    Hard braking for no reason

Just my 2 cents, cruise looks at the distance in front of the car but not side. I use CC a lot, no surprises yet. Here is another observation re: side cameras and wonder if others experienced this: I am waiting on a red light in the middle lane, no cars are moving, but the camera image is...

    Hard braking for no reason

Thanks all for your reply, my foot will be on the pedal next time. Although I can disable the emergency braking at the menu, confirmed that it will re enable upon restart. My wife tells me that the pickup towing a trailer on her side was very close to the lane marker; my theory is the sensor...

    Hard braking for no reason

I saw under Autopilot menu, something as I recall, emergency auto braking. I am disabling it, but don't know if it saves it permanently or during the driving session only.

AutoPilot tried to kill me. Again.

No, it was engaged long before. I say 2 car but I don't quite remember since my wife/I were freaked out. What I do remember was I had a pickup towing a carnival type structure to my right, but it never swirl to my lane.

    Hard braking for no reason

I just wrote to service to see what they say, doubt there will be any actions. I noticed that under Autopilot menu, there is a disable collision braking. I disabled it, does it stay disabled permanently or just during the trip session?

AutoPilot tried to kill me. Again.

I just had this sudden braking for no reason using autopilot, no FSD, 70mph down the fwy, 2 car spacing in front, car on the right, everyone in their lane and moving. 1st time this happened to me, did not know how to disengage.

    Hard braking for no reason

I had a very scary situation yesterday that almost caused an accident. I am uncertain whether there are problems with cameras or sensors or computer. Autopilot was on. I was going 70 mph on the fwy, luckyly no cars behind, a car towing a structure on my right side, ~ 2 cars space in front...

Anyone use this Romex 6/3 cable during install?

210.20 Overcurrent Protection. Branch-circuit conductors and equipment shall be protected by overcurrent protective devices that have a rating or setting that complies with 210.20(A) through (D). (A) Continuous and Noncontinuous Loads. Where a branch circuit supplies continuous loads or any...

Anyone use this Romex 6/3 cable during install?

Thought I provide what I think are the applicable NEC code requirements: 210.3 Rating. Branch circuits recognized by this article shall be rated in accordance with the maximum permitted ampere rating or setting of the overcurrent device. The rating for other than individual branch circuits...

Anyone use this Romex 6/3 cable during install?

I was trying to not go in details and not making it an electrical discussion but since we are talking installation, it is important to be per code. NMB cannot be in a conduit if it goes through a wet area (ex: coming from a wall and under a slab in a pipe). Also, if it is exposed, it needs to be...

You are right in that it can be in conduit. The NEC says

Impact to the battery by changing rates several times while charging

From my point of view, it is all dependent on one's life style. If you are not going to be home during the solar peak times, then the battery may be a way to go but depends on the ROI (battery cost currently is high but expected to come down and more efficient). One can say but who cares, you...

Looking to buy new home charger from those who have extra

I am checking the openEVSE vs Tesla Home charger. It can be integrated with the PiMon computer to monitor your solar. What I read is that the PiMon interfaces with the openEVSE so the car charging amp is automatically adjusted based on your solar production. Also, any charger qualifies for a...

OMG, you made my day, I did not know the credit could be applied to the charger also ! THANKS!

Any problems with non-tesla home wall charger?

I have solar and I am pursuing the openEVSE charger and then using the Tesla-included J1772 adapter. This charger allows the control via wifi of the charging current on your Tesla (the Tesla app does not allow changing amps, I wish Tesla would start spending time updating apps vs the car...

Impact to the battery by changing rates several times while charging

Leonar, thanks for the response !. BTW, EVSE is a wall charger, OpenEVSE - Electric Vehicle Charging Solutions , a lot less expensive than Tesla's PWC and seems ideal for those with solar.

Anyone use this Romex 6/3 cable during install?

I assume that your going to buy the Power Wall Charger? Remember, the normal mobile charger will only go up to 32 Amps/240V (learned that after installing a 50Amp breaker/wiring). As others stated above, you need #4 NMB (rated max 70Amp). Also, NMB can not be exposed and it cannot be in a...

Impact to the battery by changing rates several times while charging

I am looking at using the EVSE charger vs Tesla's since it is cheaper and Tesla is not updating its app to allow changing the rate from the phone/wifi to take advantage of solar to charge the car. One advantage of EVSE also is it can be integrated with PiMon which monitors your solar production...

Blind spot, close calls - do I need camera adjusted?

I was reading that also, including the danger of using autopilot on a merging lane, learned that the hard way when my car did not know that a truck was almost next to my bumper and suddenly cut fast in front. What will help (which my Honda Pilot has but only on the right turn) is when I put the...

    Blind spot, close calls

Are those ultrasonic sensors operational at any speed or just low? I know that when I am pulling in my garage I see like "waved" lines on my screen with distances. When in the freeway, I do see once in a while the waved lines but not constantly. Wondering what is the maximum range for these...

    AUTOPILOT AND NEAR MISSES

I never use Auto Pilot in wet conditions. My rationale is the car does not know wet or dry, it only knows what you have set which is the speed/distance. Also when wet, applying breaks slowly is the key even if ABS equipped vs the car applying hard braking to maintain a distance or avoid a...

Blind spot, close calls - do I need camera adjusted?

I just received my 2021 MY, has about 220 miles now. I get it that the primary safety mechanism is to always use your mirrors, and I did that otherwise my Tesla would have been in a body shop already. I was expecting that with so many cameras and radars that this car blind spot would be much...
