We're two months quiet on this one. L2 still not on as a week or so ago. Can we redouble efforts here? Can folks report this in their cars as @ChrisC has asked. -Russell

Supercharger - Decatur, GA - East Ponce de Leon Ave

To briefly describe my limited testing procedure: 1. Arrive after dark. 2. Unseat the handle and reseat it, assuming that would be enough to get it to light up. 3. Observe, toss cables back over on the safe side of concrete bumper. 4. Repeat X 3. I'll get by there again tomorrow evening...

Supercharger - Decatur, GA - East Ponce de Leon Ave

I unfortunately lack the equipment to plug in and test. Looking for lights is all I can do without some assistance. That said, I will look for lights this evening and update the sig.

Any luck @ChrisC? I'll get over there again before the weekend and verify that they are still down.

Closest SC to that Miami address is this guy: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/supercharger-miami-fl-south-dixie-highway.192160/ I'm new to this forum and will try to avoid out-kicking my coverage.

On that note, is the property owner someone local that has business hours? Maybe an exceptionally friendly visit would help. UPDATE: No, I see the Miami address. That's discouraging. Unless maybe we can find the SC very near the address and engage a local. Hmm.

Always fine to give me a polite nudge. I'm only a block away. Hard to say if maybe those L2s are still on somebody's list or if they've been lost in the shuffle. Whole lotta nothing happening though.

I saw that, still no check-ins. Anytime now I figure.

Not yet showing at all on www.tesla.com/findus or as live on plugshare. Looking forward to having this option.

Always a waiting game. Hope these are lit up by October. :)

    Convert NEMA 5-20 to 6-20?

That makes sense. The usage is different. RV has much more complex and specific requirements. EV can and should take whatever it can get.

    Convert NEMA 5-20 to 6-20?

So here's a related question a whole entire year later. "The Tesla charging cable and the charger inside the car don't care if they are 240V or 120V; they will detect and use whatever it is. So to wire this up, you are just remapping the Hot and Neutral of the TT-30 to the Hot1 and Hot2 of...

Stopped by to check this evening and the L2 J-plugs are not lighted. Clearly if I posted that in here every week I'd just fill the thread up, the way things are going. Decided I'd repurpose my signature for this until it's settled. So if you're curious when I last checked on the J-plugs here...

I rather foolishly was watching for progress on PlugShare and not here. Rookie mistake. Though I now see that you are the same ChrisC over there. I'll stop by and see if the L2s are lit up sometime today. -R

So this might have been far more useful 6 months ago when this thing was being constructed, but I am right around the corner from this station. Wanted to get my name in this thread. Folks could DM if there was some question more serious than how many vehicles are there. I can easily walk over...

This one is going to help me too. Here's a question that's probably been asked in 16 other places. Timing? Last one I watched close took about 5 months. But I bet we sometimes see them handled in 6 weeks don't we? I'm guessing they range from 6 weeks to 6 months? I'll use it in October...

    Convert NEMA 5-20 to 6-20?

To be clear, I'll be buying nice professionally made adapters, I'm just educating myself. Always more to learn. Enjoying the discussion. Thanks all. Some of these RV lookup sites show 20 amps too. Which appears to just be a 5-20. I'm surprised at this too. Seems like TT-30 should be the...

    Convert NEMA 5-20 to 6-20?

https://www.evseadapters.com/products/nema-14-30-adapter-for-tesla-model-s-and-x-gen-1/ That might be a better example, but both I think illustrate the point you are trying to make.

    Convert NEMA 5-20 to 6-20?

I'm mostly following, you can convert to 120v from a 14-30 because there are two hots and a neutral, you can just choose one hot. I know that EVSEs can't detect amps, if they could this would all be much easier, but they can detect voltage? Presumably I don't quite follow this because of my...

    Convert NEMA 5-20 to 6-20?

That does make sense, thank you. OFF-TOPIC: Anybody have a favorite RV camp map that can easily be broken down by plug type? I know if they aren't on PlugShare they'd probably rather not be pulling in charger traffic. I'm looking for something to put in my back pocket for emergencies. Not...

    Convert NEMA 5-20 to 6-20?

Year later update, it's still a TT-30 because I was able to easily add a 14-50 on the ceiling. I like the idea of going to 6-30 with the outdoor plug, but may go farther and go all the way to 14-50 because there are adapters from 14-50 to TT-30 just in case. There aren't any 6-30 to TT-30...

    Convert NEMA 5-20 to 6-20?

That's my assumption too. I'm presently in Georgia, house is in Virginia. I think I have a good grasp on what I'm dealing with now. Thanks all for the explanations and advice. Great thread. -R

    Convert NEMA 5-20 to 6-20?

I can try and elaborate: I'm likely to hire a professional electrician. Just trying to educate myself as much as possible going in. Electricians seem to be like everyone else, sometimes they're smart and thinkers. They get me to the best option. Others just blindly do what I ask of them...

    Convert NEMA 5-20 to 6-20?

It's only 2 wires now, for 120v. I'll need a wire on the other phase to get to 240v. Please do straighten me out if I'm wrong. An electrician I am not. The other question that's arisen overnight is that if I can add a neutral wire that I could have a 14-30. That seems preferable for several...

Ahh and the breaker! Don't forget that.

    Convert NEMA 5-20 to 6-20?

Thank you much. My google-fu suggests that I need: 1 strand of 10 gauge wire 1 6-30 receptacle 1 6-30 adapter for my charger, likely to come from a 3rd party Thanks! -Russell

    Convert NEMA 5-20 to 6-20?

Super useful thread. Thank you all. I looked through and didn't see mention of a related question. Apologies if I missed it. Related question: Will the same approach work on a dedicated circuit 120v TT-30? There are a number of 240v 30amp receptacles obviously. 6-30? 14-30? 10-30? Thank...
