Drop in interest in EV's and further Tesla price cuts

Well said, makes me laugh that the same old crowd will blindly 'hate' anyone who may dare to say anything that maybe construed as negative against the Tesla gods.

https://news.sky.com/story/new-electric-car-interest-drops-two-thirds-on-uks-biggest-car-sales-website-12861324 I wonder where this is heading?

    Unprovoked road rage...

Believe me, unless the video equipment itself is seized and then forensically examined/calibrated and then the road visited, closed and fully surveyed. the video will not stand in court and entered into evidence as proof of speed. This type of procedure is only used in fatal collisions or...

    Unprovoked road rage...

Agreed, but remember, a prosecution is not a conviction and the burden of proof for dangerous driving is high and conviction rates are considerably lower than the lesser offences. See below extract. (1)For the purposes of sections 1 [F2, 1A] and 2 above a person is to be regarded as driving...

    Unprovoked road rage...

The burden of proof remains high for the offence of dangerous driving, much often these offences are dropped to driving without due care and attention as they are much easier to prove and gain conviction.

    Unprovoked road rage...

Impossible to prove the speed, unless your car was taken to have the speedometer calibrated along with the FPS of your submitted video. Speed alone will constitute enough evidence for dangerous driving, The no insurance will obviously be able to prove, assuming that the registered keeper...

    Unprovoked road rage...

That will not end in a successful prosecution, due to the fact that it will be almost impossible to calculate the speed using that camera angle, even using simple maths on time and distance. You wasted your time.

Tyre Blow Out on 7 mth old Model 3 …. Not happy

I am really not sure what you are expecting people to say. If you are that bothered, take the tyre to a laboratory for it to be forensically examined and if the product is found defective, begin legal action against Pirelli, I feel that you will be wasting your time and huge amounts of money...

Tyre Blow Out on 7 mth old Model 3 …. Not happy

As others have previously stated, this can happen in any car, one of the risks of driving I guess, amongst the many others. No one would want to repeat it but the only way to guarantee it would be to give up driving.

Tyre Blow Out on 7 mth old Model 3 …. Not happy

Pirelli are far from a 'budget' brand and I would say that you have almost certainly damaged the tyre and compromised its integrity at some point before this incident. There are many high end performance car manufacturers that use Pirelli by the way. By the way, there is no fast lane, I assume...

Help - MYP or BMW iX

You are boring me now, read my initial post, I said "I would choose the BMW over my model 3 all day long, completely different car and IMO a different league to the model 3". If you are going to try and quote me, get your facts right, I never said ' an all round better EV', Get over being so...

Help - MYP or BMW iX

I think anyone will accept that the build quality and customer service is light years ahead of Tesla. BMW actually care about their customers for a start. I think you maybe a little Tesla blinded if you see anything different. And just for information, I own a Tesla.

Navigation caused me to get a fine

Bill, Not trolling at all, I never said that they are permitted to go though red lights, but if you 'wipe them out' as you say then you will have some questions to answer. Thanks for humouring me just the once though. With regarding to refresher training, you could attend an IAM or ROSPA course...

Navigation caused me to get a fine

Yes, it would be your fault if you failed to see and avoid a cyclist or pedestrian. Maybe complete some refresher training before endangering other road users.

Navigation caused me to get a fine

Simple, read the signs and don't rely on satnav. Its simply your fault and no one else to blame. Take it as a lesson to actually pay attention to the road and signage.

    Residuals M3LR vs M3SR+

Wow, this thread has taken a surprising turn and I'm sure that the OP is a little confused after asking his initial valid question.

Real world range in layman's terms

It was a mix of roads and the speeds varied between 70mph and town driving 30mph. I drove over to Reading and back, started from 100% and finished with 19%, covering 241 miles on that occasion.

Real world range in layman's terms

In my 2021 MIC SR+, during the last few months since collecting the car at the beginning of June, I can easily achieve 220 miles without really having to try. I know that this number will drop in the winter months. I recently achieved 240 miles with 19% remaining but that was an exception.

    Kia EV6

There is no way that either of these could be classed as SUV's. I have to say that I believe these are viable alternatives to the model 3.

    E.on Next Drive

The reason I actively avoided Octopus was due to three people I know personally that are having/had a terrible time with them. All of their collective problems involving issues surrounding the smart meter either not working or not being installed. I had no such problems with Eon, one phone call...

    E.on Next Drive

I use that tariff and it works like a dream. I schedule charging between 0000hrs and 0400hrs and no problems. The app isn't too bad either.

    Octopus Smart Meter Experiences

I chose to avoid them following my father's similar experience to many others above. He has been waiting 3 months for them to sort out the technical problems with his smart meter that wont connect, they state it is an issue with their servers?? I decided to go with Eon drive tariff, that gives...

    SR+ Car Mats

I collected my 2021 SR+ from Brent Cross last just over a week ago and I can confirm that it came with mats. I think they seem good quality and I'm glad that I didn't order some prior to arrival.

Home Charge Points Discussion and Suggestions [megathread]

I have just had a PodPoint Solo tethered installed. So far I'm impressed, does what i need with a good app. The tethered lead is 7.5mtrs long, so give some good flexibility.

    Plugged in Everyday?

I have been told to plug in when possible. I have a 2021 SR+ MIC LFP and although its possible to charge regularly to 100% apparently, I set limit to either 90 or 95% and plug in when I can.

So frustrating! Or am I being entitled?

Very annoying, people just don't care and park where they want without any consideration. These are the same people that would be the first to complain if they were inconvenienced.

    UK Charge Point Installer Recommendations

I can highly recommend VoltEv VOLTEV, EV Charger Installation for Sussex & Kent They are extremely helpful and professional. I ordered a PodPoint Solo tethered from them. They arranged a very fast install because my car had been delivered early. A very tidy install and left everything...
