I don’t think the triggering issue has anything to do with storage device since dashcam works perfectly for most. The only time I had a real trigger was a really bad rainstorm. It got big waves of rain and lightning while the car was parked. So weird.

Install was 10mins for the fronts because I did it with my iPhone flash light. It’s very easy and no issues to report nor any I could think of encountering. The rear requires unscrewing one bolt and re installing it. It’s a 10’ job. Really happy with the $40 on these.

Ordered both the Motrobe and Basenor. The Motrobe are “slimmer” which is what I wanted. Overall awesome quality, nice fit and under $40 for all 4. Highly recommended! Basenor were bigger, offering more protection maybe but didn’t love how big they were.

After 18.3 I got 1 successful event. I tested it at home in my garage. Perfect. I was so pumped. That was it though, still broken.

Same. I have admittedly not tried triggering it from inside the car like the comment above. I don’t really have a use case for that. I do think everyone should report it though, maybe get some more attention to it. My remote diagnostics did confirm they’re aware and Tesla is working on it.

Sounds right. They said there’s so much data the car records so they wanted time stamps. Long story short, now we wait for an update to fix it.

Yea was corresponding a lot with that guy in the thread on Reddit noted. That guy was was pretty nice to give up his new car to let them see. They were doing remote analysis and gave them a bunch of time stamps. Their feedback was the car was never going into an “aware” state which kind of makes...

Good for documentation - let me know if there is somehow a fix that mobile service may be privy to. My understanding is it's been escalated to engineering.

That worked for me too. However after that initial test, it went back to not working

No real fix. Software bug that they’re aware of and working on a fix they say.

No solution yet. It’s a known issue Tesla engineering is supposed to be working on a fix.

Me too. But I have bad news… that’s probably your last. it doesn’t fix it unfortunately.

I’m testing again now and I’m back to square 1…. Going to try again. But man that first time was perfect unlike any previous attempt.

Yes, same. I posted on Reddit. Good news though - I think 2021.4.18.3 actually may have fixed it?!?! Cautiously optimistic - but it worked perfectly at home. Will test more later.

Yup - i've tried even a full restore, don't bother. Appears to be a just general issue, but I too am still entertaining my service centers requests. Good luck!

Nope. Tesla seems to now say it’s an issue and will be fixed with an update. Appears to be no real fix. The hard resets and letting it sleep with everything off doesn’t seem to hold for most.

Nice!!! How long did you let it sleep for? If that matters… Did not work for me. Well, sort of. Turned off Cabin overheat. Turned off Sentry Walked away from vehicle, let it lock. Turned off bluetooth. Let the car sleep for a few hours. Woke from phone/app. Turned on Sentry from app...

Same here, but FWIW, my mobile service guy sounded optimistic in saying he thinks there’s many (maybe Just incremental) updates in the queue.

That's interesting. Mine did not change at all after the software update. And now service just re-pushed the same update to me. Oddly, I think I agree about what's triggering it. Mine did go off like crazy Monday night in really bad weather due to I think down pouring rain, thunder and lightning.

Yea had a mobile service to fix tiny things. They are working on remote diagnostics for the Sentry issue. It definitely is not working and not unique to just my car. They haven't yet alleged that it is working. Sure just seems like a weird line of code on the new/Vision only cars that I suspect...

Yup. So I had tested at home. Removed excluding home. Left my phone inside, turned off Bluetooth, push on the car, hit the door handle. Just asked for a key card but no sentry event.

I’ve searched and only found a 2020 thread. Sentry doesn’t trigger events, period. Can walk up to the car and push on it… nothing. Dashcam works perfectly. 2021 MYP running 2021.4.18.1 Ideas??
