Interesting theory. When I first got this error, I had NO third party apps. Since then, I've started using Stats (and only Stats) and have not had a repeat of the error. Not saying they're wrong, but I don't think third party apps are the cause in all cases. Certainly not in mine.

I used Waze, which uses GPS. I've found it to be fairly reliable with my other vehicles, but I can't vouch for it's +/- precision.
