Pretty much. Ark has been pretty open about their robotaxi case: https://ark-invest.com/articles/analyst-research/autonomous-ridehailing-fees/ “In conclusion, ARK expects that a handful of platforms will enjoy natural geographic monopolies and profit handsomely, perhaps more so than we...

Thinking about some of the self-driving conversations that have been taking place, and vaguely remembered that Tesla launched a public policy portal earlier this year (Tesla Engage). “Engage Tesla is a new platform for both Tesla's public policy team and Tesla Owner's Clubs. Its goal is to...

I don’t think so. He didn’t go there with Rob’s question and was careful to point out that people misinterpret the whole alien dreadnaught thing. This is also Tesla we’re talking about here. They wouldn’t build a humanoid robot that will also be friendly for a production line. They are...

Although smaller but still a big innovative company… Square had Jay Z’s “Can’t Knock The Hustle” on loop before their ER. No complaints from any analysts on that one.

James is stellar, but I agree with your points about WS analysts. I mean… The number of analysts who think the lack of S/X deliveries in Q2 signals a demand problem is baffling. 10 minutes of research would reveal the vehicles were/are undergoing a refresh.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Not an old timer but I’ve been trading (Not just buying and holding) since the mid-2010s. I think the challenge w/ Tesla stock right now is that we’re still unwinding a lot of that Gamma created last year, when really fortunate investors bought long dated OTM options. For example, OI on...

Probably super limited, but I did get a recall notice on my Model Y this morning: Transport Canada Recall Number: 2021-321 Tesla Recall Number: SB 21-20-001 Your VIN: XX Dear Tesla Owner, This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Motor Vehicle...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I’d want Tesla to be a complete savage and build the vehicle trade-in quote right into the app. I know there will be FUD in this, but this likely makes Tesla supercharging eligible for US Infrastructure grants as well. Lots of free promo is about to be funded by this bill. (For “reporters”...

Why are you implying that we didn’t believe what Elon said? I even put in my post “I get it but I don’t”. We know what he said. Just like we know that FSD will eventually go to the price he said. Doesn’t mean we can’t disagree/have another opinion.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

But these are the exact reasons why I am a little confused If the goal is to have more people with FSD, then why price the product at a price point that leads to consumers subscribing on and off? Shouldn’t the goal be to find a price point where consumers buy it and don’t cancel? - Option 1...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I get the pricing but I don’t. Let’s assume a 6-year timeline (Using 6 years because that’s how Tesla shows fuel/potential savings to prospects) Scenario #1: Buy FSD in full - $10,000 upfront - Recoup ~$3,500 when selling car - Total cost: ~$6,500 Scenario #2: FSD Subscription - $199/month -...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

My FSD subscription questions: - If someone purchases today, do they lock in at that subscription price until they cancel? Elon has been transparent at the price of FSD rising as they introduce more features - Are FSD subscription members eligible for the Early Access Program? Or is that for...

There is people who paid $8,000+ years ago that don’t have access to the private beta. Why would someone get it just because you signed up for a $199 subscription?… The public beta will be here in a few months and everyone can enjoy it then. The last thing we need is the entire fleet driving...

Sad story. I sold a significant chunk of my position at the time because of the Cybertruck reveal. I thought “what the hell this this?” Now I look at it today and say “This is a no brainer” Everyone wants a Tesla after driving around in a Tesla. The Cybertruck is going to have a whole new...

So a brand new Plaid Model S catches fire right before Q2 delivery numbers. The lawyer makes a big deal out of the whole thing, essentially doing press run to get the word out. At the pinnacle of the press run (Going on CNBC), he cancels at the last minute. Since then - radio silence.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Irrelevant? We’re on a Tesla Investor Forum… why would we not spend our time over analyzing scenarios and thinking through possibilities? As long as we’re not spewing FUD (Which neither of us have IMO), it’s all just good conversation. I disagree with your “more than once” comment. I don’t...

From the configurator. Fremont Model Y interior doesn’t have the dash trim on the door. Only MIC Model Y has a dash that extends onto the door. The MIC Model Y interior image is being used for the Model Y configuration on European sites. MIC M3 is also imported from China as well. Wouldn’t...

Yes, but you’re “seeding” other markets with a different variant than what is supposed to be produced in the local market. Elon has mentioned the Berlin MY will be a fundamentally different vehicle than the Model Y’s of today. If these MIC MY will be delivered in September, and Berlin is...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Surprised the Tesla MY SR being released in China isn’t being seen as a home run. Isn’t it technically cheaper to produce the MY SR there because of the use of LFP packs and CATL being the supplier (I think)? So therefore, they probably see a better margin on these than they did in the U.S...

Tomorrow is Friday though. No way the MMs get this to max pain, but they’re likely to walk down the stock at some point to trap the morning call buyers. Too many front runners for them to do anything too crazy. Plus - it’s always good to have a red day here and there to cool off. Monday’s...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Haha. I like OPs optimism though. The share price rise is the product of S&P front running and algos respecting the technicals (Debatable I know, but I find value in some forms of TA). I believe that FSD as we see it (Tesla Network) isn’t priced into the stock yet. The technology isn’t mature...

    Financing Tesla vehicles in Canada

That’s the going rate right now. 72 months and below is 2.15%. 84 & 96 months are at 2.6%. Doesn’t look like there will be a rate change for September. important to note that car loans are front loaded so a lump sum payment may not gave the impact you want it to have. Based on my situation...

Called Scotia earlier today. Not sure how knowledgeable the rep was, but she shared their auto loans are amortized, meaning interest is front loaded. By my calculation, Kevchan is spot on. I would have paid 81% of total interest on the loan by year 4 with an 84 month term.

I know this is the case for mortgages, but didn’t realize it would be the same for an auto loan. Thanks.

    Financing Tesla vehicles in Canada

Looking to take delivery in November, and will likely pay off my car in the next 4 years. I’d want to go with the 84 month option because I value having the extra cash flow per month vs. being forced to make payments over a 4 year time span. Anyone know how interest works if I were to pay off...

    Financing Tesla vehicles in Canada

Rates seem to update about once a month. New rates will likely be available early next week. I put down my deposit on a Model Y earlier in the year, but don’t plan to pick up until October/November. Wonder how low rates can get by that time.

Can confirm that getting the lower rate DOES NOT result in another credit pull. The only way it does is if: 1) Your loan was approved through one bank (e.g. RBC), but another bank is offering a better rate (e.g. Scotiabank). In this scenario, you’d get a hit on your report since you’d be...
