    Charging interrupted issue

Check your car’s alerts to see what’s going on. It will usually give you a specific error code. A lot of these are usually heat related stoppages with the charger. If you have your UMC in direct sunlight, you might notice the system throttling charge rates. Avoid using extension cords or an...

Average Estimate Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector Install

It really depends on your current breaker panel. If you have 200 amp service, you should have an easy time. Your main breaker should indicate the panel’s service rating. I put in a 60 amp breaker with 4 gauge wire. Fortunately I was able to mount my wall charger pretty much right next to my...

Level 1 charging sufficient for low daily miles?

On a 110 outlet, the model Y will roughly charge at 1% per hour. You can also expect to have more plugged in time on weekends than during the work week. So you can catch back up to your net losses that occur all week long. If they do net metering in your area, you’re going to want to step up...

Gemini wheels- with or without hubcaps?

Until I buy some new wheels, I opted to paint the Gemini wheels matte black. I did about 5-6 coats of the Krylon brand plastic dip. I ordered some midnight blue metallic paint so that I can paint the silver ring on the actual wheel to match the body.

Still waiting on my dash and a few other carbon fiber components. I’m liking the look though.

Thoughts on Additional Home Charger and PSA

I’d sell your existing charger off and buy two Gen 3 Wall Charger units from Tesla. That way the units would connect together and load balance between both automatically. You would have a wider range of options available for charging. Either reduced rates between both, or schedule them apart...

I feel like an idiot...(assumed 240V adapter still included)

Mine was at about the same charge rate when I picked it up in Scottsdale last week. Considering I had a 200 mile drive home to Kingman, I familiarized myself with how the super chargers work in Wickenberg. For those who haven’t used a super charger, they’re set up very well. You back in, plug in...

    August/September VIN Notifications and Deliveries

Figured I’d post a follow up since I see a lot of doom and gloom in this thread. Picked up my model Y in Scottsdale Arizona on Monday 09/27/2020. Blue over white long range with full self driving. Vin number 53xxx. There was a bit of a snafu late Sunday when I got a call from them saying the...

Real Carbon Fiber Mods for Model y

RPM Tesla does take their sweet time delivering. Their carbon fiber dash has been on back order for about a month now. Same with their mirror caps. A large order of the smaller parts came in today. Hopefully picking up the blue / white long range Y on Monday.

Real Carbon Fiber Mods for Model y

Bought a bunch of carbon fiber items from RPM last weekend during their sale. Going to do a white interior with a blend of carbon fiber. Doing the dash, steering wheel accents, dash caps, console lids, bumpers along the console, door switch facades, rear AC molding, door sills, door latches...

    Insurance Costs & Problems

I have an existing policy with Esurance that is around 400 for six months. Full coverage on a 2018 Toyota TRD Pro. Added a Tesla Model Y Long Range and the coverage cost only bumped up about 300 bucks. No at fault accidents. No tickets for 10 years or so. 1000 dollar deductible.

    Trade in experiences?

I found Tesla did not offer a very good trade in value. They offered me 10.5k for a 2017 Ford Escape Titanium edition. I shopped it around for cash value at local dealerships and got 12.5k for it. Once that was processed, I pulled the trigger on a Model Y, Long Range, white interior, FSD.
