Trunk doesn’t soft close but soft opens

Wait, am I missing something? I have a September 2022 Model Y (UK, made in China) and its trunk has never soft closed or soft opened, it always slams shut loudly before latching down and unlatches with a loud bang before opening. I didn't know that was something it was supposed to do? (I've just...

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

Has anyone noticed that the steering feels difference since version 2023.6.8? (I guess it might be hard to tell if you've been stuck with the notchy steering for the last couple of months though!) My Model Y is from September 2022, so I avoided installing 2023.2.10 and 2023.2.12 since hearing...

Tesla loaner only covered third party F&T

That's strange, where/how did you try to get the quote? And are you in the UK? I got mine from Car Hire Excess Insurance | Swinton (Swinton seem to be the UK "partner" or something like that of insurance4carhire), and during the quote process there it actually says that they cover courtesy...

Tesla loaner only covered third party F&T

Mine's sorted now :) I didn't sign the agreement over the weekend, got no reply to my message on the app, so went to drop off my car this morning feeling a bit worried not knowing what was going to happen... and the showroom was deserted at first, but eventually a member of staff came out (who...

Tesla loaner only covered third party F&T

Oh that's interesting. Mine seems to be like a completely uneditable image within the page, with this Accept button at the bottom of the webpage: Maybe I'd get another stage where it becomes editable after clicking Accept? But it says "By accepting, I agree to this agreement" which sounds...

Tesla loaner only covered third party F&T

Thanks, that is very helpful. When you did yours, was it an online/electronic signature? They've sent me the agreement via "Adobe Acrobat Sign", which doesn't seem to have any option to edit/add anything to it at all, all it has is a separate Accept button which seems to be what would count as a...

Tesla loaner only covered third party F&T

I'm having this issue right now - something must have changed with the agreement, as that's point 5 rather than 4 in mine (and it also says "deductible with a maximum of 2,500 EUR or the equivalent in your local currency" rather than stating it in GBP for some reason), but the rest of the...

Uncomfortable Front Seat(s) / Thigh Bolster Mod

Well that sounds... bad. Do you know when exactly they changed to Gen 2, and is there an obvious visual difference between them?

Uncomfortable Front Seat(s) / Thigh Bolster Mod

I don't know about the others here, but I definitely haven't had any issues in that area of my body before, ever. It's only an issue with these seats, and it doesn't seem all that surprising to me that something pressing hard on a small area of the body for a couple of hours would end up feeling...

Uncomfortable Front Seat(s) / Thigh Bolster Mod

Well I've now joined the club of people with this issue :( (September 2022 UK Model Y - test drives in (early 2022) Model Ys seemed fine, and this one seemed ok at first, but not after driving it for a few hours over a couple of days in a row - my bum/top of thighs are feeling quite sore now...

Tesla Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) API Documentation

Well that's what I wasn't sure about, but by the sounds of it, yeah. I've got a test app running on my watch that just lists all the Bluetooth LE devices it sees, and I was surprised how many devices it picks up - loads advertising without a name (like 2-3 of those in most places including...

Tesla Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) API Documentation

Ah yep if it shows up in a Bluetooth scan, that answers the question :D thanks

Vendor Watt Time & Watt Key - Wear OS Watch Apps To Control Your Tesla

Hi, I've ended up on this thread because I've recently got myself an Android Wear OS watch which I've been experimenting with building apps and Bluetooth LE stuff on, and I've had some ideas for stuff to do with a Tesla (but not actually having a Tesla myself makes that a bit difficult for me to...

Tesla Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) API Documentation

Oooo this is very interesting! I've just recently got myself an Android Wear OS smartwatch and have been experimenting with building an app to communicate with Bluetooth LE devices from it. I don't actually have a Tesla but I've had a few ideas and have been wondering what might be possible to...

UK 2021 Model 3 Q2 collection and delivery experiences

It's finally just been dropped off. We were told all sorts of conflicting things by the delivery people over the last few hours - the time they said it would be here kept getting later and later, they didn't really seem to know where it/the driver were at all, and when we finally managed to get...

UK 2021 Model 3 Q2 collection and delivery experiences

Well we're in the middle of a pretty bad delivery experience right now. Family members decided to buy a Model 3 immediately after I took them to test drive one about a month ago. During the order process (at the showroom) it said delivery wasn't possible to their address (which is within the...

Question about UK Model 3 order/pickup/delivery

Ah that's good to know (the Porsche was a verrrry low mileage considering its age lol)

Question about UK Model 3 order/pickup/delivery

Just thought I'd mention in case it helps anyone in future - the trade-in price for family member's other car (a 2011 Porsche 911 GTS) from Tesla was a couple of thousand less than webuyanycar, but motorway.co.uk was quite a few thousand higher. They also tried another company/website called...

Question about UK Model 3 order/pickup/delivery

I agree it does all seem rather confusing. I don't know why people seem to be offered such different pickup options. Is that a £900 delivery charge on top of the listed price for the car, or do you mean the £935 "destination and documentation fee" that's included in the list price?

Question about UK Model 3 order/pickup/delivery

Thanks. Family member has had an email from the dealership saying they will take full responsibility for any issues, so they are now happy to go with that (i.e. delivery to their home, arranged by the dealer in some way). I just hope it goes as well as yours :)

Question about UK Model 3 order/pickup/delivery

That's very good to know. Was yours definitely a "third party" delivery though, i.e. arranged by a dealership while the actual option selected in the order on the Tesla site was pick up from somewhere rather than delivery? (I suppose I don't know for sure that there's actually a difference in...

Question about UK Model 3 order/pickup/delivery

Thanks for the replies everyone. Yeah - when we got to the point where it said delivery wasn't available, the sales assistant said he should be able to arrange it being picked up from Southampton and delivered to us etc *because* we were paying cash, so that's what made me start to suspect that...

Question about UK Model 3 order/pickup/delivery

Thanks - I tried to look for anything relevant on here before deciding to make an account and post myself (in fact the way I found this site was that threads from it kept coming up in various Google searches I was trying), but I couldn't find anything describing this particular situation really...

Question about UK Model 3 order/pickup/delivery

Hi, I have a family member who's been thinking about changing to a fully electric car, so I recommended they check out Tesla (as I would certainly have one myself if I could afford it). We've just been along to the Crawley showroom today, had a test drive drive in a Model 3, and they loved it...
