Wiki Consolidated eMMC Thread (MCU repair) (Black Center Screen)

It's odd with how much Tesla has had to spend replacing the parts of motors, lights, batteries, and MCUs . That they are seeming to go down the road toward hoping that people will over look the design flaws to just have something with that magical "T" on it. Now I'm not even going to pretend...

It covers most of the basic stuff, no one seems to really want to get into the more technical end. Though they do totally cover the brakes, lights, oddly enough whippers, and towing.

I bought my 2013 Tesla though a third party. the extended warranty I got didn't cover the mcu even though most of extra control functions are run though it. I put out the money to replace the eMMC through a third party because I don't want to have to replace the whole unit ,then in another 2-5...

Since my MCU Looks like it had been replaced before mine had the LTE on it already. I'll have to do the screen curing fix because of the yellowing around the boarder. I'm glad they use a better memory then Tesla. there are some things that I'm fixing with the car now that are just those small...

Manufacture date on the MCU was 6-6-2018. I've only owned the car for about 2 months now. I'm very much the kind of person who isn't going to wait till the unit dies before I replace it. I drive down a pretty busy highway when i work. Model number for the unit is 1045006-00-D. Not sure if it...

While I've been doing some hunting for Replacement services for my eMMC I chose to have Tony from the forms here do the work. I also contacted Chris from electric garage, and 057 technologies for the replacement. Chris came back with a much higher replacement cost, yet a really fast turn around...

Will do. I will try and package it safely enough that it will be easy to repack and send back.

Man that would be awesome, However I live in Orlando FL . My two saving graces are I work in the IT field, and have a fair amount of experience doing auto work. the most stressful thing will be the packaging and shipping the MCU. Needless to say one day shipping will be the only option . That...

Thank you ! I'll give that a shot. I mean worse comes to worse and I will just replace the whole screen . I'm glad Tesla put enough thought into the dash assembly to at least make it fairly easy to take apart and put back together. My MS has needed some TLC for sure. I'm the second owner. The...

I got a similar quote for the replacement of my MCU when I had my service on my drive unit. MCU NA PREMIUM MODEL S/X(1045006-00-J) Is the part number I was given and a $2K bill if i want it replaced with the unit. I would rather have the chip replaced with a more durable one. My MCU will need to...
