Here's a heads up - I called the service center about this fan noise. Guy at Menlo Park confirmed that in 4.4 (I'm on 4.4) someone set a fan temp threshold incorrectly. He said that it would be fixed in the next firmware update "which I think is coming out this week?" (his question mark)...

Good news, 60-kwh red plebs: I called up the Build My Model S hotline yesterday - my end of line is scheduled for May 6, tentative delivery window is May 10-24. Reservation number is in the 13,000's, finalized early February. We haven't been forgotten!
