Found my VIN in source code last night and was confirmed this morning via email from my SA. I also have a delivery appointment (Oct 27) but was advised it is a placeholder until they confirm whether it can be picked up sooner. 🤞

Got my vision statement today - accepted that and my EDD updated to Oct 23-29… then a few hours later, I now have a delivery appointment! Oct 27 @ 9am… might just be a placeholder? 🤷‍♂️ No VIN yet as far as I can tell from checking source code.

My July 21 order still has EDD of Oct 13 - 27, but the writing seems to be on the wall for me… I’ll expect my EDD to push back when Oct 13th comes… :-(

Almost same scenario here - all my dates are similar to yours… ordered July 21 - SR+ white/white, aero. EDD was at Oct 15-Nov 04 for over a month, then on Sept 30th, EDD changed to Oct 13-27… but still holding those dates today… 🤞🙏

I recently reached out to my SA re my M3 order with EDD of Oct 15 - Nov 4 and he said it looks like I’ll likely be able to take delivery from him in Halifax instead of Ottawa… 🤞🤞

I feel for you - 7/21 order here and also impatiently waiting. The decision by Tesla to not (yet?) sell the LFP battery cars in Canada means we are not getting any improvement in our delivery dates as there are no LFP models constantly popping up in inventory to grab like our south of the border...

I mostly agree with your analysis but I was expecting more like a 40% hit to battery efficiency on a cold day. That makes it quite a bit tighter getting home but probably still doable.

I’m pretty sure it’s been confirmed it’s only the batteries that are from China - not the whole car. Some on the main SR+ waiting room page already have their VINS from LFP models grabbed yesterday. VIN confirms Fremont build.

I watched a couple of interesting videos re M3 SR+ with LFP batteries. They are long and detailed, and are in German, but there are English subtitles available. Keep in mind: I’m pretty sure the car in the videos does not have a heat pump. (MIC M3 with LFP where MIC = Made in China)

I’m not disputing that it’s happened to others, but I ordered July 21st and *may* be a bit compulsive about checking it frequently… I've never seen it change more than the one time in the morning. :-)

I’m in Canada - with LFP batteries, I’m most worried about my winter commute of approximately 160 kms round trip. Other than that, everything else about LFP batteries sounds good.

I’m wondering if they do switch over to LFP batteries, will it result in any production line downtime? Surely there is at least a small amount of time to switch over…

I’ve been reading the rumors of the switchover to LFP batteries around the end of 3rd quarter…. My own pure speculation: wouldn’t they need a some amount of production line downtime to convert? Might explain the wild swings in my EDD…

As if to validate my comment above, Tesla changed my EDD from Sept 10-30 yesterday back to October 15 - November 04 as of this morning. 🤬

I suspect the January estimate is “accurate-ish”, and if the Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) changes after you place an order, I would not trust that for accuracy. EDD is heavily discussed here and widely believed to be inaccurate - at least early on. :)

Same experience for me as asquared17 - it moved all the time at first. Now it still moves wildly for me but at least it stays the same for a few days at a time before making big moves 😁
