Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

A huge thank you for your incredible quantity of information. I now have a plan. I so appreciate you taking the time to educate me. FYI - the destination is 1 wall cavity over and about 6-7 feet up. The main panel is below garage floor level. I have my cable connectors for passing through...

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

Wow, how helpful. Thanks so much. Great info. It sure seemed like only 2 of 3 parts were needed, but thanks for the mud ring info. I am running it through the wall (electric panel is on outside of garage wall and EVSE will be on inside, so very easy to just run it through the wall with the...

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

Thanks for the very helpful advice. Totally clears up the issue of which 14-50 - I will go to zoro and get the Bryant. But...plates and boxes are also needed and confusing to me. I have read 'make sure the box is deep enough' and zoro.com seems to have plates/covers/boxes that apply, but...

Master Thread: Definitive 14-50 NEMA Outlet Guide

Many many discussions on this topic, but I have been unable to determine some basics - sorry, but perhaps have just not read enough. What I have read is 'be sure to NOT get the Leviton 14-50. Instead Bryant or Hubbell. Does anyone know the difference between...

I don't really understand everything that's involved with charging :-(

If 24 kWh per 100 miles is EPA best/reported consumption, what is typical for great, average and poor driving?

Thanks for the many comments, all extremely helpful and much appreciated.

If 24 kWh per 100 miles is EPA best/reported consumption, what is typical for great, average and poor driving?

I know most of the reasons YMMV (hills, wind, A/C, heavy braking/acceleration), but I'm hoping that there are some general expectations that are 'known.' That is, if you have no hills, no wind, no A/C and cruise at low speeds without braking - do people really see 24kWh per 100 miles? Leaving...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Calling me a 'newbie' is way too kind - I take delivery of my first Tesla (2021 SR+) in 6-8 weeks. I have spent many hours reading, and would spend years (lifetimes?) reading if I tried to read everything. I live in Danville, CA. If my questions were already addressed, I apologize. That...
