EnergyMadeEasy electricity plan data via API

Yes, this seems to be how it's used in the API, but an ISO 8601 time of "09:59:00+10:00" means "09:59:00 local time in the +10:00 timezone", not "09:59:00 UTC but in the +10:00 timezone".

EnergyMadeEasy electricity plan data via API

This is a standing offer, presumably there's a market offer that's the same with the discount? { "data": { "type": "STANDING", "brand": "energyaustralia", "planId": "ENE19331SRE30@EME", "fuelType": "ELECTRICITY", "brandName": "EnergyAustralia", "geography": {...

EnergyMadeEasy electricity plan data via API

The API returns this description (which says there's an 18% discount): { "data": { "type": "MARKET", "brand": "energyaustralia", "planId": "ENE379607MRE28@EME", "fuelType": "ELECTRICITY", "brandName": "EnergyAustralia", "geography": { "distributors": [...

EnergyMadeEasy electricity plan data via API

Yeah, it returns this: { "errors": [ { "code": "urn:au-cds:error:cds-all:Header/UnsupportedVersion", "title": "Unsupported Version", "detail": "Header x-v greater than maximum supported [x-v=2, max=1]" } ] } Formatted that way yes but the interpretation is...

EnergyMadeEasy electricity plan data via API

The format of the energy plan that it returns can certainly model some quite complex plans, including time of use period that vary over the year and discounts. If you know the EME plan ID of the Energy Australia plan you're referring to we can pull the description to see how its modelled in the...

The endpoint doesn't seem to support Get Generic Plan Detail v2, even though the documentation for Get Generic Plan Detail v1 says: I also can't seem to find the definition of TimeString in the documentation.

    NSW EV charging master plan

NRMA got Caringbah and Queanbeyan in round 1, Ampol got Maroubra in round 1, Tesla got Griffith and Jindabyne in round 1 (however Griffith is already under construction) and Evie got Mudgee in round 2. So not really any pattern there in the reopened sites that I can see.

    NSW EV charging master plan

It seems like overreach to mandate the method the chargers use to talk to the charging network.

    Supercharger - Macquarie Park, NSW

I wouldn't call that a "fake service call", as far as I know the Service thing is the intended owner contact point with Tesla for reporting all problems.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

It can happen at any point from the production of the vehicle in Shanghai through to sitting in a delivery centre. Frequently it happens while they are en route at sea.

There's some import processing that has to be done, probably CEVA do that at their facility.

I've enagaged lawyers in an attempt to recover FSD cost (Australian owner)

Seems to me like there's a good chance of paying $52 to find out "the hearing was discontinued at the mutual request of both parties", given how short the document apparently is.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

This sounds like a fault with the boot button. I've not noticed any problem like that, anyway. It'll do this if the car has been in the sun and heated up past the set temperature, which can easily happen even when it's cold out.

    Buying a pre-owned Model S in Australia

Good write up! I'd just point out that this is true of the 3 and Y as well: You didn't mention anything about the MCU upgrade?

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

Two-way tariffs don't imply negative FITs at the retail level. I don't expect traditional retailers to implement negative FITs any time soon.

    Superchargers in Australia

I'd give it 6 to 12 months at least. Whatever assessment indicated that a site in that area would be beneficial is still going to be valid.
  22. C

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

If you're on a service like Amber that exposes you to the negative spot prices, you just need an inverter that can be controlled to go into zero-export mode at those times.
  23. C

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

It's the AEMO spot price for your region, averaged to 30 minute intervals, with your network-use-of-service charges added on, and some additional amount for hedging/insurance that Amber obtain against persistent high prices.
  24. C

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

You must have quite a large battery. One Powerwall is only turning $1.35 - $2.70 in revenue if it dumps its whole capacity at 10c - 20c per kWh margin?
  25. C

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

You're in the money anytime it's high enough that the sell price is above the buy price you expect to face for your near future consumption. So it depends on your personal consumption patterns, the state of charge in your battery, how much solar generation you have, and your local distributor...

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

Elevated prices in all 5 NEM regions forecast for this evening between 1700 and 2100. As usual it may not eventuate but that's an unusually long period of elevated prices in the forecast - let us know how you go!

    3G Phase Out

At least the satellite-view maps and the traffic overlay on the maps require actual premium connectivity, not just a hotspot - presumably because Tesla has to pay a per-user monthly fee for those to the data provider. I'm not sure if the traffic-aware routing does though.

    Evie EV charging networks

Tritium is still trading on a "business as usual" basis under the appointed Receivers. They're trying to get the best outcome for the secured creditors (who they represent), so they presumably would like to sell it as a going concern if possible.

    Evie EV charging networks

I chuckled at the shade cast on Chargefox with this line: Shots fired!
  31. C

    Evie EV charging networks

They can get a pretty good estimate knowing the utilisation, distribution of session length and number of chargers at the site, using the mathematics of queuing theory.
  32. C

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

Sadly for you, but happily for electricity consumers in general, it looks like that possible pricing peak was a fizzer.
  33. C

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

This definitely sounds like a service request situation.
  34. C

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

I would have thought it would be better, because it means you'll have more excess to export at the times when you actually get a good FIT (typically at the start and end of the solar day).
  35. C

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

Looks like the latest AEMO forecast run has cut that down substantially. Still a 7:30AM spike tomorrow morning in the forecast, though.

    NRMA fast charging network

That's basically what the machines with two plugs are anyway. They have two cables but it's all connected to one rectifier unit - some can have two cars plug in, but they have to share the power anyhow.
  40. C

Supercharger - Benalla, Vic (Withdrawn June 2024)

Calm the farm. I've always been of the opinion that it's pretty clear that the project was abandoned/suspended/whatever from the Tesla side, as part of the "global Supercharger team sacked" foolishness. All I'm saying is that in the (entirely self-inflicted) inevitable confusion surrounding...

Supercharger - Benalla, Vic (Withdrawn June 2024)

I do wonder whether this representative was someone who'd just been told their position had been made redundant, and were perhaps freelancing to some extent.
  42. C

    NRMA fast charging network

If it's two plugs on the one actual charger unit then it isn't diluting the charger density at all.
  43. C

    Slowest public charger you’ve used?

The poster you're replying to is in Canada, that was 16A @ 110V charging - equivalent to 8A single phase charging here which would be very slow indeed.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

The requirement is in the Road Traffic (Light Vehicle Standards) Rules 2018 which are indeed where the ADRs are incorporated into South Australian law. Those rules are made under the Road Traffic Act 1961, which in sections 117 and 118 makes it an offence to be the driver or operator of a light...

    Superchargers in Australia

I don't think this is generated from a dataset of supercharger locations. It's very likely just something directly created by digital artist, using a map of cities as a reference.
  46. C

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

Yes, AGL is one of those vertically-integrated gentailers (as is Origin, and Snowy Hydro). I don't think it's altruism, I think that they've found that EV owners tend to be higher electricity consumers even when not charging their EVs, so they can afford to give some cheap overnight charging to...
  47. C

Anybody have direct experience with Amber Electricity?

The missing piece of the puzzle is that those retailers either have large off-market financial derivative contracts like swaps that lets them limit that financial exposure, or they're part of a vertically-integrated gentailer portfolio which similarly means that they're naturally hedged against...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

The nav data update came down separately (like the game updates do). If your car was on WiFi the whole time you probably didn't notice when the map update happened (because it doesn't require confirmation or a reboot, and is quite fast).
