    Need Help: Rear Drive Unit Replacement $6k

    Have the same car as you and same issue. 2013 s p85+. Replacement performance ldu was very hard to find and old firmware was nightmare to deal with. Car was at shop for 6+ months and had to go back to Tesla to fix it. (7k) Sorry but Tesla is the only place to go from my experience.

    Tesla supercharger throttling lawsuit how to join

    A few months ago it was still charging at ~78kw when battery is low (range less 30 miles). Today the max was 48kw when the range is low and most chargers are unoccupied. I spent an 45min only got my 2013 model s p85 charged up from range 30m to 140mile. This is getting worse and worse.

    Anyone know who can do Drive unit rebuilds ?

    Within warranty they will replace for sure. Out of warranty, if you had complaint before and had written proof about it then you can argue hard. If you don’t have either then Tesla will quote you 8k to replace it and take your old one away. And you have no idea If it’s brand new or rebuilt one...

    Take it to tesla and complain hard enough for a few time and they'll try to replace the drive unit for you.

    Glove box latch failure

    Same thing here. Got the quote from sc for 432 for replacing the whole glovebox. Found this post and just save myself $432. Awesome! Tks guys
