Tyre slip over wet white lines

Absolutely agree. Heat cycling is much more important than even some 'enthusiasts' realise but if done right it doesn't have to take 100 miles. It's the same a bedding in brake pads, which is another subject which seems to be full of misinformation. I still maintain that the biggest felt...

Tyre slip over wet white lines

There's plenty of information out there in the public domain about this.

Tyre slip over wet white lines

Release agents haven't been used for quite a while by tyre manufacturers. There will be a difference in how a tyre works and behaves from the moment it's driven away until the end of it's useful life of course, but it's nothing to do with mold release agents (which aren't even used any more) and...

    Tesla Model "π" (Smartphone)

Starlink will get better and better as time goes on. I think it's entirely possible a hand held device could use it in the future. Whether that's worth doing and is affordable is another matter. Low latency satellite phones at an affordable price? Put me on the list.

    Stress cracks in rear light

I can't see how slamming your boot lid could make that happen. Unless you are the Incredible Hulk. 😳

Tyre slip over wet white lines

This really isn't true these days. It used to be the case but not any more. Modern tyres are good to go immediately. What some people feel is a slight instability initially because they've just gone from tyres with 2mm of tread to ones with 6+mm of tread and feel the tread blocks moving...

    AP lane position

Whenever I've used AP on an A road I've felt it's getting too close to the kerb, but maybe that's just me worrying about the alloys getting destroyed! But I agree it's still not really suitable for UK roads. Not even for our motorways If I'm honest.

Flaking paint on 2021 M3 LR

I'm sure I read somewhere recently that Musk himself admitted the paint shop in Fremont was inconsistent and that the German paint shop would be the best in the world. No consolation I realise but it does seem to show they are capable of admitting their mistakes at times.

    Tyres - How’s it going?

P Zeros are only fitted to the refresh Model 3P, so unlikely.

Worth checking jack points on collection - transit damage?

I have the pucks myself, but the problem can be that putting them on then makes it difficult to get the jack under an M3P, because it's quite low to start with so anything other than a very low jack can be a problem. You then have to revert to driving the car up on a block to get it higher. If...

Be careful ordering from Unplugged Performance

I've only registered here today, but I've been reading the forum for a while now and Unplugged seems to have a few faithful customers like yourself but also several who have had really bad experiences with them. So maybe Unplugged only support customers who spend $$$$$$$$ with them and don't...

Cost of 2 new rear tyres ?

I'd go along with this. I don't think the foam makes much difference at all and if it does it's outside the car not inside.

Where is regen setting on Model 3

I totally agree! Seems to be the Tesla way!

Be careful ordering from Unplugged Performance

There's no point following up with me, it's just something I read on another forum but after doing some Googling it seems you only have one UK dealer, so surely you should know them? From what you're now saying that guy is going to have to wait another 2 months to get an order he placed over a...

Be careful ordering from Unplugged Performance

I've heard of someone who's ordered a set of coilovers from UP's UK dealer and even the dealer can't get any reply from them! He paid for them 5 weeks ago and hasn't even got a delivery date yet. That's really bad service. I'm going to tell him to join here so he can look into which vendors are...

UK accessories for RHD Model 3 [megathread]

The most annoying thing about the built in dashcam is the 1 second gap between the recordings. Why can't they fix that?

    Tyres - How’s it going?

I've heard of M3Ps with bald tyres after just 8000 miles, so I think 13k with only RWD sounds good.

MASTER THREAD: Comprehensive Road-Course Modification Guide — Optimizing the 3 for the track

I know a couple of people here running Carbotechs and they say they're not noisy as long as you use hold mode. This is XP10 compound I believe.

Where is regen setting on Model 3

The change in position for the Hold symbol is understandable. I found it difficult to see when the moved it the first time. The change in regen setting I find odd but the fact it's only on later cars does suggest it could be linked with a hardware change?
