LG E5D Battery charge speed increase

Thanks for all the great info and charge speed points. I have the early build 2018 long range RWD 3 with a Panasonic pack but have been thinking of trading to a Y.

LG E5D Battery charge speed increase

I release this is an older thread, but I am from Canada and we are now exclusively receiving the MIC LG battery Y's and 3's. Question for our European friends: Has there been any further improvement in the charge curve for the LG batteries? Thanks.

What has happened with the rollout of V11?

From Teslafi data looks like about 20% of us

Whole Mars Catalog reporting that 11.3.6 dropped to employees. Fingers crossed this one goes 100% wide.

What has happened with the rollout of V11?

I would love some communication on what the hold up is. I actually put in a service request via the app asking if anything was blocking updates. It instantly ran a Diagnostics and said I’m on the latest version for my car and geographic location. But others with a VIN very close to mine same...

What has happened with the rollout of V11?

This could be it. I wonder if the 20% on 10.69.x are the “control” group for NHTSA and 11.3.x cars performance is being evaluated against it at the same time of season, same geographic areas. For example - my M3 is on 10.69.25.2 but our other 3 is on 11.3.4. We have nearly the same routes to...

    FSD v11.3 update…never came

Seems 11.3.4/5 went out to 80% of TeslaFi users and has now stalled for the last 5 days. I'm in the 20% still waiting on 10.69.25.2

What has happened with the rollout of V11?

Maybe this weekend there'll be another push to the last 20%. We have one model 3 still on 10.69.25.2 and one on 11.3.4. Overall the 11.3.4 drives the car better, but with some regressions - especially merging onto the highway where it waits until the last second and doesn't signal in many cases...

What has happened with the rollout of V11?

Same here - I’m in the 20% still on 10.69.25.2. I first entered the beta program during the safety score days when it expanding to Canada and opened to 100,000 testers. Mine is a 2018 RWD Long range 3. Our newer model 3 got the update April 1. It’s looking increasingly like we’ll need to wait...

    Canada - FSD rollout

I don't know if this matters - but I ensured I had at least 100 mi (162 km) in a sliding window back every 7 days - even though the score is over 30 days.

    Canada - FSD rollout

Notateslaapp shows FSD Beta Distribution currently as 78% 10.10.2, 10.11 as 9%, and 10.11.1 as 12%. This implies 12% x 60,000 = 7,200 beta testers have 10.11.1 . Since Teslafi shows this to be 298 cars - seems Teslafi is installed on 4.14% of cars. Assuming a similar install rate in Canada...

    Canada - FSD rollout

Who thinks things will resume with 10.11.1 in a day or two, versus having to wait a couple more weeks for 10.11.2?

    Canada - FSD rollout

I've often skipped over many of the '3rd decimal' point revisions when updated over the years. I think the last point in the revision # is to address different hardware revisions. Pushes don't necessarily need to be incremental. I wouldn't worry.

    Canada - FSD rollout

In my case I drove around for an hour and 80 km and then stopped for lunch. Nothing showed up. The second drive after lunch showed and then every drive since then. And since that 2nd drive - the score shows up almost immediately after getting out of the car.

    Canada - FSD rollout

I'm estimating there are about 50,000 FSD capable Tesla's in Canada. Uptake of FSD in N.America is ~20%. So say 10,000 cars. I saw a histogram of FSD scores - 7.6% have 100 score, another 24..9% have 99, another 12.7% have 98. 7.6% x 10,000 cars is only 760 cars in all of Canada. I'm...

Charge Speed Reduced, unplug and try again

In the end the firmware updates didn't resolve my 32 amp charging limit and Tesla Engineering diagnosed mine as needing a new PCS and HV PCS Fuse. Back from service and charging at 48 amps again! They did say the vast majority of these cases were resolved via firmware however.

    Charge Rate Reduced - Model 3 SR+

2020.36.15, and later .16 did not resolve the AC charge limit of 32 amps for me. Tesla Engineering diagnosed my particular case as requiring a new PCS. They did say >99% were of these were firmware related though. Car is back from service with new PCS and PCS Fuse - now charging at 48 amps again!

Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

Car back from service. New PCS (ASY, PCS, 1PH, MDL3) and replaced HV Battery Power Conversion System Fuse. Charging perfectly again at 48 Amps!

Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

Neither 2020.36.15 or 2020.36.16 fixed my 32 amp charge limit on my RWD LR M3. Tesla Engineering has now diagnosed my situation as h/w and scheduled me for a PCS replacement. So in my case it was determined to be a h/w problem that was being masked for a while by the known firmware bug. The...

Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

Perhaps it is the PCS. Mobile Service came out today (because I had a low tone horn that needed replacement). The tech. re-pushed 2020.26.15 again ahead of his arrival - but still wouldn't charge over 32 amps. Tried to send 2020.40.3 but wasn't available yet for my car. Since so many cars...

Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

Firmware 2020.36.15 did not resolve my charging problem. Still limited to 32 amps on a 2018 LR RWD model 3 and getting the Charge Rate Reduced notification consistently every day both at home and at 4 other public chargers I have tried. I’m glad for all those that the firmware update has...

Charge Speed Reduced, unplug and try again

Is anyone with firmware 2020.36.15 had their charging problems fixed? I got 36.15 two days ago and still cannot charge over 32 amps, but I've seen a couple reports saying it fixed the issues for some people.

Charging Issue Level 2 at Home

My 2018 model 3 RWD LR was updated to 2020.36.15 yesterday. Still won’t charge over 32 amps. I tried to schedule service earlier with Mobile and Service Center and both said wait for a firmware fix. Unfortunately this firmware did not fix my issue. I may try driving over to another town...

    Charge Rate Reduced - Model 3 SR+

Same. Had my appointment cancelled stating this is a firmware bug. I even stopped by my local Service Center - who had a technician check the logs - same conclusion. No ETA on when the firmware will be available, but this is the reply I got from mobile service. "We have spoken to engineering...

Charge Speed Reduced, unplug and try again

Thanks - That is great info. I dropped by my local SC today as well and the tech. pulled logs and investigated. I also provided the case # for the chat I had with Tesla Home Charging. The conclusion was the same - that the issue is firmware and we must wait for a fix. I wasn't able to get as...

Charge Speed Reduced, unplug and try again

Update: Tesla mobile service reviewed the Case# and is confident this is still a firmware bug that will be fixed with a new push. The inability to charge at 120 V on the mobile connector was just a scheduled timing issue - now charging fine on Level 1 120V with 2 different chargers. So must...

Charge Speed Reduced, unplug and try again

Update: I ended up calling Tesla Home Charging support (just follow the options from the main Tesla phone #). It took 90 min on hold but I got connected to a very helpful knowledgeable home charging specialist. He was able to remote to the car, see the detailed logs, and even call up a month...

Charge Speed Reduced, unplug and try again

Just happened to me also. LR RWD 2018. I get the "Charge Rate reduced" for anything over 32 amps. Local Service centre replied with: "We have spoken to engineering and they have determined the issue that is occurring with charging is related to a known firmware bug. They are diligently...
