when I previously saw this pin there. It turned out to be the Shops of Legacy location. So what, if anything, can we take from this? That they are planning a SC station somewhere in Plano that we're not yet privy to?
  21. electric miles

    Plano, TX - Downtown (possible)

Looked at Tesla's Supercharger map today and found where a Supercharger station is planned next quarter right in the heart of downtown Plano, at 15th and Ave K. I have a vague memory of seeing this location tagged for an upcoming SC station before some 3-4 years ago and it never materialized, so...
  22. electric miles

    Supercharger - New Braunfels, TX

New Braunfels Buc-ee's is best Buc-ee's (in Texas) according to this guy. OK, so not very on-topic but having Superchargers didn't figure at all into his rankings and my admittedly biased self thinks it should. Nonetheless, a pretty decent read...
  23. electric miles

    Supercharger - McKinney, TX

Interesting, it's 3.3 miles/7 minutes from the Supercharger station they are planning for Allen, also on Stacy Road. Sam Rayburn travelers will soon have a lot of options.
  24. electric miles

Supercharger - Plano, TX - Windhaven Parkway

Agreed. And so close to Toyota's North American HQ, it feels almost like trolling
  25. electric miles

Supercharger - Plano, TX - Windhaven Parkway

That helps for sure, but those locations are outside of DFW.
  26. electric miles

Supercharger - Plano, TX - Windhaven Parkway

Then they need to put one on 121, not another one off the Dallas Tollway in Plano.
  27. electric miles

Supercharger - Plano, TX - Windhaven Parkway

Then why not just expand/upgrade that one? There's certainly room for it instead of putting a whole new one just 5 minutes away with less restaurants/hotels/living units within walking distance and also further away from 121. I could not agree more the the entire DFW area is very underbuilt...
  28. electric miles

Supercharger - Plano, TX - Windhaven Parkway

That checks out. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense for Tesla to put a Supercharger station there, at least at this time.

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

Even after all the issues that have come out with the MME, some in the media are still in love with it. This reads like a "Paid Content" type article: Ford’s Mustang Mach-E electric crossover is a hit with industry insiders — that could help it take on Tesla

Rivian delayed again (now Sep for R1T, 2 month additional delay)

In all fairness to Rivian, they expect to deliver R1T’s before the November IPO. And for all we know, they may have already delivered 80 delivery vans to Amazon.

Rivian delayed again (now Sep for R1T, 2 month additional delay)

Was just coming here to post that. I'd also add that Rivian's pickups aren't quite as massive as the Lightnings (about 15" shorter), they could carve out a nice niche selling to customers who'd like to be able fit their trucks in the garage.

Installing Amazon Echo Auto in Model Y.

I know that the Echo Auto can be USB powered, just not sure what kind of USB cable comes with it. I have the console with the USB-C ports, too, but I figured I can get the right USB adapter (or cable) for cheap regardless of what kind of USB cable actually comes with the Echo.

Installing Amazon Echo Auto in Model Y.

It was still selling for $20 today so after reading through this thread, I felt like the Echo Auto was well worth the risk for that price.

    Model Y Build Quality Improving?

I saw that about blind-spot detection but thought you were discussing the rear cross-traffic alert. That said, I was wrong. They do use cameras for some safety features, but not the rear cross-traffic alert. I found elsewhere that radar is used for that. It's halfway down this page: Subaru...

Smart Summon Drove My Model Y Into A Tree - July 2021

I've used Smart Summon a few times just for sh!ts and giggles, as recently as yesterday. After watching this video, it's clear that I should quit doing that while I'm ahead.

Wanting a model Y from Texas

You won't get to pick which factory your MY comes from. If it goes like what Musk had said in the past, it's going to depend on where the car is to be delivered, i.e., east US deliveries from Texas, west US deliveries from Fremont. It could take up to a year before Tx MY's get the 4680...

Mercedes EQS reviews published - longest range and most luxurious ride of all EVs?

Thanks for breaking it down for us @Just a Reader According to this article below, the EQS price is estimated to be about $113,000. That's a little cheaper than an S Plaid, much more expensive than the base Model S. Supposed to arrive in the US this fall...

Really? Is no one talking about the Chevy Bolt?

I hope you're right about that, but these reports of Bolts catching fire have been in the mainstream news. I'm no GM fan either but I want to see public acceptance of all EVs and from afar, the Bolt looked like one of the best EV values out there. Even though this isn't applicable to the current...

Is Net Metering a Must in Texas?

Power outages were pretty common for the 13 years I lived in SA. Maybe CPS has upped their game since then but it's still all under the ERCOT grid and the entire grid was minutes away from a complete shutdown last February. Hope your luck continues, though.

Rivian delayed again (now Sep for R1T, 2 month additional delay)

Was fully expecting this after not hearing a peep from Rivian as their prior July deliveries timeline arrived. Reading between the lines, it sounds like the main culprit is the chip shortage that's impacting the entire auto industry; not much they can do about this. Hopefully, the start of...

Really? Is no one talking about the Chevy Bolt?

For all the media hype over the Mach-E, the Bolt sold more than twice as much in the US for the first four months of the year (13,611 vs 6,104). It was America's best selling EV that's not a Tesla. Given that these two models were the closest to M3 and MY sales and both are experiencing...
