It has to do with the required high voltage to run the traction. You can't trivially change 400V DC to 12V DC. And you don't want to use 400V for the seat motors.

I just updated my XLR (ordered 1/6/2021), and paid the extra. The advisor offered $2000 reduction, but I don't see it in the configuration. The delivery is still stated as March.

I place an order for an X long range 1/6. Just got the "We can talk tomorrow" message from my advisor. Wonder what they're going to do about the $10k+ increase. And the range went down.

Our ICE route has been Austin - Brownwood - Sweetwater - Lubbock - Amarillo - Trinidad. Clayton sure makes it easier. Lubbock would be nice. But I'll take anything along that route. Clayton is a lot better than Kansas. Boise city has it's merits, doesn't look like that route opens up soon

No I35 is near gospel for anyone living in Austin. If nothing else, bad for your karma.

I just purchased an X long range; and will be driving to Colorado in March. Hope the charger is active by then. We regularly make the Austin - Colorado trip, this will be the first time in an electric.
