Delivery Day!! Delivery experience was fairly straightforward, no issues worth noting on the car. I didn’t go through the exhaustive checklist during delivery. I did a detailed walk around of the exterior and pretty quick interior overview. I’ll go through one of the checklists later tonight...
I’m in the Grand Rapids area. For winter I’ll probably purchase the winter tire set from Tesla….but they’re expensive, so might reevaluate as it gets closer. I’ve driven on summer tires during an entire winter season before, 0/10 would not recommend!
FYI…when looking at your home kWh rates, remember that there are (at least in Michigan) distribution charges that add on top of the advertised rate. So for me, an advertised rate of .10/kWh actually comes closer to .16/kWh when the distribution charges are added in.
Looks amazing, congratulations!!! I’ve been a Red M3LR owner since last June (Red M3P is on order). Really sorry that someone went out of their way to mess with you! In my year of ownership, I’ve found that the positive interactions far outweigh the negative. I’ve had:
Random kids stop in...
Talk to your SA to confirm, but I’m pretty sure they will tell you that the trade-in status won’t effect a 2-week window. It’s really only going to matter when you get to delivery day.
Placed my order for a M3P this afternoon!! Jun - Aug EDD, but based on my experience last year with my M3LR order, I’m not going to hold my breath lol.
So if you have a really bad drive and don't want to get dinged....reboot the car after you put it in park but before you exit. It erases the data for that drive (or at least won't upload it). Not sure if that will continue to work with next update.
I gave up on waiting! Few moments ago I had my SA match me with a car in inventory from Boise!! Changing from Black exterior to Red, but other specs are the same as original order. Flight is booked and delivery is scheduled for Saturday!
I've been waiting since 4/12, with an EDD of July 12 - Aug 1, so at this point I would consider flying to wherever I can find a match and driving it back.
If I find a matching build in inventory, does it matter how far away the car is from my current location? Will Tesla still transport it to my SC for delivery? I emailed my SA earlier today but haven't heard back yet. Just curious if anyone here knew?
Tips to getting your VIN number....
1. Don't order Black exterior.
2. Don't be from the Midwest.
3. Don't mean tweet at Elon.
I think #3 is the one that got me.
It def sucks! It makes it really hard to plan financing, when to sell my current car, etc. When I placed my order my SA told me I would for sure be receiving the car at the end of June. I suppose it could still happen (I don't really trust the EDDs) but at this point it's all I have to go off of.
I feel for you! I ordered 4/12 and had my EDD jump to July 12 - August 01 the start of last week (it had been June 17 - 30). It hasn't changed since then am my SA isn't able to provide any insight as to why.
There's no moving parts that really need to be broken in like with a traditional ICE car so far less risk of someone being able to damage the car during an aggressive test drive.
has anyone with a Midwestern (Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Grand Rapids, etc) delivery center location who ordered a black M3LR gotten a VIN yet? Waiting for mine since 4/12. I ordered M3LR Black w/white interior, 19 in wheels, no FSD.
Wow, the manage order page is really jacked up right now for me. Most of the information is missing. I've refreshed a few times. I wonder if Tesla just has their retired rev 1 AutoPilot running the status page and it just likes to mess with us?
I was in the Grand Rapids SC yesterday and they said VINs would start being released soon but to expect delivery of my LRM3 no earlier than the second week of June. They also said the GR SC has been approved to perform deliveries!
When the site came back up last night I FINALLY had an estimated delivery date again! June 12 - June 30. Wake up this morning and estimated delivery date has been completely removed again. Sigh.
My SA mentioned late last week that they were experiencing lots of logistics issues globally which was effecting timelines across the board. He didn't get into specifics but what's mentioned in this article is probably what he was referring to.
I ordered the one from Telsa. I decided awhile ago that since this is my first Tesla, I would prefer their accessories over the 3rd party accessories. I know there are probably less expensive/better options.
