    12v Switched?

No I'm sorry I don't know where it runs to. The only oddities with the wire in the 3 is it will turn on my radar detector when I play games which doesn't make sense really. The one I tapped (and checked) was a slightly smaller red wire, but I highly recommend testing whichever you find. I'll...

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

Update 05/06/21 New Subwoofer burnt a coil in under 3 hours of use. I'm going to assume because of underpowering from the NVX amp. Amazon is awesome and will allow me the ability to return it. Back to the NVX sub for now. I'm back to the drawing room. PM me if you're looking to buy the NVX...

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

Well 6" depth is about 0.5" too deep. So I did the inverted mount, no trim ring as it was too snug. Bass is amazing, a lot more like what I was looking for with the seat down. Seat up, Meh it's better but I've got more work to do.

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

For testing purposes I took my old Fiberglass enclosure from my previous car which has a 12" IDQ (Image Dynamics), it produced almost 1/4 more volume and a lot more deep bass, not surprising as it's a 12 and a $200 sub... I think I need to go back to the XLCA2 and turn it down some, even...

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

I'm going to try swapping the sub with a Skar SDR 10 ($90 gamble), it has the same overall cutout diameter and is roughly 1" longer in depth. I wanted to go with a beefier model, but the diameter has to be 10.35" which the SDR model is versus their higher end models. I'll report back after I...

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

Mine kinda did, (2020) I had to shift it around some at the bottom and kinda slam it in there. After getting it to line up I had a hell of a time getting the carpet and trim to line up, but eventually got it. I think the plastic piece below the box is what's hanging it up on mine. It's the...

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

So after the NVX $700 learning experience I'm starting to think about what will work... I can find a used rear deck on eBay for $160 then fiberglass a box on the bottom. I believe I could slam a 15" in the center and make everything look pretty decent. I'm still leaning towards using a car...

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

My grill cover had a dent in it, probably from shipping. I believe the surround was hitting this, but also believe it could just be the case in the overall amount of excursion I see of the woofer itself. I think there are 3 hiccups in this setup. (1) the internal volume of the enclosure seems...

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

I did not install the bass knob. I'll have to check, but my bass adjustment (on amp) might be almost all the way down.

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

OMG could it be this dumb?! The speaker grill cover is too small for the excursion. Plus mine had a dent in the bottom corner (thanks FedEx). So same setup only 1 RCA to the amp. XLCA tuned to where the maximize light barely ever flickers. See photos of in car audio eq and video at the end...

They must have both back seats folded down, cause my kit does not perform like this.

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

Yes as the stock sub puts out just about as much as this setup. I'm almost leaning towards maybe I got a bad sub. It moves a ton of air and definitely puts out more lows, but seriously isn't worth what I paid IMO. I wired the NVX out of phase as others recommended. With only one RCA...

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

In my fine tuning of this system, I actually unhooked one of the RCA's and had a lot more control/tuning. With both hooked up I constantly would distort the sub with barely any gain or bass boost. I've played with the xlca and amp for more time then I care to admit, but really it was by chance...

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

I installed mine today, I did the "power off" with the trunk and multiple doors open... The App let me know I left the doors open after a bit, but I did not remove the ground wire as some have stated. I left it plugged in, but it was already fully charged. Like everyone the mounting crush nut...

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

I wonder if adding a "Car Audio battery isolator" would work? I don't see anyone trying this, basically instead of the lead going to a second battery it would go to the amplifier(s)... When the remote lead is powered it would connect the amp to the penthouse and should stop the errors... It...

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

Right on man, my kit is still processing not yet shipped. I am considering doing a false floor or suicide mount on the rear deck... I like the idea of out of sight out of mind, but I know I will be wanting to adjust and fine tune more than once or twice... Hope your install goes well.

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

Excited to receive my kit. Wondering how everyone who owns this setup tuned there amp and xlca units. (Anyone have pictures or levels used) In my previous car audio setups I would find myself tinkering with the adjustments, has anyone found an easy way to access these units to do so without...

    12v Switched?

###Spelling Corrections since I can't edit for some reason. I did NOT use a relay, I am using the Valentine 1 hard wiring kit which is fused. I do not see a need for this, and no one gave a valid reason to use a relay that I found. If something goes wack, perform the reset that was detailed...

    12v Switched?

For my Valentine 1 install I did the following: Use an old credit card to remove the triangle trim, having the glove box made this simple. Remove the trim piece to the right and the push/pin for the kick panel cover. Using your hands pop the trim (start by the middle of the seat and work your...
