As a past owner of two X5s, I can tell you that there is a huge difference from one X5 to the next. Standard X5 suspension rides like a Lincoln Continental. Top tier X5 adaptive suspension drives like a Porsche - well maybe not that good but almost perfect as you can get.

Are you happy to be getting rid of the LR? Wife has the full size Discovery and we're currently waiting for a buyback offer from LR. Then the plan is to get her into a MY.

Suspension is SO easy once you've done it a couple of times. If you can rotate your tires and change your oil (on a conventional motor vehicle) and you have the proper tools, its a peace of cake. Usually 4-5 bolts per corner. Just take your time the first time, make sure you use jack stands...

MY 7 seats, then get some coilovers and the accel boost and you'll be a happy camper. But then of course you'll be 5-6k over the price of the M3P depending on if you can do your own suspension labor.
