    Octopus Energy Saving Sessions

You're spot on you'd earn nothing extra if you do that. People with solar export might just miss out a bit if the new sessions are near summer and times the sun might have been out... but you're right, your export plan is likely to fall foul of that. If I were you, I'd move that export time to...

Unlike IOG/Go which are flexible, your Outgoing should be fixed to a set date (which it will tell you on the tariff screen). What occurs at that date however could well be a change to flexible and a drop in price.

I wonder if part of it is the competition, with now Ovo an EON both ~7p rates, with the later I believe whole house like IOG, but for an extra hour.

    Octopus Energy Saving Sessions

I'm South of Oxford, and agree, although there have been plenty of passing clouds of late, 25-27kWh from my 5.3kW array has been doable. Today looks like we'll be over 30 if things continue as they are. It didn't quite pay for everything (other half WFH etc), but £30 from mid May to Mid june...

    Model 3 Highland Performance

I think the feedback comes from two camps and shows: 1) People who've not had/driven the performance before... and are amazed at the speed, blown away, amazing etc. 2) People who've had a previous performance... can't tell the difference in performance. I think that colours a lot of the views...

    Octopus Powerwall integration

Have either of you looked at the NetZero app for iphone. Somehow, the developer had managed to program the PW tariff screens with the days Agile prices, so there's clearly someway of feeding that to the PW API. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/netzero-for-tesla/id6453293821
  11. phil4

    Octopus Powerwall integration

The PW3 still needs a Gateway at the moment (apparently software in the future may remove that need), so I expect it can be done for PW2 and PW3. On the flipside there's a mass of installed PW2, and almost no PW3 at the moment, plus cost of living crisis, lack of grants etc.. may not be a good...

    Are software/feature suggestions possible?

There's an option to fold in the mirrors in certain locations (I think it's as simple as when you do, it remembers where and repeats that). So no reason why it couldn't do a dip instead. I don't t know however of any way the public can suggest ideas to Tesla in the normal sense. The only...

Yeah, but what are the rules? I don't pay any attention to green days just plug it in, how many are needed, are there streak goals. As they decide the charging when I plug in, I don't really think it's much to do with me to be honest. But then for 10p, it's not worth losing sleep over.

Another 80 points for charing on Greener Days (no idea when they are) for 6 weeks in a row. This is all a bit of a mystery to me, but I'll take the 10p. Might pay for a gas standing charge for a day by the end of the month.

UK: Tesla after-sale experience reviews in UK. What’s your experience?

I've had 3 repairs over the nearly 4 years I've had my M3. The first two were simple ranger visits, done through the app and easy as. The third was a service centre visit, again done through the app. If you're the sort of person that likes bumping your gums, then it'll annoy you no end. If...

"Congrats, you've charged 5 weeks in a row on a Greener Day, so you've earned 80 Octopoints this week. Keep checking the forecast to keep up your green streak. New one on me (80=10p I think), "the forecast" links to an Octopus page: Greener Days showing today green, but the next few days not...

Tesla app to set up service is IDIOTIC - change my mind

My pet peeve with it, is like it's trying to sell you something. When you first start the booking you get a really close date offered, but once you've picked the centre and booked it, it could be a week or more out. They could either ditch the estimated time at the start until they're sure...

    Supercharger team sacked?

I love how we're all experienced CEO's here, having run our respective massive multinationals for years. As init6 says, laws are different over there. And we've zero clue what they workers actually did day to day, why it was they lost their jobs or any idea what the strategy is. We can all...

This is the one thing a lot of people miss. It's not about getting 2 years through a 4 year term, or anything like that. Indeed on my previous car, the "halfway point" ended up being month 47 of 48. Obviously it depends on a lot of factors, but don't assume it'll be near the halfway point of...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

    Supercharger team sacked?

You're taking my point too far. What I'm saying is that a team of 500 to run superchargers is a hell of a lot of people. Likely at that size there's too much bureaucracy and wastage, and that it could be done by far far fewer people.

    Supercharger team sacked?

I get you, 500 people is a hell of a lot. We run and entire company with 10. And despite the heartless way it's done, that's how the US does things with employment. If there's a UK team they can't do that. Anyway, as ever, don't believe it's all over for SUC, but do think it'll "change"...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

I'd second the idea of a battery, having run for 6 months without. Depending on your circumstances it can smooth solar so you use all of it, whether the clouds come and go or you put the kettle on. Or if you've got it big enough to cover your day's use without solar, you can go on IOG, charge...

    Supercharger team sacked?

The Reuters article was pretty vague and could be read a number of ways. Who is buying a LHD Refresh M S/X?

Yeah, most likely reason, or the old "if you've got 100K to spend, then you can afford it" or some such. But unless it changes then it'll be a no from me. I've a figure in mind and if it drops below that, then I'll defo consider it.

I think the new 3P is defo tempting me out of mine (sept 2020 model, so no heat pump and chromed bits)... but the high price I would stomach if it weren't for the 9.6% APR. If I spec a slightly more expensive Y Perf with fancy paint, it's £345 cheaper per month with the same deposit (4100)...

Smart meters no chance. They're a buggy pile of rubbish. They can't even cope with sending usage data reliably, nor know what the price is at a given time. I doubt they can do anything remotely complex like spotting loads. Smart Chargers however are more likely, and far easier. The problem...

DNO electrician installed wrong main fuse

I'd be thinking of longevity. My 100A fuse blew back in Jan, when cars, batteries etc were all busy charging. HA did note a high draw (~24kW). Now the reason I think it went was less to do with what I used then, but more that it had been close to the limit night in night out for a while. So...

Car wise I think we'll just see incremental change/improvement. Where's solar charging gone?

Yep, IO here and 15p for export... so pays more to export solar than save the 7.5p to charge the car. It could all change of course, which was why I was investigating, but make hay while the sun shines (literally), and pay the investment off a little quicker.
