Repainted bumpers on 120k+ miles Model S...less than $35k

HIGH AF milage for the year. It's a no brainer to avoid this if you have any suspicions whatsoever. Why?... He's been "abrasive" before the purchase when he ideally should be keen to sell and be helpful. Imagine how much of a headache he would be to deal with after you bought it if anything went...

5 years worth of subscription = buying it

Ffs dude. Give up. Did you even read the bold!? What I wrote is pretty precise. To date they HAVE upgraded the hardware of full FSD owners to support the FSD software. HW3 supports the current software. You’re bringing HW4 into it unnecessarily and probably disingenuously. HW4 isn’t...

5 years worth of subscription = buying it

You said i was delusional and Tesla didn’t upgrade anything in 4-5 years. I had mine done in April. Nice try at moving the goalposts though.

5 years worth of subscription = buying it

They upgraded the cameras for those who own FSD on legacy HW2-3. I literally had it done on my car for free. These replies are constantly proving my point about lack of knowledge here, Jesus.

5 years worth of subscription = buying it

Did I say it would be upgraded to an entirely now HW, no. Dear god, people on here don't read posts. I said the cameras were upgraded 5 years after purchase for free. That's pretty good. Expecting HW to be upgraded to an entirely new system when your car could be 5-8 years old is pretty...

5 years worth of subscription = buying it

Read my post Missed the point. You get upgrades on the hardware if you have fully paid FSD. You don’t if it’s sub.

5 years worth of subscription = buying it

My point was not about whether FSD is good or not. I said people fail to appreciate the longer term hardware benefits.
  10. A

5 years worth of subscription = buying it

Not sure if it’s promised but anyone with fully paid FSD could get the upgraded cameras because they need to continue to provide sufficient hardware to keep up with FSD updates or they would brick some FSD abilities in owners who had paid and then theyd be legally in question.

    UK FSD Discussion

Tesla has never claimed FSD is anything more than level 2. You’re getting confused with the literal interpretation of a name of the product. Do you really think Mountain Dew is a bottle of Mountain Dew?

5 years worth of subscription = buying it

Reading these type of threads makes me realise the lack of thoroughness of average Tesla owners research. “You’re not missing anything” is such basic consideration of the purchase short term. People buying an expensive car thinking short term are already financially irresponsible so I find the...

    UK FSD Discussion

lol It does most of the work on a motorway. It makes my daily commute much easier. Barely requires intervention. What you’re describing (zero intervention) will not exist in your lifetime. If it did you'd nitpick it anyway.

No stalk indicator for roundabout argument settled

Coloured button is not a solution lol. Presently the action is achieved without having to visually or physically search for the stalk position as it is fixed. The buttons are mobile over a huge range of motion and tiny. Colouring them just reduces the visual search a minute amount. There's still...

Involved in an Accident with Model 3 - 2023 | Need opinion and tips on handling claim

Other car is wrong for turning into your lane but you are at fault for an appalling reaction to what probably just required a heavy foot on the brakes. The car was visible and had an indicator warning you they were about to potentially make a stupid manoeuvre. I see no evidence in the video of...

    Model X Range Question

100D is EPA 295, NEDC 351 I have late 2017 P100DL with EPA 289. Car says around 2015 at 80% charge so 250 at 100%. Real world driving with a performance model will be more like 200-220 due to temp, wind, A/C, sentry, etc. That's if you don't use ludicrous (+) often of course. ev-database.org...

FSD Transfer One Time Offer - Is Elon just mocking us now?

How are owners surprised at new car depreciation? In 99% of scenarios (excluding energy crises, etc) it's immediate when you roll out of the service centre with a new car. Anyone talking about the FSD transfer with anything less than a 3-5 year old car has more money than sense. I have a 5 year...

    FSD Transfer

So I was misinformed about it being a terrible deal, but seems there is a lack of clarity on whether the new car's FSD is limited to a single owner. Any update on if that's true or just poor wording in the terms and conditions?
  23. A

    FSD Transfer

Wake up. Do you think Tesla are stupid? To get the transfer you have to trade in your old Tesla to Tesla. They give notoriously lowball price for this so you lose money to begin with, they get a cheap Tesla they sell on above value to people who want the assuring of a oem used warranty AND then...

A little direction with a crash!

It’s not as clear cut as saying all investigations have shown it to be driver error. Below describes how a vehicle electronics error could appear as if it was driver error. I know there are a lot of clueless drivers out there hoping to hide their shame BUT I also am cautious in saying that it’s...

A little direction with a crash!

Sounds highly unpleasant event and now this scenario for you to sort afterwards. What do you mean the hold failed? With regards the sensing the curb - do you mean there was no park assist beeps and visuals to advise you of when to start breaking?

A little direction with a crash!

There’s a subtle moment when the cars front enters the parking space that it looks to decelerate slightly (as I’d expect if I was parking there). That either doesn’t continue or there’s a subtle acceleration also. I have had my foot touch the brake and accelerator pedal simultaneously on a...

Model X Accident with FSD any advise?

A 2018 Model X P100DL with FSD can have depreciated by as much as 2/3 of its original value by now. I can confirm this because I recently bought one with original value £150,000 for just under £50,000.

Is Auto Lane Change an FSD feature only?

I have FSD. I use NOA which has the lane change feature. In the U.K. it visually suggests a change and the driver can confirm it by pressing the indicator. There is also a requirement to have a slight turning force on the wheel to activate the manoeuvre. In autopilot leaving the lane...

Is Auto Lane Change an FSD feature only?

If tesla forced hands on wheel at all times they’d wreck their sales. There’s a balance between being a nanny state and being cautious whilst maintaining business viability. My hope is you’re trolling. Either that or you’re horrendously misinformed as to the abilities of Tesla’s self driving...

Is Auto Lane Change an FSD feature only?

Did you read my post? Satisfying/achieving nag dismissal and achieving the actual safety it intends to promote are two different things. It prompts slight turning force at random times to confirm you’re still paying attention. The times you mention are (hopefully less often) safety critical...

Is Auto Lane Change an FSD feature only?

I wish people would stop calling it torquing the wheel. The request to ”apply slight turning force to the wheel” is intended to confirm you have your hand/s resting on the wheel. The fact a quick torque placates it doesn’t mean that is what it’s designed for. If you gently rest a hand on the...

Autopilot Autosteer - what is the true benefit if your hands are semi-always on the wheel?

The point you’re missing, like many others, is that it isn’t a “apply force nag”. It is intended to encourage keeping a hand/hands rested on the wheel. If you keep a hand on the wheel constantly then you don’t get nagged. Why would you do this? Well, there’s a difference between having a hand...

Model 3 accident.. was I at fault? [After arbitration my insurance says yes]

What does this even mean? You’re in the car? Standing? On the phone? Hands free? You need to better explain the situation if you’re looking for any meaningful discussion on this situation.

MCU2 Upgrade, two different part numbers and different prices

Had the work done. Took a week! Now I’m not sure how to tell if they actually replaced the main screen and binnacle display. Parts aren’t individualised on the invoice so that’s no help. Anyone?

Thinking of buying a used Model S

FSD on a 5+ year old car? You know you can’t take it with you when the cars done right? My wife has a model 3. I have a Dec 2017 Model X and I currently have a loaner legacy Model S 75D. The Model S is cool but it feels old compared to the Model 3. Tesla loaners are also not kept particularly...

    My 2014 Model S died again… needs a 3rd HV battery! (No warranty left)😩

Exactly! It’s insane to me that adults who own valuable items like a Tesla need this explained to them. Some owners act like children and lose all sense of reality and common sense when discussing their problems on here.
  39. A

SC not honouring 12 year Body Rust Limited Warranty for spoiler

I’m sure it’s common, just isn’t noticed much as it’s mainly on the spoiler underside. The service manager said it is covered but only once it breaks through and makes a hole (as per the literal wording of the warranty). So basically once it gets worse he said it could be replaced. Seems...

Autopilot Asking for Input Every 11 Seconds

What’s wrong? It’s less safe because your reaction time is reduced when you have to spend time reaching to the wheel.

    My 2014 Model S died again… needs a 3rd HV battery! (No warranty left)😩

Anyone buying a 2014 Tesla of any kind without a third party warranty is basically a gambler. You lost the gamble - sorry for your wallet, but that’s the risk you took.

MCU2 Upgrade, two different part numbers and different prices

Paul. Since you’re U.K. based (me too) just to confirm: Did they replace the MCU, the main screen AND binnacle display (instrument cluster)? How long did it take? Did they give you/offer a loaner vehicle while the work was being done? Thanks

What I sent to Dublin Tesla on May 8 Asking for a replacement / collateral exchange

Sounds like a bad experience, however Tesla may agree with the request for an exchange/buy back. A post with your experience and actual outcome surely would be the way to pass on your “buyer beware” message most fairly and succinctly.

    Infotainment/MCU upgrade £1,700 or £1,400

Tbh it’s actually not noticably slow. I think it was worse 1-2 years ago and they have worked on it since with software tweaks. Maps take 2-3 second sometimes but it doesn’t feel like a sluggish iPad. I don’t really need half the things like Netflix. For the cost I think the sentry and dashcam...

    Infotainment/MCU upgrade £1,700 or £1,400

Yes I’ve got HW3 and MCU1. Just got the car 1 month. Previous owner had it specced to the max when new + FSD. It was originally AP2.5 but got the HW3 upgrade before I bought it. I just got the camera upgrade recently. I was considering holding out to see if MCU2 ever became free because I...

    Infotainment/MCU upgrade £1,700 or £1,400
