I've received my registration number in advance of me getting my car delivered on the 7th September. However, it's not being recognised by any of the insurance companies search look-ups. Does anyone know when this will become active, so I can get my insurance boxed off?

I've just received a text message telling me a car has been allocated to my order and that the arrival date is being calculated - positive news, so they must be on the move! No VIN yet though.

Ha, wow. This whole process is just so frustrating. Why are the advisors not singing from the same hymn sheet and providing such contractionary information?! For what it's worth, I was told today that they will be receiving SR+'s in August but the one vessel doesn't have enough cars to fulfil...

I had the same email a week after my confirmation text (4th June) - and radio silence since.

Ha - that's about right! Hopefully, he's right. I remember the website showing 'August delivery' for new custom orders in July, and now as we know it shows November. So if that's anything to go by then you should be fine - but, who knows?! What spec did you go for?

It's the same call centre I believe. I spoke to the same advisor over live chat as I did over the phone - I think it depends on which customer service advisor you get. Worth calling though, it would be good of them to actually let you know whether or not you're in August/Sept or Novemeber!

I've just got off the phone too - the advisor stated there's "lots of speculation" when I pushed him for a delivery date and prompted him with the August 17th date. He wouldn't give me a solid answer but hinted that, given my order date, I'd be looking at September, possibly late August. He...

Haha - yeh, lot's of angry petrol heads my way so I might do the same... Direct Line has refused to quote me, strangely. Churchill is where I got the cheapest quote - adding a named driver reduced it by £200!

My insurance quote has rocketed up overnight - not sure why/how this has happened! The best quote I've had at the moment is £890 p/y - shame I have to mark it as 'company lease' as if it was private I could have been insured for the year for £450!
