My Experience With EAP Suggests Not Only Won't FSD Go Up In Price, It's Going To Go Down

I’ve been debating on adding EAP to my MY. I have it in my M3 and have enjoyed the feature for 2.5 years. I have especially missed the auto lane change and Navigate on autopilot for long trips. I have struggled with $4k. Here is what changed for me. I read about Cadillac’s Supercruise. It...

Paint Protection Film (PPF) & Ceramic Coating

When i researched this a few years ago I found very few complaints on Xpel. I’m out 2.5 years on a Midnight Silver 3. Probably difficult to see any issues on that color. When I explain I have Xpel on the front, people try to find any evidence and come up empty handed. We just had the Xpel...

Paint Protection Film (PPF) & Ceramic Coating

Pinnacle charged $1200 for XPEL on front bumper, hood, mirrors, all four door jam bottoms (where the scuffs appear). I choose not to do the fenders as I did for our M3. I am taking a chance and as I noted above did get a couple tiny chips. For $1900 he includes the fenders. I did the ceramic...

Paint Protection Film (PPF) & Ceramic Coating

I did a front wrap on our M3 2.5 years ago. Bumper, hood, lights and mirrors. I did the ceramic coat on the rest of the car using CQ.UK 3.0. Today it looks fantastic. Two tiny chips on fender between hood and light on driver side. Did the same for my MY. Just picked it up. Shout out to Koosha...

    Replacement T emblems

Just picked mine up after XPel front wrap. (Shout our to Koosha at Pinnacle). I asked him to leave the T off. Did the same on our 3. I like the clean look. Probably not the best pic to show that off.

    White Color Mismatch Unacceptable

After three appointments to fix panels and paint, I feel like I deserve something. I miss the auto lane features on EAP found on our 3. I’d be happy with EAP. Seems fair for all that we have endured just to have a car that looks like it should. It costs Tesla nothing to activate.

Anyone thinking about an VW ID.4 Instead?

    Thanks for sharing!

Anyone thinking about an VW ID.4 Instead?

Did not think about VW but we had thought about Polestar. Tesla is so far ahead in the technology and once we experienced the supercharger network on long drives plus the advances of autopilot it was difficult to picture buying another electric vehicle right now. Sure VW and Volvo have a track...

My Model Y smells, does it happen to yours?

Mine smells like a new car. If it clears after the AC is in seems it must be something in the passenger compartment? Sorry probably not very helpful. Hate to say it but maybe driving it to clear the smell then using the nose to sniff it out after you park?

    White Color Mismatch Unacceptable

Sorry looks like I’m jumping a little late. I have a May 20 build date. Second Tesla. Our first is a M3LR. Build March ‘19. It had a couple paint issues. Quickly resolved. 29k miles later new tires. That’s it. Wonderful experience. Back to my Y. I was very anxious about accepting it but I did...

2000 Mile Roadtrip from LA to Colorado. First long road trip (Pics)

Thanks for sharing your experience bottoms up. Both with your 3 and your trip! Appreciate the detail. We just returned from a trip to Zion and Bryce. Would have taken our Y but could not sort out paint issues and get it wrapped in time. So off in our MDX. I was running something of a virtual...

Software Update for "Home" Tailgate setting (please!)

Love the idea of the original poster. Yes please!! I duct taped a swim noodle on the inside of my garage door as a back up safety message.

    Backseat phone charging

I could not get the cable to insert into the socket. I bought another cable, still no luck. I finally grabbed a flashlight and found the sockets were misaligned (kind of like the body panels) . The part is glued in so set up a service appointment for a replacement.

With so many quality issues after delivery - how many people are actually happy with their car?

I started at the top pulling the frame away from the bumper then pulled down to allow the adhesive strips to slowly pull away. It was done under a minute. I did not want to wait any longer knowing those strips are tougher to remove with time.

With so many quality issues after delivery - how many people are actually happy with their car?

yea that was a little annoying. I guess with the new temporary paper plates the have to do it? Anyway, It’s getting wrapped (apron, hood, lights, mirrors) in a few days, so peeled off the plate holder this morning. It’s the same design as the 3. Held on with 3M tape.

Those that picked up in/near Orange County, CA was the front plate attached?

We picked our Y up last evening (6/16). The plate holder was attached. I peeled the plate holder off this morning as I have some one wrapping the front with XPEL. I started by pulling it from the top slowly. It came off without incident.

With so many quality issues after delivery - how many people are actually happy with their car?

With the nightmarish Model Y stories on YouTube, I had some dread in picking up my Y. Which really bummed me out considering the fantastic experience when picking up my wife’s 3 in March ‘18. Outside of one interior panel not fully clipped in place (It snapped in immediately) the car is great...
