I noticed this started happening this week.

This sounds like what I am experiencing with my Model 3. I don't recall hearing this last summer when we first got the car. You don't notice it inside the car but you can hear it from outside the car. You hear the normal "Whoosh" sound of the AC but underneath it is a like a whining/buzzing...

This just happened on our M3LR and we have a service request scheduled. Unbelievable...this looks like a crappy design. I have never seen anything like this happen in a car -at least not one at this price point.

You could try putting in a service request about it and see if they will push the update

This week my wife put in a service request again to fix the problem. Her intent was really to see if they would just push the 2022.16.X update. Sure enough, within an hour or two of her request, the update becomes available for the Model 3. So far it's been 2 days of no issues.

This is the way.

That's how it's been for me also if I re-seat the USB and then try to view clips.

This is what I am doing if -I remember. It's unpredictable. Even today the car showed the red x over the camera but there still sentry events and dash cam recorded my wife's drive home from work.

No. Don't get a new drive, don't waste your time formatting, and don't reboot. I have not had any of these methods work for me reliably or seen a post saying the same. The software is losing "connection" to the USB drive. In PC terms, it would be like a USB device going to sleep and not waking...

When my wife told me on Thurs/Fri that the error message was back again I didn't bother doing anything -didn't reboot, didn't remove/reseat the drive. This morning it was working again and recorded her drive in the morning, along with some sentry events.

This looks like a software problem. I didn't get this issue until 2 days ago after the 2022.12.3.1 update.

I am experiencing the same thing. I thought it was the SD card+reader so I put back in the original Tesla (Samsung) USB stick and formatted it. Today my wife tells me she sees the same thing.

Tesla is more than happy working to tech a computer to drive like a pre-teen than having solid implementations of a good idea like built-in dashcam (or handling USB music 😉 )

I am surprised by how many places i've worked that "do software development" that don't use any automated testing.

My wife said she got notifications about the pillar camera the other a couple days ago but the cameras were clean. Not sure if it was from glare or what but don't recall seeing those alerts before that. No FSD on our car.

It's not clear what you're asking. Sentry Mode can be turned on or off from the app. Once Sentry Mode is turned on you can then use "View Live Camera" to view the cameras. However, the cell signal at the car's location needs to be strong enough.

Same here. I played two different songs and the album art changed. In the Album view, songs seem to be sorted by the Artist tag and not the Album Artist tag. In the Folder view songs definitely go by file name. I wish the album view played songs by the Track tag -that would make more sense.

I'm with you on this one. The starting point for the swipe had to be just right otherwise it didn't trigger. For something like that it's better to have it accessible from the menu.

From my POV, the cards in the visualizations area, was not discoverable whatsoever -unless you're already in the know ...or you read the manual and who does that? :-) The interface looks like disjointed and busy.

This crap looks like it was designed by the same people who went hogwild when and fly-out menus became a thing for web pages. Everyone has different things they want to use with one click so making giving more options from the quick launcher would have been the better choice.

That's complete BS if their system can't do that. A plate number is just a string and there other attributes that could be used such as the make, model, and possible colour.

At the end of the day, as nice as it is, it's still just a bloody car.

That's great news. For a brand new car couldn't they have caught such a imminent failure prior to delivery? Or due to volume and numbers, they don't?
