After cancelling my order, ended up getting a low mileage 2018 P100D MX. I figure it's 70% of the car for 60% of the price. Will revisit in a couple of years when they, hopefully, get the new battery tech into the Model X.

I think it might work out for me in the end. What I really wanted was the refreshed Model X Plaid with the new batteries that the S Plaid+ is getting for the extended range. Maybe by the time the Xs become available again that will be an option. I think I'm going to get a Model Y in the meantime.

Ha! Either they suddenly got three months of new orders or they still have no idea about anything. My guess is the latter. I think my new plan is to pick up a used X, a used S or a new Y then revisit when they actually start shipping cars. I wonder if they will actually go a full year...

It's notable that he didn't actually give a specific date for Ss shipping. That means there is no date, otherwise he would of given one. By just saying "shortly," it gives him enough wiggle room so that as long as at least one S ships before next quarter's earnings call, he met his commitment...

I just cancelled my order. I don't like playing guessing games and given all the issues they seem to be having, I definitely don't want one of the first cars off of the line. Will put in a new order once things seem to have settled down, assuming that they do.

FWIW... I have a Model X Plaid on order. When I first ordered it, June was the estimated delivery date. Then the date disappeared. Now it says June again.
