How many people are having connectivity issues?

Been off for a while - maybe a few weeks? I am based in central London and there is full 5G 4G and 3G coverage, but car shows ‘No Connectivity’. My parking is in a -3 basement with no signal. Model 3 has always had no signal when parked at home but immediately picks up when leaving the garage...

    Found in trunk

I pulled these off as I didn’t like it saying ‘Tesla’ on them, looked a bit ropey. So far (18 months) license plates have stayed on just fine!

LEZ zone London - what the heck do I do?!

The LEZ and ULEZ work differently from Congestion Charging. LEZ and ULEZ only apply to specific vehicles. Only high-emission vehicles that are affected need take any action. Other drivers do not need to register, pay, or take any action. With Congestion Charging, all vehicles are subject to the...

Volvo dealers telling people they can use superchargers

Same experience with Jaguar salesman (a year ago now). It didn’t sound right so I searched online and this was originally how I found this forum - which really helped me make the Tesla choice. A narrow escape, I would find the car much less useful without any supercharger network.

PCN at supercharger Kings Lynn despite reasonable efforts

Friendly staff or not, I cannot agree that this location is ‘hassle free’ in any sense. I did eventually have my three-figure charge for visiting dropped, but the letter I received explains in black and white that no driver may enter this site without a permit, issued beforehand, by the...

PCN at supercharger Kings Lynn despite reasonable efforts

Hotel have now agreed to instruct their contracted firm 'Civil Enforcement Ltd' to cancel the fine. I still don't know for sure what the system is - one poster writes here that there is no permit, but both Civil Enforcement Ltd and hotel staff were adamant that only permit holders are permitted...

PCN at supercharger Kings Lynn despite reasonable efforts

The signs on the fence I thought meant it OK to charge. They specifically say ‘No parking here - electric vehicle charging only’. And have a yellow warning thing, I think maybe a picture of a car plugged in. I genuinely thought that being actively plugged in for just the limited period it takes...

PCN at supercharger Kings Lynn despite reasonable efforts

This ZapMap link isn’t supercharger signage or even about charging and is not the signage I looked for. This is the same sign posted earlier which now I have zoomed in on, it is the hotel sign for the neighbouring hotel and absolutely nothing to do with the supercharger. It specifically says...

PCN at supercharger Kings Lynn despite reasonable efforts

I may not have explained this properly. This was not my suggestion. This is the hotel’s own statement. They also said that they fine pizza delivery drivers if a guest at the hotel happens to order a pizza. I agree that this is absurd and don’t see how either of these facts helps in the slightest.

PCN at supercharger Kings Lynn despite reasonable efforts

I agree that it's not an actual PCN but they head it Penalty Charge Notice and refer to it as a "PCN" in their own letter. I feel like I should really put it in quotes each time. I also don't like their misleading name of 'Civil Enforcement Ltd' as I am convinced the hotel reception fellow was...

PCN at supercharger Kings Lynn despite reasonable efforts

OK, not going so well now. Hotel desk now say they aren't authorised to cancel the fine though they did confirm they are the owner of the land. (Tesla says the fines are issued by the owner of the land and not Tesla.) So this site is private and not intended for public use at all, with charging...

PCN at supercharger Kings Lynn despite reasonable efforts

That sign is either photoshopped on, or has just been erected. I parked in the bay adjacent to that wood structure, and three of us wandered around looking for any signs. But, it also does not help me in the least. I was neither a guest of nor a visitor to this hotel. I honestly thought this...

PCN at supercharger Kings Lynn despite reasonable efforts

Just adding here for clarity - this site IS signposted in that at the entrance driveway, a few hundred metres before you reach the car park, a sign explains that the hotel’s car park is only for authorised users and than ANPR is in use. But, the sign does not explain what the authorisation...

PCN at supercharger Kings Lynn despite reasonable efforts

Correct; it was indeed the Dragonfly hotel and the reception person asked me to email [email protected] with a copy of the fine notice, to get it sorted out. (FD it turns out is front desk). Telephone is 01553 771707.

PCN at supercharger Kings Lynn despite reasonable efforts

Just received my first supercharger private parking ‘PCN’ after charging at Kings Lynn, Norfolk. The site was exactly the type that you’d expect this to happen, based at a hotel. I was highly suspicious about it, checked everything I could think of, and have still ended up with one. Not...

London - Islington borough parking now 20p for unlimited time for EVs

Hi, might be useful for other Londoners… Islington borough has now joined Westminster in having a minimum charge amount, for unlimited stay up to the maximum bay time. So if you park in a street bay in Islington in an EV, you pay 20p and park up to the maximum time allowed by the bay. See...

    Charing query

Which component is it that causes such a fault, if not the car, onboard charger, cable, or outlet? (I am not debating the point And haven’t any knowledge here - just interested to learn which additional components / systems are involved here that I don’t know about.)

    Dartford Delivery experiences

I received a time slot. Travelled by train to the site (bit of a walk from the station.) Arrived on the dot. There was a doorbell to ring and a bloke asked my name and then passed me the two key cards through the door. That was it. Figured out which car by interior / exterior colour. Was...

    Froot luggage

I got the Oscar and Hamish ones in the white & black style (felt appropriate for white interior). Really rate them - more than I would usually spend on bags but they work great. Enough space to pack clothes for a week in one froot half and everything else in the other froot half, leaving the...

Congestion charge exemption, do you need to register your car?

I live within the charging zone, and cannot leave my garage without being immediately inside the zone on a chargeable street. There was previously a resident’s discount but registration for this is now suspended so it’s a daily charge for anyone living in the zone. Registration for either the...
