You might want to err towards using Alturas anyway. It looks like the highway closures are heading towards Susanville due to the Dixie Fire.

Sorry, been in vacation mode so forgot to post up about Susanville. Ended up going to Alturas which was a nice pitstop for snacks and restroom. Plus it has an isolated tow-convenient space (if it's not being blocked).
