What happens when you drive from UK to Europe? Headlight? Self drive overtaking?

I did quite a bit of nighttime driving in Germany on the motorways, however with the car being so low and the motorways all have this safety barrier in the middle (on the left), it really wasn't an issue. I might have blinded someone on a dark country road when the automatic lights didn't switch...

What happens when you drive from UK to Europe? Headlight? Self drive overtaking?

I am back from an epic road trip to Austria via France, Belgium, Germany and return via Germany and France. All my concerns about the lights, different routes, charging points, breakdown cover were for nought because it was so easy driving in Europe, using the TM3 car charger map to find the...

    Road Trip Checks

Are you saying if one adds a stop next to the planned stop, the car will not turn on pre-condition? How else can one prevent pre-conditioning from happening? But isn't pre-conditioning good and recommended before a long stop? What happens to the charging process if it does not take place?

What happens when you drive from UK to Europe? Headlight? Self drive overtaking?

Hi @WannabeOwner, That is my fear of taking an alternative route, however, what I was planning to do was sign up for a 14-day trial of ABRP and use that app to tell me all the real-time information (stalls in use, vacant, operational or not). I've created a couple of the same "alternative"...

What happens when you drive from UK to Europe? Headlight? Self drive overtaking?

I have spent the day looking at routes from Calais France to Anger in Austria. Initially, I stuck with what 'A better route planner' (ABRP) was suggesting, but after tweaking a few of the settings (making sure only Tesla CCS & CCS were selected), I have now been playing around with different...

What happens when you drive from UK to Europe? Headlight? Self drive overtaking?

Thank you very much for your answers @WannabeOwner. I will look into extending the AA cover that I get through my bank for European cover. Very useful answers indeed and wow wee to that 'A better route planner' (great name, so much useful information in one location). I have a 12V tyre...

What happens when you drive from UK to Europe? Headlight? Self drive overtaking?

Hello all, I'm taking a road trip next week with the family to Austria via France, Belgium and Germany from the UK on the channel tunnel train. Does the connectivity pack (internet) automatically work in Europe or do I have to use my mobile phone instead? Should we stick to the Toll roads or...

    V11 - what’s your verdict?

My 2 cents. There is so much real estate on the Model 3 screen, if it was me I would have added more one tap icons to the screen not take away icons. That to me has been the single, biggest, dumbest thing ever! I thought Tesla was about efficiency. The person on the UI team who did this doesn't...

Passenger side window crack - any experiences?

Hi All, Posting here as it is a stone/glass-related question. With regards to stones through the windscreen, would auto-glass sort out the rain sensor, front camera and heated front window when they replace the windscreen? Wondering as we had a stone fly into the window today and I am in the...

    Insurance New Vehicle [2021 Megathread]

Not entirely sure what Peugeot has to do with Tesla insurance? Can you please explain?

    Insurance New Vehicle [2021 Megathread]

Last year we paid £622 at Direct Line for our Model 3 LR, which was quite a leap from the previous year's insurance for a Nissan Qashqui 1.5l. I did a number of quotes this time around to see if I could better £622 (Churchill = £800), LV = £750), and Vitality Health (they were able to beat the...

    Timer charging restricted to 16A?

At least it's working. Mine on the other hand is working perfectly. I bumped up the amp about 3 nights ago to 32A from 31A and it's been charging at fast ever since then. For me problem is solved.

    Timer charging restricted to 16A?

So what you are saying is I need to bump it up to 32A while it is charging and then it will stay at 32A. Okay, I don't recall ever seeing it at 32A, but I will stay awake tonight and make the change.

    Timer charging restricted to 16A?

I decided to stay up and see what my TM3LR was doing during the cheap charging period. I am definitely getting the right charge from my Andersen A2 wall charger and for once in the Tesla app I'm seeing the 31/32A 31mi/HR charge. I am happy everything is working as per normal. One less thing...

    Timer charging restricted to 16A?

Oh wow, @M3LR21 that is quite the observation and well done for taking the time to understand what is happening? Yes definitely looking forward to your findings or conclusion. I just hope Tesla have a firmware update that resolves the randomness of this problem.

    Timer charging restricted to 16A?

Hi M3LR21, There has definitely been no software update since I wrote about the same issue you were experiencing. All I have done differently is this past Saturday via the app, I turned the 5A dial to 32A and started charging the car on Saturday morning. Of course, it was a lot more expensive...

    Timer charging restricted to 16A?

Going to have to wait until the 22nd of November now, because I used the opportunity to point out a few other problems I am experiencing with wind noise and rattles at the back somewhere, so Tesla Gatwick swapped the appointments and have offered a loan car for the day. I hope it is a...

    Timer charging restricted to 16A?

Interesting M3LR21, the same thing is now happening to me and I am on the same version as you 21.40. Prior to the 2nd November 2021, I was getting 28.7kWh which was taking 3:47hrs. Fast forward to the 6th November 2021 and I am now getting 14.6kWh for the same 3:47hr window. I called my...

Deep scratch/paint job repair advice needed after human forgot how to reverse.

The story gets better. They did a fantastic job, it looks brand new again. :) Also when they called this morning they said the price was £350 and it was ready to collect. And they cleaned it inside and out! I am very impressed with Finesse accident Repair Centre in Dorking. Also thank you for...

Deep scratch/paint job repair advice needed after human forgot how to reverse.

A further update - we called Tesla at the Gatwick branch, and they gave us two companies that do body/paintwork for Tesla cars. One was Apollo (in Horsham) and the other was Finesse (in Dorking). Apollo quote £1000 based on the photo we sent them. Their labour alone was close to £800. Seemed a...

Ouch indeed. The meme free video is worse. Adding the gifs made it slightly better, but maybe after a few more beers, I'll feel a lot better. Told the wife she is cooking a steak and fries and then sleeping in the garage this weekend 🤣

    Anderson A2 Charger

The front door was the colour we chose a year ago when we had a new door fitted. When we saw the colour on the Andersen website, we knew it was meant to be. The choice they offer is wonderful, just goes to show they are thinking of people's homes. 😊

Deep scratch/paint job repair advice needed after human forgot how to reverse.

Damn mini wall indeed! It is so odd though why it doesn't jump out at me! 🤔 My wife comes in afterwards and says "I told you to not park so close to the step". Like it is my fault for parking a foot and a half away. Cool, thanks, I will check them out.

    Anderson A2 Charger

Hello all, It has been two months with the Andersen A2 and I can say without hesitation it was the right decision to buy this wall charger. There are a couple of Tesla owners in the neighbourhood and we have the nicest looking wall charger. It certainly feels like we made the best choice. It...

Deep scratch/paint job repair advice needed after human forgot how to reverse.

Today my soon to be ex-wife forgot how to reverse our 4-month-old Tesla Model 3 out the driveway. I have a 36-second video showing what happened and the photo of the damage below. My question for the forum is how much can I expect to pay to have this damage repaired and if anyone has any...

    Anderson A2 Charger

RE: smart meter - The board upgrade or black box upgrade is what costs £157, not switching to a smart meter. Who are we to argue, that is what EON said. Everything else I understand is free (fuse upgrade etc). Re: smart meter - Can we continue this discussion here, or do I need to create a new...

    Anderson A2 Charger

Okay, thank you for that @ Yes, Andresen is trying to fleece me for sure. Yes UK Power is visiting Monday to install 80A master fuse. It was them who said they can only do 80A because the board says max of 80A. There are quite a few references to 80A on the board on the wall in my garage, so...

    Anderson A2 Charger

Yes, I agree with you. I am no electrician, but the electrician I hired to add extra sockets into my garage said we have enough amps if upgraded to 80 amps from our existing 60 amps to run most things including EV without any trouble. Andersen though, seems to have other ideas, and it is this...

    Anderson A2 Charger

Sorry, what is a DNO? We contacted our energy supplier (EON-Next) and they noted that the meter should always have higher capacity than the fuse and our meter goes up to 80 amps and we currently have a 60 amp fuse. Therefore we can only upgrade the fuse to a max. of 80 amps and not 100 amps...

    Anderson A2 Charger

Yes, they said they would only go up to 80 amp as part of a free upgrade. Andersen said the following: Our engineer has said that due to the mini CU having a 40a shower supplied from it, with a 60a or 80a incoming supply, the adaptive fuse is required - £99. This will safely balance your EV...

    Anderson A2 Charger

Hi all, first post here, I am in the process of getting an Andersen A2 wall charger. I've put the order in, done the survey and I got Andersen telling me I need some an adaptive fuse to prevent overloading of the circuit. I have an 80a fuse/circuit board and a separate CU for a 40a Electric...
