Exactly it works after an update because the bt module gets rebooted. After a while it stops working and you have the same problem over and over again.

Why would it work for a while then not work unless in the "right spot" though? Seems the receiver or something isn't using the power it should to keep a strong signal.

That seems to be how it goes, software upset resets the module which works until it doesn't. But that isn't a long term fix and sounds like there is a part that should be replaced.

Honestly I do some longer drives usually but have yet to SC my X which I got in August. 16k miles so far not 1 minute of SC. If you plan accordingly you rarely need it.

As current builds yes probably HW4 with a big BUTTTT they sometimes assign VINs to cars that were held up for some reason or other and built 3-6 months prior to your EDD. If that happens all bets are off.

Wonder if as your grid comes up the large variations are a problem. Maybe there is a way to delay going back on grid for a few minutes when grid power restored just to prevent this? Otherwise lower charging speed might work.

Can try to switch priority and see what happens.

Also make sure yours is set to the "priority device" in bluetooth settings. If hers is priority the second her phone is in range it becomes the main device for the car.
