[UK] App offline? API seems fine

I have a service appointment today so checked my app. It wouldn’t open. Turned my phone off and back on again, it asked for my password but wouldn’t recognise it. Checked on my phone and it said the app was last modified today and the password was not one I recognised. Changed the password and...

Lane departure avoidance & Forward Collision Warning

Interestingly, the Model 3 Owners Manual on the internet says your chosen setting on Forward Collision Warning is retained until you manually change it. No mention of having to change it on every trip.

The Forward Collision Warning is ridiculous now. It’s like a daily reminder not to buy another Tesla.

    Squeaks and fix

I will check this on mine as it started squeaking and creaking last week and it’s getting steadily worse.

Lane departure avoidance & Forward Collision Warning

I have seen a couple of posts on this but not for some time, so apologies if I am repeating. I have a 2020 M3 and only recently the Forward Collision warning has started to go off much more frequently, sometimes several times in a short trip. Previously it may have sounded maybe once a month...

    Camera(s) blocked or blinded

It’s a pain. I posted about it on here last month. I had no idea about this and my car was new. The messages became so frequent I made a service appointment but Tesla phoned and cancelled saying it wasn’t a fault. They told me I had to give them specifics of a journey of not less than 40 mins so...

That’s interesting. I suppose the question is “why?”

Don't hesitate to report issues to Tesla

I was fine with Tesla until I reported an issue (another story) dealt with, or rather not dealt with by Leeds. Personally I hope I won’t have to deal with them again. Life is just too short. However, as I am smack in the middle of Manchester and Leeds I will try to find a way of dealing with...

Door Pillar Cameras Blinded. Customer Service Problem.

You are not correct about 14 days, but this is a non-argument as no-one is going to court as I have already made clear. Honestly, I get it. You are a big Tesla fan and in your eyes they can do no wrong. I was too until yesterday. Poor customer service though for me is a massive issue for me and...

Who said anything about court??? That said, the law is pretty clear. It is unlawful to sell something that is not as advertised.

It clears then comes back then clears then comes back. Sometimes doesn’t clear. I am not sure what definition that puts it under. I guess you could argue life itself is temporary.

Door Pillar Cameras Blinded. Customer Service Problem.

I absolutely agree. It seems to me that too many are prepared to just accept that because the cars are so advanced they may not work that well. In other words they shouldn’t have to work because they are so great.

Door Pillar Cameras Blinded. Customer Service Problem.

Gone are the days you read the manual AFTER you bought the product. Now it seems, they make up part of the contract of sale? Also see post 43.

Door Pillar Cameras Blinded. Customer Service Problem.

Except it’s not a “temporary issue” How often does it have to fail before it stops being a temporary issue to this thing I have paid for just isn’t working? What if you believe you have reached the point where it just isn’t working and Tesla aren’t interested?

Door Pillar Cameras Blinded. Customer Service Problem.

In conclusion then, in my original post I asked two questions. Firstly, was the issue with the door pillar cameras being blinded or blocked a common problem? The general consensus seems to be that it is very common, particularly at this time of year in the U.K. Secondly, what, if anything should...

Again, I understand but that’s not how they sell it. If it doesn’t work all the time they should say so.

Door Pillar Cameras Blinded. Customer Service Problem.

I think the central point is that Tesla have sold me a vehicle with systems incorporated into that vehicle which they claimed work. They show videos of them working. They charge for these systems. But now I have bought the vehicle this system doesn’t work as they claimed it did and now they say...

Door Pillar Cameras Blinded. Customer Service Problem.

The fault is the cameras don’t work. The little snowflake light that comes on to warn you of ice works if it comes on at icy temps. No-one is asking Tesla to do the impossible. Look at it like this- Should a vehicle and the components in that vehicle work as advertised? Yes of course. If they...

Door Pillar Cameras Blinded. Customer Service Problem.

Maybe there are two ways of looking at this. 1. You could be right. To be honest I feel a bit silly just assuming that products which big publicly traded companies sell would just work or they would fix it. Most companies do this because 1. Customer service reputation is huge 2. It’s a legal...

Door Pillar Cameras Blinded. Customer Service Problem.

agreed, but you know that when you buy them. What I thought I knew when I bought my car was the cameras would work, all the time, not at different times of the year or only after a long drive. Now, I agree, if I had known that the pillar cameras didn’t work and I still bought the car, then that...

Door Pillar Cameras Blinded. Customer Service Problem.

Now that is interesting and not something I had considered or was mentioned in my conversation with Tesla. As the car is telling me the camera is blinded or blocked when it wasn’t, I assumed it was a camera fault. I did not know the camera had to have something clear to see. I will check this...

But not every car and I have never paid £56k for a computer. And if you do get a faulty computer they will generally fix it for you. Probably because that is actually the law.

Thanks for your reply. Their refusal to attend the service appointment was purely due to them not being able to claim under warranty if it worked on longer journeys. They said it was likely it wouldn’t work on journeys of under 40 mins. That tells me it’s a known issue as you say. But we can’t...

Door Pillar Cameras Blinded. Customer Service Problem.

Thanks for your reply. In regard to customer service expectations I was going off my first experience and I guess the general impression most seem to have about Tesla. Following the telephone conversation I have very much come down to earth with a bump. I disagree about the response from Tesla...

Door Pillar Cameras Blinded. Customer Service Problem.

I am continually getting warning messages on my M3 that my door pillar cameras are blocked or blinded. It happens several times on every journey, despite them being clean and no condensation or fog appearing to be present. The warnings come and go several times on each trip. As a last resort I...

    Autopilot cameras unavailable?

I had this problem from new. I thought it was just taking time for the cameras to calibrate but eventually I made a service appointment. The guy came to my house and he explained that they had a bad batch of cameras and he was doing a lot of these just now. It took about 15 mins to fix and...

    Splash Guards

Hi, First post here so be gentle Apologies if this has been discussed before. I took delivery of my Model 3 in late September and in the boot (trunk) there is a packet containing what appears to be 2 splash guards. No instructions, no screws. I have looked around the internet but can’t seem to...
