This Latest Attempt to Force FSD Upon Everyone is Hurting the FSD Cause More Than Helping

FSD is only worth 3K in my book. Prior to trial, I thought maybe 6K. I might rent it for a long trip in the future. All this has shown me is that my camera in the cabin is busted, fsd will not work at night.
  7. CrazyRabbit

FSD fails/error at night, will not activate.

My FSD trial started yesterday. tried it this morning, 6:00 am, and it wouldn’t engage as it was complaining that the camera was covered up. It isn’t covered, it is just dark out. Does my cabin camera need replacing? Anyone else ?

    Starting March 2, phantom drain

Am I the only one? Sentry mode is disabled at home, work and favorites. I’ve noticed the fan running much more often. If is very cool out, so it shouldn’t be running like it is. I think a sensor is bad or something.

    37 kw load on powerwalls

Just trying to get solar back up! 16Gw shut down because PW were full. Plus I’ve really haven’t stress tested them, no magic smoke came out.

    37 kw load on powerwalls

Grid outage, charging the MY with portable cord, two furnace on trying to drain powerwalls so solar returns. Might as well charge the car up, don’t want to let any power go to waste. Fans in Powerwalls didn’t come, but it is in the 50’s.

Starting March 2 I’ve been suffering phantom drain. I’m guessing that aligns with software update. Cat consumes mor sitting then driving twice a day!

What is your highest solar production?

    I’m dumb, I ment power 20.1 Kw. 144 KWh on 4/29/2023
  14. CrazyRabbit

What is your highest solar production?

I caught 20.1 Kwh, some edge effect. Usually around 16 kwh. Can’t post image! Server error!

    Climate Change Denial

East coast grid was having rolling blackouts (3 of the six regulatory agencies on the east coast grid) at the same time during Uri. East cost grid couldn’t even help its self! Can always count on the useful idiots.

Absolutely not true. All power plants have epa permits, some times they are allowed to exceed emissions during storms.

Can I use Home Assistant (or any other method) to limit my powerwalls max SoC or charge rate?

PW2 has 948 cells, 21700 cells @ 20wh per cell that is 18,960wh per powerwall. 13,500/18,960=70%, so looks like tesla pw charges to 80% and discharges to 10%. Seems reasonable to me. you can set the reserve....

    Voltage Offgrid

Holds solid at my house, year round. My solar causes a 2-4V rise at the micro inverters.
  37. CrazyRabbit

    Voltage Offgrid

TRUE, except for resistive loads. AC motors use more current as well as switching power supplies. I haven’t checked heating elements, but they fall in the class of things I don’t care about, and long gone are incandescent light bulbs which were resistive. You can plug a modern computer power...
  38. CrazyRabbit

    Voltage Offgrid

True, but my stuff is use to the high side of the tolerance for US voltage. Running off grid at lower then my normal voltage could case something to fail. And if powerwall puts out 120V/240V at inverter, voltage at devices will be 2 volts lower if they pull much current.
  39. CrazyRabbit

    Voltage Offgrid

Lower the input voltage, the higher the current. Current causes heat and devices to fail. Also motors might not start with lower voltage, causing motors to burn up.
  40. CrazyRabbit

    Voltage Offgrid

i wish powerwall would use the same grid voltage when off grid. my grid is 126V/252V. i feel the lower voltage (120V/240V) will cause devices on the verge of failing to not work... also, higher voltages lower the current in powerwall, so good for powerwall.

Does anyone have experience with a SolarEdge system (panels + battery) and a SolarEdge EV charger?

Because I don’t believe I will keep getting net metering, and I was right. My co-op just ended it, but I will be grand fathered in for 10 years. They are going to start charging me for the Brazos bankruptcy for all energy delivered, so no longer 1:1. They are offering a new plan, and all new...

Who makes gateway type devices for 400A service homes?

Since you asked, you haven’t searched the forums. Best option with tesla install is loads calculation and consolidate nearly all loads if not all onto larger circuit panel. If private installer, they may do taps and feeders to two panels.

Has anyone fed TWO 200amp subpanels from ONE 200amp disconnect using ONE Gateway?

You don’t need to as long as 200 amp breaker is installed in TEG
  45. CrazyRabbit

Has anyone fed TWO 200amp subpanels from ONE 200amp disconnect using ONE Gateway?

I ran into the same resistance. Ended up combining two 40 circuit panels into a 80 circuit panel. They are idiots, but they got their thumb on the scales.

Discussion: Powershare [V2X feature currently announced for Cybertruck]

Exactly with solar. I don’t have such an agreement with poco. I’m interested to see how it behaves with large and small powerwall setups. Then there are additional load panel back feed issues which will need to be resolved. For me, it seems possible to land the charger in my generation panel...

Discussion: Powershare [V2X feature currently announced for Cybertruck]

V2H would kind of be useless without V2PW. If powerwalls are empty, then house shuts down while you go find a charge. I don’t see any technical challenges to this, really not any different then mixing with solar or generator. That’s why I want to see demo of feature with powerwall. I wish...

Discussion: Powershare [V2X feature currently announced for Cybertruck]

I combined my house onto a larger, more circuits, 200 amp panel and back up that panel with gateway. Do loads calculation. I got backed up panel and non backed up panel. I did have Tesla use 3/0 copper for everything since my panels will have 200 amps on them, well at least house. I will...
