This is my sad story, too. I leased my M3 in 2021 and took delivery in Charlotte; now, with lease-end approaching and a MY in the hopper, Tesla says they can only lease if the car is registered to a NC address. Only financing or purchase available in South Carolina.

When I took delivery of my M3, Matthews was the closest service center and the only practical option, so assigned by Tesla. But now that Savannah’s open, you should be able to choose to have your vehicle delivered to either Matthews or Savannah, whichever is closest for you.

I thought, too, it would just be a matter of switching the vehicle attached to the plate I had on my leased BMW. But the Matthews SA claimed that most people did a whole new plate/registration for their new leased Tesla and went on about using an existing plate and insurance coverage, yada yada...

It gets even more confusing if you *lease* your Tesla in South Carolina, rather than financing or purchase. I took delivery of my M3 in Matthews nearly six weeks ago and paid the county property tax, but have yet to receive any permanent tag or title. I'm on my second dealer tag from Matthews...

Like you I had the 5/24 to 6/13 range on the site for almost two months, but just two days ago it changed to a solid May 12th, so keep an eye out. I'm in the US and taking delivery at the Charlotte SC, so I don't know if there's any connection with Canadian deliveries.....

The SA in Charlotte tells me you won't get a firm date until the system contacts you post-VIN and asks you to specify a delivery day.

If it's any consolation, I ordered the last day of March (M3 LR Blue, white interior, 18"), got an "8-12 weeks" estimate, which changed to "May 24 - June 14", where it's been stuck now for more than a week. No VIN issued yet. So, yes, the delivery estimates seem to be more guesses than...

I'm in the same boat...or cargo ship. Pulled the trigger on my M3LR on 3/31, but no VIN yet and estimate of 8-12 weeks for delivery. I actually ordered the car back in January but put it on hold while I run out my current daily driver lease. Now wish I hadn't waited....

Thanks for the advice. Decided to do the deed as of today, 3/31, so let's see what happens. And, yes, I did join the Charleston club, even without having the car yet! Seems like a very active group.

Well, it's the last day of the first quarter, so I pulled the trigger as of today, 3/31. Still says 8 - 13 weeks, but hope they're being conservative.

Some advice, please: I have delivery for my M3LR on hold through April while my current auto lease expires (in June, but will probably turn the car in early, like mid-May). I'm anxious to click that "I'm Ready" button on my Tesla order so the car can go into production...but the Tesla website...

Thanks for the update. I have an M3 scheduled for delivery in Matthews in late spring, but this would be much closer to my home just south of Charleston. Hope it's not too complicated to switch delivery sites.....

Hope you're right! It will save me a long drive to Charlotte to pick up my new Model 3 this spring. (I live near Charleston SC)
