    TeslaMate [megathread]

I got my Pi up and running in about half an hour with this excellent guide! Although I'm still not sure that I'm not losing data. Running TeslaFi alongside for now. https://photos.app.goo.gl/pbpuXLq99omLbTPv5

    2019/20 Orders and Deliveries [closed]

Update: delivery date re-confirmed yesterday at 1432, just as GA was chugging along the south coast to Southampton (She's docked there now, due to leave tomorrow for Bremerhaven). Unsure whether to call Tesla for details of how I get the lease car on my correct account (i.e., preferably NOT the...

    2020 Shipping Movements

GRAND AURORA is now sitting at dock in Southampton and offloading its shipment, including mine (I believe). I'd just like to say a last, huge thank you to @Mr Miserable for his excellent daily updates and informative commentary - it's been an exciting ride! Also to the others who added...

    2019/20 Orders and Deliveries [closed]

I received a text today at 0941 stating that my Model 3 is nearly here, coincident with the Amsterdam offload/pickup of GRAND AURORA (ETA in Southampton 2020-12-02). My delivery date is the 9th (and has been since the first notification on the 11th November). See 2020 Shipping Movements on 2020...

Watch this thread: 2020 Shipping Movements The latest is: she's waiting for some Chinese SR+ to load. Then will take them to Amsterdam (ETA Monday), before coming to Soton to arrive on Tuesday WITH MY M3LR (THE most important one! :p )

    2020 Shipping Movements

They've turned the NORWEGIAN ENCORE around, so she's looking out to sea. So we can see them arriving in SOTON, but not unloading. Unsure if that's good or bad news? Norwegian Encore Webcams - Norwegian Encore Bridge Webcam / Camera - Norwegian Cruise Line Edit: Additional: NORWEGIAN ENCORE's...

    2020 Shipping Movements

My Hypotheses/complete guesses as to why the GRAND AURORA is following a rhumb line. Reading up on thumb line, the advantages might be: "the inconvenience of having to continuously change bearings while travelling a great circle route makes rhumb line navigation appealing in certain...

Not the Shipping News - OT fallout from Shipping Movements

I guess they might do some checks on the cars. Or it just takes a lot of time to move them all around to the right place. Paperwork and planning.

    2019/20 Orders and Deliveries [closed]

@Abiz55, I'll put my neck on the line and state that the time between docking/unloading and handover-to-customer typically is more than a week. Your car is likely already in Southampton somewhere. Edit: I could be wrong!

Not the Shipping News - OT fallout from Shipping Movements

On that thought: a SpaceX/Tesla crossover to deliver cars via Starship direct delivery hop! That would be a very interesting "shipping movements" thread. If Starship can deliver 100 tonnes to LEO, then it should be able to deliver around 50 cars across the Atlantic in one hop. And there might be...

    2020 Shipping Movements

If the normal time from Zeebrugge to Southampton is 2 days, there's still time for PH to carry Teslas, since her ETA in Soton is 29th at 1400, which means it has until tomorrow at 1400 to load and depart. For newbies (like me) Planned Movements - Southampton VTS - ABP Southampton

    2020 Shipping Movements

I think the problem to solve was the delay at Zeebrugge, but obviously if it gets there, that's solved! I think I'm not grasping the numbers involved. I just thought, there must be at least 4000 cars on one of those things, and that would be at least 800 road transporters, if not more! I'll...

    2020 Shipping Movements

So based on this (and your recent report on the delay/extra space available at Zeebrugge), what about in the other direction - through the Chunnel from EU to UK? (the vice versa bit.)

    2020 Shipping Movements

Here's a brave/naive proposal: Grand Aurora docks in Southampton, unloads all the cars, then EU ones are transported by road through the tunnel to Zeebeugge. Or vice versa. Discuss my bold and innocent plan below! :D

I think I'm coming to that conclusion too. Looks like they take about 2 weeks after docking to unload and transport the cars to their final destination. Difficult to see through the fog of a leasing company...

+1 for the text last night, delivery on the 9th December. I'm through a leasing company. Contacted them this morning, then Tesla just now. Tesla told me that I won't see anything on my tesla.com account (even though the email address is correct) until I sign for the car. Hope that helps. p.s...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Thanks for the reply - sorry for the long gap, I've been hiding until I had more news. South Wales is a long trip. Stockport is my nearest Service Centre, so even Liverpool is nearer (1 hour, compared to about 5!). I see that wrapping can be difficult to insure, too (some people even getting...

    Hello from Conwy UK

Hi all, My EV journey is just beginning! I'm Steve, based in Conwy in sunny North Wales, UK. From what I can tell, the nearest service centre is Stockport in Manchester (2 hour drive ish) and Superchargers are rare as hen's teeth over this way, so it's going to be a bit of a fun experiment...
