Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I'm surprised the incentive was so short-lived; all FY funds consumed in approx, 3-months? "NJBPU today announced Year Two of the popular Charge Up New Jersey Program, its electric vehicle (EV) incentive initiative, is expected to expend all funds ahead of schedule, moving New Jersey closer to...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Same thought process here ... installed a 14-50 outlet instead of a dedicated charger. Unfortunately, my 100A panel was full so had to pay an electrician to upgrade the panel and pull permits.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Estimated delivery dates are back-up on the Dashboard ... estimated delivery now shows 8/19 to 9/8.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Uh oh, that's not good. I wonder if our orders will also get pushed out.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Yeah, mine disappeared yesterday. Thought it was just a system maintenance issue but it's still absent today. My last delivery estimate was 8/16 to 9/6 but now it just shows the generic statement: "We will reach out to you to schedule your delivery date. Delivery time frame is based on order...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Ahhh, got my hopes up ... I have the "Review Agreement" section as well but the "Review" button is inactive. Well, I guess the process is still moving.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

    Ordered 6/9 ... plain-jane MY (white/black interior), 5-seat, no tow-hitch, no FSD
  8. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

The estimated delivery dates are all over the place ... went from last week of July to mid-August and now Sep 1.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

If NJ Commuter ordered a M3, then a SR+ would definitely fall within the $5K rebate incentive.
  10. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

If you absolutely need the 7 seat / 3rd row option, then the $2K rebate may not be a big-enough draw just to get the price below $55K.
  11. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

If the Tesla sales rep recreates the order then (I presume) the new order will have the current price? And not the price you purchased it originally?
  12. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Yes, it's my understanding the current MYs LR & performance models being delivered have heated steering wheels and the sentry mode usb connection in the glove box. If you happen to have the unicorn MY SR+, then I'm not sure if the heated steering wheel was an option.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I was wondering the same as well. It would be interesting to see if folks with late July deliveries have this feature in their MY, but I'm actually hoping the MY has the larger 82kw (?) battery pack.
  14. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Likewise, my MY estimated delivery date shifted from Sep to mid-Aug to late July to now early Aug.
  15. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

That's all I've seen as well; signing up for a mailing list. If the EV charger rebate incentive roll-out is anything like the auto rebate, I'm sure we'll see something in "summer 2021".
  16. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I've been contemplating canceling my MY order and resubmitting but there's a $1K price difference between when I ordered and the current price so I'd be saving $900 if I reordered. Not sure if it's worth it to reorder for a $900 savings ... also, I've noticed my estimated delivery date has...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

That's a good point; the program website appears to have a dashboard showing remaining funds. Interesting that $7M (23%) has already been utilized; I presume that was used to payout the remaining Phase 1 participants (?).
  18. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

So, as long as you take delivery after 7/6/2021, you're eligible for the rebate incentive? That would be great news.
  19. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

The max $5K rebate incentive is for EV with MSRP up to $45K. EVs with MSRP between $45K and $55K have a max rebate incentive of only $2K. So, any MY will have only a $2K incentive. Several of us have MY on order prior to the consecutive price increases so it becomes a wash.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I initially wanted the 7-seat MY but thought the 5-seater would get me the $5K rebate. Without the rebate, I'm mulling over just canceling and getting the 7-seater. The games we play in NJ for an EV rebate. LOL
  21. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

That would be great if the LR option is considered a package; that would get the MY in the $5K rebate territory. Unfortunately, I don't know how NJ 'officially' recognizes the MY LR. My order agreement doesn't break out the LR as a package.
  22. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

They really are making this harder than necessary. Oh well, not gonna lie, my enthusiasm for the rebate seriously waned when the rebate went from $5K to $2K for the MY LR. I've already ordered so if Tesla dealers play nice and use the purchase / delivery date on the POS form, great! Otherwise...
  23. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Yeah, I'm alittle confused on the order date as well. The last document (page 30) seems to indicate that if you ordered prior to the launch, the rebate was ineligible but there was a screen shot (post #639) which seems to show for Tesla vehicles it was the date of registration for the purchase...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Looks like they haven't changed the max $2K rebate limit for vehicles between the $45K-$55K range. Hmm, I'm not sure if I'm willing to go through the hassle of canceling and re-ordering for only a $1K rebate since I ordered prior to the last 2, $500 price jumps.
  25. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Well, on a possibly positive note, just saw a Youtuber (Bearded Tesla Guy) show that his recent MY may actually come with a 82kw battery pack vs the previous 78kw pack. If that's true for current MYs, its a slight consolation ... but I still want the $5K rebate. lol
  26. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Wow, indeed, there was another $500 price bump on the MY. If the MY winds up only eligible for a $2K rebate, those you purchased their MY earlier in the year will actually come out ahead compared to current buyers with the rebate.
  27. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Exactly, the real data points for the rebate are still unclear ... 'summer 2021' whenever that is and weather the $5K max rebate can apply to EVs between $45K - $55K.
  28. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I emailed Tesla ([email protected]) with my reservation number and referral code and they replied back in a couple of days indicating my account was updated. I won't know until I take delivery to check my 'Loot Box' to see if it actually went through. "Your account has been updated...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

There's no denying the price value with the RAV4 Prime with the NJ EV rebate and Federal tax credit as long as it meets your needs. Like @rjpjnk, the 40+ mile EV range is not enough to justify the purchase for us. I have a 150 round-trip commute so if I'm going electric, I need something that...
  30. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I also looked at the Prime RAV4 XSE but with the added options and NJ sales tax, the total comes very close to a MY 5-seater. Of course, if you include the Federal Tax credit, it does make the RAV4 less expensive.
  31. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Don't know if it's confirmed but (just a personal opinion) it doesn't bode well when the information is being presented to dealers. I REALLY hope I'm wrong.
  32. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Oh, I didn't catch that ... then as long as you register your Tesla after the launch date then it looks like you're in. Now, we just need to know the freakin program launch date. The presenter in the video kept touting the 'party line' of Summer 2021 so I guess they have until Aug?!
  33. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Well, based on the video, the MSRP limit is indeed $55K with only a $2K max rebate for MSRP vehicles in the $45K-$55K range. Kind of stinks since you could have essentially received a similar 'rebate' if you simply purchased the Model Y earlier in the year before the 3 price increases.
  34. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Nothing has been confirmed but @fatyg5 shared the FY22 EV rebate straw-proposal which seems to show a $55K MSRP limit for rebate eligibility. The draft proposal also modifies the rebate amounts where MSRP >$45K and less than $55K the max rebate is $2K and a MSRP <$45K the max rebate is $5K...
  35. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Oh geez, that's not looking good for us that ordered before July 1st or whatever the 'official' start-date. Here's hoping NJ shows some grace with the EV rebate or just bite the bullet and go thru the gyrations of canceling and reordering.
  36. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Ah, that's a good point ... I was hoping NJ was showing grace for EV buyers caught in this tiresome limbo.
  37. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

That's the risk / gamble I took ... hoping there will be enough wiggle room in the final incentive language that allows for delivery acceptance, registration, etc. My model Y is scheduled for delivery 8/9-8/29 and I'm presuming NJ will have their act together by then. If they take a hard-stance...
  38. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Ordered MY on 6/9 with the price increase the next day; pure happenstance on timing but I've wondered the same whether the price will increase again eating into any incentive for future buyers.
  39. P

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I noticed that as well ... it begs to question if the incentive is still viable to those who purchased earlier this year.
