2017 Model S scroll wheels are slow to respond / intermittent

No luck here. It's mostly really bad, but I get intermittent good times.

2017 Model S scroll wheels are slow to respond / intermittent

Thank you both for the replies. I haven't tried the 4-finger reboot in a long time, so I'll give that a go next time i get in the car.

2017 Model S scroll wheels are slow to respond / intermittent

When we first got the car in September of 2020 with its original MCU, I was frequently annoyed with how many clicks I'd have to spin the scroll wheels before a single click was recognized. Slow scroll, fast scroll, didn't matter. It seemed like only 1 out of every 3-5 clicks would actually get...

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

If you're in the fsd beta, that's expected. I'm not in the fsd beta and experienced this just for a could hours on Monday afternoon/evening. It came back magically. Dunno what was up with that.

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

Dunno what was going on there for an hour, but it's back. And I'm at 99 this evening after a bogus FCW. I suppose at this point, 99 v 100 makes no difference. Just get to wait a "few days."

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

The safety score has just disappeared from my Android Tesla app. App version 4.1.1-667 Anyone else seeing this?

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

Seems like no, or else I'd have it by now me thinks. I think they took the score at some point between Saturday 9:30am CDT and Sunday 8:30pm CDT. I had a 100 starting at 4pm Friday and ending 9:30am Saturday, then I was back to 100 again by 8:30pm Sunday. And yet... here I am without an email...

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

Oh that's a real bummer for me. If they took the final score at some random point in time, there's a strong possibility I won't get it until they roll it out to the 99's. Thanks for the data point at least.

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

Yep. I drove 200 miles Friday and arrived in KC at 4pm CDT with 100. I then was back down to 99 by 4pn the following day. I finished my last drive yesterday at 8:30pm CDT with 100. 500+ miles were logged just since Friday afternoon (plus ~20 miles per day for the two weeks preceding).

Blog Tesla’s FSD Beta 10.2 Coming This Friday

Very excited, anxious, and hopeful that I'll wake up to fsd tomorrow morning. Also won't be surprised if I don't. I went for a 90 mile drive tonight just to get back to 100 after a trip yesterday brought me back to 99.

No update for me either, and I've got a 100. And in an effort to verify @dduffey's claim, I find this: Yes indeed. Delayed again.

Car does not unlock on approach

WOW. Just.... WOW. I have to say, I'm still annoyed at Tesla that they even built the car with such a slow CPU to begin with. But WOW. Everything works EXACTLY like it should. I came back to the car with a bag of groceries in my hand, approached from the rear, touched the button on the trunk...

Car does not unlock on approach

I did give my wife's key fob a try and it behaved the same way. Yesterday I took the car in to have MCU2 + FM tuner installed, and I asked them to look into the key fob issue while it was in the shop. They checked the batteries and all of the antennas around the car and everything seemed...

Trade Silver for Gray 19" Slipstream?

I have a set of pristine 19" silver slipstream wheels and I'd very much like the grey ones instead. I'm open to other wheels as well, so long as they are the same dimensions (not interested in upgrading to larger diameter or width). Anyone interested in a trade? PM with any offers to buy mine...

Car does not unlock on approach

Of course... I feel silly for not trying that. The other one is my wife's and she never drives it. I've no idea why I haven't just swapped fobs with her to see if that helps. Will let you know later today.

Car does not unlock on approach

A Tesla tech told me that there is a five minute timer on the unlock (or handle presentation? not sure on the details...). The car won't re-present the handles until 5 minutes after they closed. Perhaps that's what you're running into @evfeh?

Car does not unlock on approach

Wireless charger port? Is that only on newer models? I didn't think my '17 had a wireless charger. I do have an NVMe SSD enclosure shoved into the compartment with the USB cables. I did have the car for about a week before putting the SSD in there though, and have always had this problem, even...

    Nope. Opposite front pockets.

Car does not unlock on approach

I read lots of threads where people report the handles not presenting when the keyfob approaches, but I can't recall anyone talking about the car refusing to unlock when the fob approaches. When it's in my garage, where it's been configured to remain unlocked, the handles always present when I...

Minimum battery charge for full power acceleration?

That is certainly what I was expecting to hear.

    Upgraded anti-sway bar?

    Oh that's cool. I didn't know about epc.tesla.com. Thanks :) But I am a bit confused... when I go to that site, then "Model S" -> "31 - Suspension" -> "3103 - Rear Suspension (Including Hubs)" -> "Rear Stabilizer Bar And Links" I see a 20mm and 21mm bar, parts 1043961-00-B and 1043962-00-B. I...

Minimum battery charge for full power acceleration?

Oh interesting, and here I'd assumed that with a non-performance model, the power was capped MUCH lower than the battery's capabilities.

Minimum battery charge for full power acceleration?

I have a 2017 Model S 90D, but perhaps this post can be useful for others with different configurations as well. I've heard that if the battery is not fully charged, you may not get full acceleration. I have not, however, seen any numbers put to it. Can someone enlighten me by telling me what...

    Upgraded anti-sway bar?

Salvage car would be fine by me though, that's for sure. Where do you find these things? Just ebay? Any specific shops?
  26. D

    Upgraded anti-sway bar?

I will certainly give it a go at road trips, in increasing distance as time goes on. I'll be driving from St. Louis to Lake of the Ozarks on Sunday and back on Wednesday. We'll see how that goes :)
  27. D

    Upgraded anti-sway bar?

Yep, i'm sure I will. It's actually the one and only reason I didn't buy a Tesla two years ago, when I got the GTI: I wanted something fun to toss around the corners and at autocross. This Tesla finally happened because it is technically my wife's car, not mine, so I still have the GTI for fun...

    Upgraded anti-sway bar?

Definitely understandable. And I think what I might do is resist the urge to slap one on until after I've taken it to its first autocross next year (I'm going to finish out this season in the GTI). I've no intention of autocrossing the S a lot (the GTI will be my main race car), but I have to...

    Upgraded anti-sway bar?

Fair question, but no they are not the same. The rigidity of the battery probably reduces or even completely negates the need for a strut brace - the bar you sometimes see going from the top of one strut tower to the top of the other. But an anti-sway bar serves a completely different function...

    Upgraded anti-sway bar?

I just took delivery of my 2017 MS 90D today and absolutely love it. After installing a beefy anti-sway bar on my '16 GTI for autocross and noticing significant improvement in fun-factor without any change in ride quality, I'm interested in doing the same to the Tesla. My Google fu is failing...

Greetings from St. Louis, MO, USA

Thanks! My wife and I sure thought so! This is technically her car, but it will be me that drives it 95% of the time since we both work from home and I plan to use this as our main grocery getter. It's replacing her 2008 Honda Civic with only 55k miles, which I've been trying to get her to sell...

Greetings from St. Louis, MO, USA

I pick up my 2017 Model S 90D (CPO) Monday morning and am VERY excited. Blue on tan. Only 15k miles. Full self driving enabled. If anyone has specific things you'd recommend I look at before buying, let me know (and if there's already a thread, just link me to that). I'm sure I'll post more...
