Charged to 90% @ Kingman on 2018 M3 LR because nav was routing me up to I-15. Nav said Needles out of service. I checked on my way & sure enough semi ICEing stalls & no lights on pedestals. Made it to Barstow OK with some judicious use of speed & AC (108 outside!).

Yep, prefab units go in rather quickly. Still don't see any transformer in the photos, so a lot of wiring & final check by Tesla still to go. I often take I-20 on my way to SoCal from MS. Looking forward to more along the route. ESp. Dallas - Mountain Creek Pkwy location currently in permitting.

I keep looking for one right on I-20 between Lindale & Cisco so as to not have a stop in the Dallas-Ft. Worth craziness. I have an early 2018 M3 LR so it has been doable by charging to 100% @ either end, but it's rather a long drive & I don't like to go below 20% unless it's necessary.

I have done that too. Route to a nearby charger (assuming there are any) and just before you get there reroute to the new one which isn't showing yet. Won't be full preconditioned, but should help. I've also done the opposite when trying to squeeze a little more range out, to route to a non-SC...
