Nice. I was told some time ago a bunch of cars have been waiting for a firmware/software update to start matching VINs. did he say he expects the issue to be resolved in 48-72hrs or that after a software/firmware is done they have to wait 48-72hrs before delivering?

I work in consumer electronics so this isn’t the same degree of complexity but we run into chip changes all the time. A chip can be replaced by another on in the same series (ex ti9788a to ti9788b) and they can have the exact same specs but the old firmware for ti9788a may do some wonky things...

Who did you speak with? When I spoke to my SA Brandon I was told the vehicles are already in the lot just waiting for this whole firmware/VIN assignment issue to be resolved
