FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

This may be a dumb question, but here goes. My M3 (HW3) is currently on 2024.2.7, so obviously I'm not on a branch that can get FSD v12 right now. Tesla is trying to push 2024.8.4 to me. If I manage to stay on 2024.2.7, is there a chance I'll get v12 sooner than if I take the 2024.8.4 update...

Tesla releases big, new software update with Disney+, Car Wash Mode, remain connected to wifi, and more - 2021.24.x

Digging around a bit on TeslaFi, I can't help but wonder if the 2021.24.x simply isn't for vision only models. I took delivery of my vision only M3LR on 6/6 (no FSD). I don't remember the original version but it updated in early August to 2021.4.21.3, where it sits now. Not in any huge hurry...

What do you think of the uberturbine wheels on the M3P?

A much less expensive alternative to consider is Rimetrix's Orbitals - replacement for the Aerowheel covers. They have a bit of an uberturbine look. I've got some on order (which ship much sooner than the 5 weeks the site claims, btw). Of course, they also probably damage pretty easily. But...

Discussion: Tesla Vision system for Model 3/Y

I like your theory. I'm running 2021.4.18.2 in my radarless 2021 M3LR. It's my first Tesla also, but the phantom braking is unmistakable (and pretty unnerving).

Discussion: Tesla Vision system for Model 3/Y

This is a great presentation by Tesla's Andrej Karpathy from Sunday. He spends a good bit of time talking about their vision-only system (and Tesla's decision to adopt it). Gets into the nuts and bolts a bit. Definitely worth the 30 minutes if you have the time. My apologies if this has...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Agree on it being a crap shoot. Pre-VIN, my EDD was June 14-30. Got a VIN on May 29 (paid and completed all possible steps at the time), and EDD changed to June 1 - June 7. On May 31, got the text to select a delivery date, and my options started on Jun 8.

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Got my VIN this morning. Ordered 5/10, M3LR White with white interior, 18" wheels, no FSD. EDD said 6/18-6/30 last night (pre-VIN). Now says 6/1-6/7.

No mention of Radar on Tesla Website

Seems like there definitely could be some power saving from not having to run radar. And I guess there could be some power saved in computing, since Pure Vision will (in theory) be less complex without having to overlay the radar data with the visual data. But I agree it would be pretty small...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

That's exactly what I was thinking. Evidence might be circumstantial, but everything seems to line up with this theory (including Elon's tweet about the pure vision system, from 5/12).

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I remember a tweet from Elon on 5/12 that made me wonder if radar was going to be removed soon. I actually asked my TA, just because I was curious if he knew anything and whether or not what they are shipping now still has it. He responded quickly with "Your Model 3 will come with the most...

Wiki Model 3 Order Tracking Spreadsheet

Great! Glad I could be of help. I'd have just responded with a thumbs up, but for the life of me I can't find where to do that. Maybe I'm to new of a member to give "likes".

Wiki Model 3 Order Tracking Spreadsheet

I actually connected with my SA (well, "Tesla Advisor" - same thing?) when I reached out to [email protected] with a question about my order. He's been the same contact with each correspondence, and also sent me a text with his email and phone for me to use for any future questions. I'm...
