App updates (What route does the data take?)

I've seen something similar. When the car is close to finished, I can disconnect my hotspot, and it still goes on until it reaches 100%. Maybe Tesla is including a local extraction/unzip of files within the last percentages?

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

Back to the original topic: THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM IS BACK !! ☹️ Noticed it a week ago. May have been there before that. I wanted to be sure it wasn't the car just having a bad day. Of course it had to be starting the exact moment I REALLY needed it... Thanks, Tesla...

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

I think you have to elaborate a bit on this one. 😀 Why couldn't it be because the Tesla servers is polling data from it? You don't use any API or other remote logging tools against the Tesla servers/services? Like abetterrouteplanner.com?

    Auto-launching Tesla app on Android

    How about using airplane mode?

Leaving car at a shop. Tips?

I would like to have a service that polls the car's position regularly, and reports if it is moving beyond a defined distance from the shop. It should also log the position, speed aso. It should warn if the connection with the car is lost. Note: The shop may set it in service mode, so it might...

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

Yeah.. the original problem seems fixed for me. At least most of the time. No. How do you do that? You had MCU1 before? I had MCU2 even before the AP3 upgrade. When you write "always available", do you mean you can always connect to it with the app? (never disconnects) How do you know...

Model S resets all settings after reboot

Yea, pretty sore about losing the energy stats from the car was new, too. 😭

Software (2022.12.3.20) reinstalls itself and resets settings to factory defaults while charging at Supercharger during long trip

Experienced something similar with my MS 100D from 2019. Look at the thread Model S resets all settings after reboot.

Model S resets all settings after reboot

At June 11., the GUI was sluggish, music stopped playing, and the browser closing continuously made me do the normal two scroll-wheel reboot. When done, every setting was reset/deleted, such as profiles, trip statistics, languages, navigation favourites, and more. Everything! Looked like a...

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

Actually mine got "better" at some point. Problem is not solved, but it has improved.

    Yoke replacement

They really should have made the yoke control by wire, so the sensitivity could be adjusted for the current vehicle speed. That way you wouldn't have to reposition your hands to make a sharp turn on the parking lot. I do realise that there might be some rules and regulations that prohibit this...

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

The problem is definitely still here on 2021.32.21. I tried to use the app to get in contact with my car many times during two days - to no avail. When entering the car it took the usual 2 minutes before the LTE was online again. I believe someone suggested to try waking up the car by sharing an...

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

The 2021.24.5 didn't fix it for me. It seems though, that it did improve a bit with that version.

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

Could be. But I highly doubt everyone with a Tesla experience this problem, so isn't the logical conclusion that deep down it's a hardware issue? The software is the same, right? Do we know that? This happens to me too. Annoying, but thankfully it is a rare event for me.

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

So I had a service appointment to fix this issue. They said they reflashed the telit modem. Didn't fix the problem, unfortunately. As a speculation from me: I think they know how to fix this with hardware... they just won't... probably due to cost... when thousands or millions of units needs to...

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

Interesting. Could it be an upgrade of the LTE modem? Hardware and/or firmware for it? Did they mention the eMMC/SSD in the MCU2?

Infotainment upgrade hurt acceleration and suspension

I seem to recall a software update that raised the suspension in order to lessen the possibility of hitting debris? If so, could these be linked? In any case; if the ride height is increased I believe the suspension will become more firm.

    Early Model S Web Browser

Thanks. I haven't seen a demise of gas stations yet, but I have no actual statistical information. Anyways; EV'ers still need washer fluid, snacks and coffee 😄. Maybe even more than ICE'ers...? Besides, many high power chargers are located at or near gas stations. Edit: In the future they may...

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

It seems many of you have this problem when upgrading fron MCU1 to MCU2. Anyone here have this problem with a native MCU2? (AP2, with or without FSD)

    Early Model S Web Browser

Do you have a USB disk or flash drive connected for dash-cam? If so, try removing it and do a restart. Please report back, because I have a similar experience, which seems to improve when no USB-dev is present.

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

Thanks for confirming that it's not just me. Yes, and that right there is the problem. Everyone should complain at every issue asap, or else Tesla will not prioritize a fix. I have this problem too. I see close to nothing in the backup camera without pressing the brake pedal to engage the...

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

That doesn't sound like fun. Maybe the hardware is the same for your replacement units as I have in my AP2 facelift? Sometimes I have been able to restore the connection by killing the app and trying again, and again... (For Android: Long-click the icon on the home screen, and find the...

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

I did request a service call ! They just closed it with the comment that it is a not a hardware issue - it is a known firmware issue, and engineering is working on a fix. This is of course not really all truthful. If it is not a problem for everyone, it is indeed a hardware issue. My guess is...

Sorry about the somewhat OT rant above. (I found no way to edit the post/comment)

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

Thanks, guys. I must say that as a consumer, I hate not having the power to request a fix now, or else... You're completely in their mercy, whether they will bother fixing your problem or not. If only eg. 1% are having this problem, why would they? So right now, I don't have the product that...

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

Thanks for your reply. I did not know that it worked like that. However, the wifi is not connected at all when experiencing this issue. I regularly experience the issue in urban/city areas. For good measures, though, I will try to remove every wifi connection.

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

Thanks for your reply. Since the problem is repeatedly occurring within urban/city area, it seems to me that cellular signal strength is not the issue.

Model S intermittently loses 4G/LTE/network connectivity while powered off

Anyone have problems with the car intermittently losing 4G/LTE/mobile network connectivity while powered off / parked and locked? During this you cannot connect with the app, which is highly annoying. When entering the car the signal indicator for the network connectivity is depicted with a...
