    No Sonic with my update

Mayflash NS dongle, plugged into an Anker USB Hub in my glove box. PS5 controller connects wirelessly to the Mayflash in the glove box. Works fine with the games installed...unfortunately no Sonic though because Tesla doesn't think I can figure out how to get a game controller functioning in...

    No Sonic with my update

I can't do that. It sounds about right to me.

    2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

Clearly this is not done with the customer in mind. Having the newest models be incompatible with the newest features can't be their plan - what we have is a failure of execution. I wonder if Musk wants to amend his tweet to say "Sonic is coming to all Tesla's! Except the new ones."

    No Sonic with my update

This is correct per my communications with Tesla, and is their official line. My suspicion is that they are doing this to avoid having a bunch of service calls claiming that games aren't working, from people who don't know there's such a thing as a USB port that doesn't support data. It...

    2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

It was confirmed to me that the games requiring a controller were removed due to the lack of data in the center USB ports. The text provided to me via the service app was as such: "Hello <name>, we have received the official communication. All vehicles that were built after November 18, 2021...

    2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

Currently you can’t connect a wireless controller directly to the Tesla via Bluetooth. You can add a Bluetooth dongle by Mayflash and then the car “thinks” that a wired controller is connected. I got my PS 5 co troller to work without issue by using the Mayflash NS version.

    2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

I've installed a $20 4-port USB A hub in the glove box, plugged in a $20 Mayflash USB dongle, and it works fine with a PS5 controller on Sky Force and the Atari games. So the solution works, if only Tesla would install the rest of the games on my car. I'll be adding in a USB key with music on...

    2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

Not sure the benefit of that - can't these cars be sold at a markup? Why lemon it when you can just sell it for more than you bought it? While this is an annoying problem that needs fixing, I don't think that the lemon law nor a lawsuit is the solution. I see a 2-step solution here: Tesla...

    Missing Games in Arcade?

Some not great news...received an update from Tesla, and the official line is that they are not installing games that require a game controller on cars built after Nov 18th, due to the removal of data ports from the center console. They're looking into a bluetooth solution. Of course that...

    Missing Games in Arcade?

Had some back and forth with Tesla's software guys today as they tried to push an update with the games 3 times to my car directly...then they realized that the Sonic game has been pulled due to bugs, so the entire batch of games that Sonic is grouped with (including Cuphead) is now not getting...

    2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

Using a usb hub inside the glove box isn’t a very elegant solution. It’s a workaround…but filling the glove box with dongles, adapters and thumb drives is absurd when there’s 4 unused (mostly useless) USB ports elsewhere in the car. Why even bother with those other ports? Is there a large...

    Missing Games in Arcade?

I’m missing those games too. Further, only the USB in the glove box has data on it. Something weird is going on here. Not happy. Edit to add details: 22 MYLR delivered in December.

    2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

I just finished arguing with my service Center in the app…they say that the USB ports being power only is accurate and you have to use the glovebox USB port for data. If wireless controllers worked properly to connect via Bluetooth, this would be passably acceptable…but having to stuff a music...

    Model Y - 5 seater vs 7 seater

I'd say that a baby seat and 2 petite adults will be fine in the 2nd row of the Y - it's a pretty spacious car. I once bought a 3-row Subaru Tribeca for the flexibility of carrying lots of people. That happened just a couple of times in the entire time we had the car - it was uncomfortable...

    Jeda Hub for Model Y

My cable seems like it’s about 50% longer than the one in the photos...just enough longer to be a problem. But by kinking it a bit, I was able to get it work. If the kink in the cable causes me issues, I’m guessing that I could replace the cable either through Jeda or through Amazon.

    Jeda Hub for Model Y

I received my hub finally, and now that my Samsung T7 is set up the way I want, I’m ready to stick it in the hidden compartment. But...the cable is just too long! I can’t figure out how to connect the drive and not have the cable loop and push the door open. Am I the only one who has this issue?

New headlights vs free 1yr supercharger

Given that I find the headlights on my 2020 M3 to be excellent, I'd take a year of supercharging hands-down over redesigned headlights. In the 2021, the valuable upgrades are the heat pump, range increase and power trunk, and you get those now.

    Camera dead on arrival?

Same thing happened to me in September - the camera was faulty and missing one of the metal bars that attach to the car wiring. There would have been no reset that would have resolved that - had to just wait for the repair. It didn't need a SC visit though, the ranger was able to do the repair...

Trade In - Check Engine Light

My view...as long as you disclose the check engine light to them, you've done your diligence. If they choose to buy it without renegotiating the price with the new information, it's their choice.

    Premium Connectivity in Canada

My free month ended yesterday, and today I'm down to standard connectivity. Those maps are quite the downgrade...but what can you do, it's what I paid for. I'll give it a bit of time before resubscribing.

    Premium Connectivity in Canada

Can you get satellite maps with live traffic virtualization via WiFi? I don't think so. Further, these items that are listed under premium but not under partial premium are clearly intended to show a difference in the feature sets of the packages. I don't suspect it was intentionally...

    ALL Cameras Stopped Working

Mine was one of them - passenger side rear-facing camera under the chrome trim had to be replaced. Took 2 weeks to get the camera. Don't think it was camera related, but my car also has once decided to emergency brake with no obstruction in the way (not on AP, which wasn't functional on...

    Canadian Stores and Service Centers

I dropped by the Laval delivery center to resolve the confusion between my delivery appointment scheduled at the Montreal location, and the text message I had received telling me to pick up my car in Laval. When my sales rep didn't answer after a few days, I drove the 15 minutes to the new...
