My nightmare relationship with Tesla came to an end today

My assessment is that a lot of this was down to " service technician ". Why were they replacing all these parts at the front end? What were the problems that triggered the fitting of all these 'apparently faulty' spare parts? And also charge ports and rear lights. Looks a lot like my...

Driving to France and Switzerland - advice needed

Here's a picture from the Gotthard Pass (on our way back from Italy). Great drive both up and down just using the one pedal, especially on the hairpins. Coming down put 30kms back in the battery! The Mercedes in front had his foot on the brake virtually the whole time! Only problem was the...

Need a mini fridge for the centre console!

I bought this as it actually fits in the Model 3 'lower boot'. I just turned the panel 90 to partially cover the hole and you still have good boot space, (don't enclose the fridge the heat needs to escape). Worked well during the recent heatwave on our first European trip. The car turns off the...

    [UK] 2022.12.x

Surely I can't be the first to get 12.3.5 last night. Need to go and look what it brings. :):(

The Pub - OT posts and discussions

Why with all that electric gear are you still buying fossil fuel? My wife has been mowing the lawn with battery electric machine (Bosch) for the last 5 years, probably more hours than I've driven the Tesla so far :D.

Test Drive tomorrow - what to look out for?

The main problem I have with the white dash is in sunny conditions. The reflection of it in the driver's window washes out the view in the door mirror - it's all I can see. Usual solution is to open the window so there is no reflection - usually not raining when the sun is out! - otherwise use...

Stekker.app - green and solar optimised charging app

I have the Kaluza Smart+ (with OVO, finally installed in January) and this monitors the grid carbon intensity to decide when to offer charging when you haven't got any pre-defined schedule (only covered 2,200 miles in the last year, most of those from my own solar using the UMC!) See how well...

Where is regen setting on Model 3

When we are driving and the speedometer is indicating, I think we know we are in 'drive'.;) The only time there might be some confusion is when we are stationary and are selecting Drive or Reverse, then instead of showing '0' for speed it should show 'D' or 'R' instead. Likewise the speed can...

    FSD Invoice after OTA Upgrade

Why does software nowadays have this crazy feature of hiding what you need to see to use it. There is plenty of space on the screen for all the features/functions available - usually just lots of unused white space.

Tesla All Weather Protection Kit [mudflaps/ppf] - Anyone in the UK Been Contacted?

I just tried today. The product page has a picture of the flap and front wheel, but nothing to say what you're buying until you click above the buy button, then shows the options. Selected mudflats and filled in the next page name address etc and the redemption code. Amount to pay goes to £0.00...

    Charger installation - Berkshire

Well that makes 3 of us in Thatcham! Expecting an installation date in the near future by Ovo/ChargedEV, postponed from March/April. Keeping the car topped up with solar via the 3 pin plug. (record solar for May of 530kwh, but I haven't had much chance to use that!)

The rubber things at the top of the bonnet...

Thanks Pilotpem for the link to the parts list. I think the missing part is M3 Cowl Screen Carrier Bracket RH 1118934-00-B I've arranged for mobile service to come and fix my car next Monday.

The rubber things at the top of the bonnet...

Looks like the same problem I have on the driver's side. Keep meaning to send this picture to service. There seems to be a piece missing that fits into the single hole visible just under the edge of the wing. Can't see exactly what's missing as I didn't want to take the passenger side bits apart...

    White seat covers? Thoughts?

The white dash coordinates well with the rest of the white option (more so than the 'wood' with the black), but I have found one big practical problem when it's sunny and you look in the door mirrors the reflection in the window glass virtually obscures the view. Problem can be solved by winding...

Baggy front passenger door seal anyone?

Just giving mine its clean up and ceramic treatment yesterday and noticed that the seal on the driver's door was 'drooping'. Pushed it back in place - still quite sticky and still in place today after more door opening/closing. The driver's door has always seemed to need a heavier push to close...

Octopus are paying you to use electricity 5th April

I'll certainly be feeding the sunshine from my PV panels into mine tomorrow rather exporting it and upsetting the grid! Probably be about 16kWh (64 miles?), glad I decided to upgrade from SR+ to LR (currently at 228miles).

    Software update over LTE

Well my LRAWD informed me of an update (2020.4.2) the other day and as I was having issues trying to authenticate my phone as a key I set it to update - took about 25 mins. I don't see any reference to WiFi on the screen or in the manual. My screen says LTE. Has anybody had issues with the phone...

Car not waking up via app

Car was delivered by Heathrow guys last Wednesday. I thought it was a good idea to leave it untouched for a few days as I'm not going anywhere and I couldn't connect to it by the app. Now it does show up on the app (and has 223 miles in the tank). Haven't noticed any physical problems at the...
